I've become a "monorail snob" 😢

I never thought I'd see the day when I went deluxe monorail resorts and don't want to look back.

I stayed at CR then Poly then GF and I was booked for Sports later this month until yesterday when I couldn't help myself thinking about how much time I spend at MK and eating at the monorail resorts and I switched to CR.

Also I feel like the monorail resorts are the best place to stay in case there is a hurricane ya know?

Past history says all the Disney resorts (FW is not and closes) are safe during a hurricane, nobody should shell out the dough for a monorail resort for that reason. (I know that probably was a side comment and had nothing in reality to do with why you chose to spend the money on CR OP but I wanted to put this out there for everyone else who is concerned about hurricanes but probably can’t afford to jump from AS or other resorts to a monorail resort.)

My comment was not in reference to safety but rather to the amount of food/entertainment options.
I would feel SAFE at any level of resort during a hurricane. But I've just seen how in the values you're basically stuck in you room if its THAT bad. Where as if you can get to the main tower at CR you won't feel so closed in.

I totally get it! Like @Tatebeck , we've become Crescent Lake snobs! We save money by renting DVC, and now I can't imagine not staying in that area (although, I'd never turn my nose up at a monorail resort, either! 😍 ). After being able to walk to two parks and taking in the beauty of that area, we'll never go back if we can make it work. There's something so special about being so close to the parks and around all that good dining, so I understand 100%

Another Crescent Lake snob here! By far my fave location in The World. Popping over to Epcot in the evenings or walking to HS to be at the front of the rope drop herd is fabulous!

One more for Crescent Lake area. More dining options and more transportation options. I know the monorail is iconic, but it's also become slower and inefficient at times. I will say, though, we spend less time at MK in recent years, and more at EP/HS, because we like the parks better. If we were spending 2-3 days at MK, can't beat the convenience of the monorail resorts - but we'd prefer CR/BLT for that walk option.....

Another Crescent Lake fan. The ability to walk in and out of Epcot multiple times per trip is what makes it Disney for me

I am a MK resort girl all the way. I love all the monorail resorts but also think Wilderness Lodge is just as awesome. Not a big fan of others.

While every resort is certainly safe, I do think there is definitely some positives to staying in a resort with only one building during a storm.

The only reason I’m not staying by Crescent Lake next trip is DGD begged to stay at WL or AKL this time around.
Love walking thru Epcot to get to the monorail!

We like Crescent Lake area. Stayed at Polynesian but only found MK to be easy to get to. Epcot, we would have rather dealt with a bus. 😂 We also liked Gran Destino and honestly, can't beat the price for such a nice resort. We are pretty much priced out of Monorail resorts.

This trip we are trying AKL as we are kind of tired of the Epcot resorts.

You may be on to something!!!! 😏

Also a good choice! Just depends if the group feels that moving rooms is worth the bus rides to MK or not
This actually is how we've done Disney the last few years. Although we have hoppers we like to be close to the parks/restaurants we want to be at that particular day. Not that we won't go to MK from BW or Epcot from Poly but you get the idea.

For me the Monorail resorts win between Monorail and Crescent Lake because they at least have QS restaurants. The Crescent Lake restaurants are more bakery and stuff without good gluten-free options.

I’m a Lodges girl myself! Love AKL and Wilderness… I’m a “watching giraffes from the balcony” snob I guess! It’s nice that there are so many diverse options to suit everyone’s tastes!
