I was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. My wife has had one several times but this was a first for me. Let's just say that for awhile on Monday I thought little Charlie was going to fall off. It REALLY hurt. Then the drug they put me on - Cipro - has all kinds of side effects. I've had dizziness, tiredness, muscle aches, headaches and on and on. It's been quite an ordeal and I'm only 5 days into a 10 day regimen. On the plus side I am feeling much better now. So you guys, if you've put your name on a list for this particular illness - get it off of there!!!

awwwwww, I'm sorry. UTI's are never any fun.

cranberry juice

hope you're feeling better!

I had a kidney stone once while at WDW and they put me on Cipro. Made me sick as a dog. So, then they gave me phenegran for the nausea. So, walking around WDW on pain medicine and phengran made for some intersting rides.

Drink LOTS of water and cranberry juice. Sure hope you feel better soon!

Code??? I would never use code!!! I'm an upstanding and rule-abiding Disser.

I tell you though, Little Harry thought he'd been sliced with a knife.

So sorry to hear about Charlie's pain Shawn. ;)
Sending pixie dust your way!

LOL One_Cat! The description was enough to make a person just CROSS THEIR LEGS and CRINGE!

DH just had a kidney stone removed last week... and he suffered a similar kind of pain yesterday when they removed his stint. :earseek:

So sorry - UTI's are no fun. Hope you're feeling better soon.

DixieDreamer - the stint removal is the worst part of the whole process - nobody told me about that - Oh, the pain was horrible. Your poor DH - give him my sympathies.

Cipro is the most awful antibiotic on earth. I was never so sick in my life. The UTI was bad enough. I didn't need the added enjoyment of the Cipro.

DixieDreamer:

Each time I have had a kidney stone, they have to put a stint in. The first one (each and every time) falls from my kidney to my bladder. They THEN have to remove it and insert another. For this, I think they should give the patient morphene!!!!!! Tell your husband that I sympathize with what he has gone through. It was worse than 24.5 hours of labor and childbirth with my son!!!

I HATE STINTS!!!

Wow - now I don't feel so bad. (oc crosses his name off the waiting list for kidney stones.) OUCH!!!

I hope you've got plenty of buttermilk or yogurt to eat or little Charlie/Harry will feel like he's on fire again before too long.;) Antibiotics = yeast infection. I've heard YI are worse for men than for women. Glad you're feeling better though.:)

Youch Browneyes. I'm not supposed to eat dairy products while on Cipro. I can't have anything with calcium in it. I know how you treat a yeast infection with a woman, how would you do it with a guy??? That sounds painful.

LOL John - sounds like the foundation for another thread but as a good little Disser I'm afraid to start it. :earseek: :earseek:
