I've been watching too many....

How does everyone feel about
Sarah Lancaster?? She seems to be in a lot of the new ones.

The cheesiest movie I have seen so far has been "Finding Christmas" I mean, top
Of the cheese list for me!! But I still kind of liked it! Ha!

I like Sara Lancaster. I also like Candace Cameron Bure and Lacy Chabert. I can see what everyone is saying about Alicia Witt. I thought she was ok in A Very Merry Mix Up and Christmas at Cartwrights but the one this year I'm Not Ready for Christmas I found her a bit annoying.

...and I guess I'm in the minority concerning Alicia Witt. I liked her in A Very Merry Mix-Up...

Me too! I finally looked her up, because I didn't know who people were talking about - but once I saw that movie listed, I recognized her. I just watched it again the other day, in fact.

:lmao:I think I've found my people. :grouphug: :rotfl:

This says it all!

Has anyone seen Ice Sculpture Christmas yet? She's my favorite actress in HM movies. She's so bubbly and adorable. I like Sarah Lancaster and Lacey Chabert usually and I always watch the Candace Cameron Bure movies, even tho she'll always be DJ to me! My favorite, because I'm a total hopeless romantic is that right after Christmas, right after... Hallmark starts on the Valentine romantic movies!

Another Hallmark Christmas movie watcher here. I realized after reading here that I'm more inclined to watch the love story ones vs the elf/something's wrong at North Pole type. It has to be somewhat real. One of my favorites is "It's the most wonderful time of the year" with the fonz as the uncle and the woman who is the host of the "Chase" game show. Always cracks me up how many people are walking on the sidewalks in a small town. I do like the Alaska one with Candace Bure as I always wonder what it would be like to live in a cabin type house in Alaska. Everyone's favorite Alicia Witt is on right now with the "I'm not ready for Christmas" but I'm watching the other Hallmark channel with the Mrs Claus being a nanny to the police officer and soon to be ex wife.

There is something to watching these year after year, perhaps 5 times in the same year. The one where the woman meets the bus driver (aka an angel) at the gas station, he tells her not to talk on the cell phone and she ends up in a coma (but she's now an angel to save the guy with the restaurant). I have seen that one about 10 times over the years and noticed yesterday for the first time that the restaurant guy said his dad was a bus driver before he died. I never caught that before. I'm guessing the guy at the gas station is the restaurant guy's deceased dad.

Yes! That was adorable!

We have Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel. They both run Christmas movies, but not the same ones at the same time.

I just found out a few days ago that I have the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel. I had never heard of it until I saw the Hallmark commercial for the Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery, premiering this weekend. I had to watch the commercial a couple times to realize they are talking about a different channel.

I Googled to see if I have the channel & I do. :yay:

If anyone else wants to check & see if they get that channel, just input your zip code in here: http://www.hallmarkmoviesandmysteries.com/channel-locator

I've only watched a few movies on it. They seem to be better written and have some real stars in the movies. I watched Fallen Angel, with Gary Sinise. Now, you know he wouldn't be in a movie that's badly written or acted. :thumbsup2

Yes, I really liked Ice Sculpture Christmas. It's one of my favorites so far. I like the actress. The guy, not so much. :p

Well I'm assuming you know its so they can do multiple takes and not have to have a bunch of exactly wrapped packages but there are two instances where they do use conventionally wrapped presents.

Well that makes sense. My guess was that wrapping paper probably just looks like trash on camera, and that the sound of it isn't the most pleasant thing either.

I just found this channel too! I can go
Back and forth between the two channels. Especially when they are giving 4 HOURS of Home and Family! :crazy2:

I love "It's the most wonderful time of the year"! One of my favorites!

I despise Lacey Chabert (so prissy and overacts) though I do get a laugh in the movie where she's a baker and she tells them that her "secret" ingredient for delicious cookies is pure vanilla extract. Ummm yeah, that's a big secret.

Did anyone else watch last night's "The Bridge"? I liked it and thought all was going well until it abruptly ended and said stay tuned for Part 2 coming Christmas 2016!?!!!!? What? I guess I'll have to go check out the book from the library now. I am bummed. It drove me crazy that movie series took a year or more for the next chapter to come out (Harry Potter, Twilight, etc.) and I probably would've skipped last night's movie if I had known it was only part 1.

I watched all five of the new Christmas movies over Thanksgiving weekend or in repeats since then and I liked them but didn't like Candace Bure's movie as much as I liked her previous Christmas movies. Not sure why exactly but it may be because she is 39 and doesn't really fit the just finding the right guy and having kids mold. It seems several of the guys have seemed a bit younger than her....

