I've been put on bedrest

I'm so sorry! I did this too, but they could only keep Sam in for another 3 weeks so I didn't have too long. I rather liked it though! It was nice not to be teaching and have time to surf and read. I could get up a little though, so it wasn't too bad.
Good luck!

You take care of yourself. Don't worry about that bar exam--you will have another chance to take it after you have the baby.

Hang in there! It's all for a good cause!:D

I say milk this for all it's worth. ;)

{{{Hugs}}} This is the last bit of rest and relaxation you're going to get for quite some time.

For my first child, I was put on bedrest from my 8th week of pregnancy on.....due to constant bleeding. If I was up, I was bleeding. They never did find the cause but it was a v e r y long pregnancy. :(

There are support groups out there now for bedridden moms to be. You can find them through your local hospital probably.

Be sure & follow your doctors advice. There is nothing more special or precious than a baby. Trust me, this is just one of the many sacrifices you'll be making as a parent! Get used to it! ;)

Good luck to you & truckloads of PD being sent your way for a healthy & happy baby!

Wow, lots of bedrest moms on here. Add me to the list. First it was BP, then preterm labor. I was scheduled for bed rest from May 10 until she was due (july 11th). She came on June 11th. Thank goodness! All was well. She was a little small, but not so small that she required special medical treatment (other than being put under the warmer a couple of times).

I think I remember something about laying on your left side to help with HBP. Ask your dr. about that.

Good luck! It might be a long 8 weeks, but its well worth it!

Hope you've got a good stash of magazines or books or whateer you enjoy doing to tide you over.;)

All the best tho & I hope all goes well when junior does arrive:D

Skuttle - so sorry to hear that you are bed-bound. But you do what you hafta do! (the Bar will be available to you at a later date!)
Hang in there!

Welcome to the club that no one wants! :p ;)

I was hospitalized for bedrest for my PIH so just be thankful you are home. I know you know to listen to your doctors so we won't have to worry about you and your precious little boy. Try to look at the positives of bedrest. Lots of time to catch up on reading, DIS-ing, and watching TV. Enjoy the peace and quiet while you can. It may seem like a bad thing now but in just a few months you will be wishing you could have that kind of rest again! :p

Hang in there Skuttle! I was put on partial bedrest at 31 weeks. I am now almost 36 weeks, due July 14th. I have PIH and MAJOR swelling. The only thing that helps is laying down on my left side.

The good thing is that I only have to lay down 8 hours per day - I can do some things as long as I do my "down" time first. I am also working 4 hours per day, rather than FT.

{{{hugs}}} DO what is best for you and the baby. Good luck

skuttle,

Wow, you're singing my song....Hang in there and keep us posted, will ya? I wish DW didn't have so much company in this area, but based on my recent experience, you've got a lot of company. And we're all behind you!

Pat

Good luck Skuttle. It's your little on that counts! Trust me, enjoy all the rest you can get because once he arrives you'll need it!!!!!

In the mean time, catch up on some books you've been meaning to read!

Ok, I spoke too soon! I was put on complete bedrest yesterday. I have to be down 20 out of 24 hours per day.

Hang in there Skuttle!

Goodness, what is it with the summer mom/babies? Amy Elliott is on bedrest, now you, and my friend was put on bedrest last week. She's due July 28, and doesn't know if she can make it -- she's had contractions since last month. Good luck -- and think of it as more time to DIS!
