Just to let all you guys know, who've supported me in , whats been a very difficult year and a half in one way or another.

Today my GP's signed me off work with Stress:mad:

Last week I had a very bad run in with my line manager(continuation from the work place bullying im going through), so bad so it brought on an attack of not being able to breathe and having to go to the college Nurse, My Gp is now 99.9% sure that I have asthma brought on via the stress Ive been under, as I am having daily troubles with just the simplest of things(like walking), without collapsing in a heap like a 90 year old.

The only plus in all of this, is I get to DIS to my hearts content:D

Jules

Hi Jules - I wondered what had happened last week. I had been watching the thread. I feel so sorry for you. I work in a solicitors and have been here for 22 years now. The woman I worked for some 5 years was absolutely awful to me and I ended up being signed off with stress. My weight went down to 7st 4lb (I'm now 11st!!!!) and I couldn't sleep, etc. I'm glad you have some time at home to relax. Do you think this will be used against you at work? I know technically they can't if you have been signed off by a Doctor but do you think they will get "funny" with you?

Jackie

Jackie, Im sure it will be!!!, I have no doubt when I go back that the trouble will increase, but by then i will have had a breather and be in fighting mode again LOL!!!.

My union contacted me today, to say how the diagnosis of the asthma(through stress) will ad weight to our case when we proceed, with my grievance!

Until then im gonna take it easy,DIS till my hearts content, and enjoy being at home. Unlike you Im a comfort eater, so Have roped in extra help from my trainer to combat this LOL.

Jules - it will do you good to have a break from all the trouble ( a pity it isn't in WDW!!!). Although your boss will still be waiting when you get back you will feel stronger to face it and although she won't be happy if you have a doctor's note she can't do a thing about it.

thinking of you

Jules

Have been thinking of you....Keep Dis-ing away :) Its a sure fire way to cheer yourself up!

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Hopefully the time of work will give you the chance to recharge and get fit to take up the good fight again!!

Dont let them get you, you may feel down but your not out!!

Sorry that you are having such a difficult time.

Hopefully the time away will give you a good chance to recharge the old batteries.

Keep the faith and the dising.

Jules - it's no bad thing to be having some time to yourself with all the problems at work. Your health is more important than their petty carryings on, keep DISing and smiliing:D

Hi Jules. So sorry to hear about your problems. My DW started with 'mature onset' (?) asthma several years ago after the birth of our son... she's never smoked and was generally healthy. It took a bit of adapting to, but she has been very stable for ages now, goes to the gym, walks the dog (up hills sometimes!) and, wait for it, can walk round Epcot all day without any bother!! Keep smiling, get strong and go get the bullies sorted!! Mike.

Jules, I do hope that you can use this time to relax - the difficulty with this is that you have unresolved problems which can play on your mind, but do try to use this down time to relax and focus on other things and your family.

I hope you'll indulge yourself with whatever it is you enjoy most, and can file away all the work issues and keep them outside the door :)

Thanks Guys for all your help and support:D

DH likens me at the moment as somebody who "has lost their sparkle"!!

Im doing okay, and putting alot of things in perspective. DH wished he had a pot of money right now so he could whisk me off to WDW!! LOL.

Still Ive got Vegas to look forward to and WDW again in 2005, so have alot of things to be thankful for.

Lucky for me I have the boards to keep me sane, and as the saying goes"every dog has their Day"!!!;) watch this space!.

hi signtalker, i hope you are feeling better, i to am having problems with my employers, i have beeen diagnosed with epilepsy but not yet got medication, so cant work until its been sorted, they to have been builing me as to when i will return, and will i be able to do my job properly if i do return, i feel for you knowing myself how bad its makes me feel when they start with letters and phone calls wanting information that i havent got yet, please enjoy your time off and take as long as you can, my mum got asthma not long ago and people tend to forget how it affects you and how upsetting it can be,obviously your employers are no nicer than mine, my doctor is great and tells me not to worry they cant be that nasty without getting something in return lets hope so!! hope you are feeling better soon susie

Susie, thank you for your kind words. Are you in a union?, if so request a risk assessment of your job(that ll make them jump LOL), involves medical reports and might just get them off your back untill your medication is sorted.

my GP has now put me on Oral steroids 6 a day!
Im feeling less stressed, and thinking perhaps a long spell off at least untill after christmas is what I need.

Susie feel free to PM me for a chat if you like.

Jules

Jules,
Just remember.. chin up, and keep going. Don't let them get you down, remember that old saying.. what goes around ,comes around (hope thats the right way round!!). The smarmy, smirky bullying attitude will be the downfall. You wait and see,
Take Care