I don't expect to particularly like the upcoming Mariah Carey movie since I'm not a fan but I will watch it anyway, lol.

YES!!!! I wanted to scream when I saw that. Okay correct me if I am wrong, but was that movie not based out of Nashville???

Christmas Detour wasn't that great this season.

There was a funny one on Hallmark Movies last night called the Magic stocking, I believe.

The ION Channel also has started it's own original, new holiday movies that premiere each weekend. Unfortunately, they are on at the same time as Hallmark and the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channels have their own premieres. :badpc:

http://www.iontelevision.com/holiday-movies

I watched Merry Kissmas & A Prince for Christmas. I find them better written than the Hallmark Channel movies. It's probably because Kay Jewelers is a MAJOR sponsor of these romance movies. That's probably how ION is able to produce their own holiday films. In each movie, Kay Jewelers has a HUGE product placement ad in the movie. Anyone who's watched The Bachelor, and has seen how the jewelery of Neil Lane gets a major ad during the show will know what I mean. :rolleyes1

Since the holiday movies only show during the weekends and Criminal Minds & Law & Order show during the weekdays, if you are like me & have Time Warner Cable, which only allows you to record two shows at the same time, and one of them you have to be watching, (unless you watch an already pre-recorded show while filming the two,) you have to decide which two movies to record.

The Lifetime Channel also has new original movies every Sat & Sun nites. They also seem better written than Hallmark's movies.

And they air a "new" previously released, holiday movie every day:
http://www.mylifetime.com/movies/holiday

For me, since I looked at the Hallmark & HMM Channel schedules and they repeat their premieres during the following week, and the only time the ION movies will repeat is on Christmas eve, I decided to record the ION movies and one of the Hallmark movies.

Lifetime also doesn't re-air their original movies as often as Hallmark, but their schedule is a lot better than ION. My DVR is scheduled to record stuff nearly non-stop on the weekends. Then I can slowly watch them through the week after I get home. :happytv: popcorn::

ABCFamily is also showing holiday movies, but they are usually old Disney releases that most people probably have already seen in the theatres. However, watch/record The Mistle Tones. :yay: It re-airs: Fri. Dec. 18, 12:00 PM (EST) on ABCFamily.

It has Tori Spelling as one of the stars, and I thought I'd be bored to tears if I didn't gouge my eyes out first watching her. :headache: But, I was reading emails while loosely watching the movie. :surfweb: Then I heard someone singing "I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love." I looked up. O.M.G! :faint: That guy was HOT!!! And he could sing & dance. :lovestruc And you know that whoever sings an Elvis song had better be able to deliver, and he DOES! Sexiest guy I've seen in all the Christmas movies. And Tori isn't in the movie all that much. And she played her role rather well after all. :thumbsup2

I think she just whined & complained too much in this new movie. :badpc: She was very "snowflakey" to use a DIS term. Anyone who's had to deal with travel delays knows how difficult they can be. Worse, is when you get stuck with one of "those" types of snowflakey people, that you usually try to avoid being near, :duck: or try to get away from :headache: because their attitude just makes being in the situation worse. :crazy2:

I need to catch up! Have been so busy with school and everything else that I haven't been watching. I feel like ABC family picks the same 5 movies and shows them over and over again. They mix in a few newer ones here and there but not enough variety. I am going to binge watch this weekend!!!

I am obsessed with all the Christmas movies, too! Hallmark and Lifetime are running them pretty much nonstop. The new ones this year that I've seen are okay- I'm looking forward to the one premiering this weekend about the guy who finds out his fiancée is Santa's daughter, and he will be the next Santa. My very favorites are the Steve Guttenburg ones about him looking for a Mrs Claus and then planning the wedding. Of course, if he doesn't find the right lady to marry, Christmas will be ruined. I also like the ones where the prince/princess falls in love with the nanny, tailor, or sweet guy/gal commoner when they run away or employ them in the castle for Christmas.

The other really sappy movie that I have to see each Christmas season is the Kristen Davis one called "Three Days". She gets killed (hit by a truck!) at the beginning of the movie and her husband begs for more time with her. An angel named Lionel gives him the last 3 days back with her, but tells him that she will still die. The husband jumps in front of the truck instead at the end of the three days, and dies in the hospital, but comes back when Lionel takes pity on them. It is so cheesy and I cry every time!
