Oh, I'm nervous. I live right near where the eye is supposed to hit...I'm hoping we evacuate. The winds are going to be horrible.

I'd like to request that the DISers please, please, say prayers for the Gulf Coast... we're about to recieve a major beating.

I saw New Orleans has a 20% chance. Last time a hurrican hit New Orleans we had an actual tornado from that storm system in Wisconsin.

The traffic out of the city is a nightmare right now. Bob Breck on Fox 8 is saying right now to wait or otherwise you'll be in gridlock. We'll be doing just that, I think. This is gettiing nerve-wracking right now! I can't stand all the doomsday scenarios for New Orleans. I live blocks from Lake Pontchartrain so the thought of sitting in my attic with rats and snakes doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun. I hate Ivan!

Prayers and pixie dust for everyone. We are in the same postion here in mississippi but chose not to evacuate since we are in high area so should be okay. Still being told 70-100 mpg winds for us! Yikes.

honestly? what storm was that and when did it happen? my 12 DD was just asking the other day if WI can feels hurricanes , etc and i would like to to share this with her ( dear old mom had no clue)

Our entire family lives south of New Orleans. My mom and grandparents evacuated to here today. I hoping we don't get much here. Normally it takes my mom about 1.5 hours to get here...today, with traffic, took almost 4 hours!
