we just got new iphones before this we had flip phones

so my DH got me an itunes card and my DD programed it in--somehow either from buying the phones or from itunes I got an extra $10 on my account

so my DD bought an album on my itunes account that I wanted plus some singles but now I somehow got an album that I dont want and never bought it just showed up with the songs I did buy--there are some singles that I didnt want didnt order that somehow got on my account

I went through itunes to see about deleting these songs--the instructions seemed easy enough

I was told to sweep left until a red delete button came up on the right and click on it--so I did and nothing deleted!!!

so know I have no clue what to do--does anyone know how to delete songs and somehow I need a credit
and it also said that if theres an icloud symble (whatever that is) you cant delete it--which seems odd

please and advice or tips would be greatly appriecated--thaks all

When you delete a song you delete it from being stored on your device. Purchases remain on your account and you can download them again, which is why you see the iCloud symbol. Even "free" songs are called "purchases" by iTunes. If you think you were charged for songs that you didn't purchase you need to contact Apple about a possible credit.

Sometimes Apple gives you free music - I had a stupid U2 album on my phone for months! Even free U2 music isn't good music lol. And I didn't download it but it still played when I shuffled my music. So annoying!

First, make sure you did actually pay for it. Then contact Apple about getting a refund. If you don't see a charge for it, it may be promotional. You can go to settings > music > show all music and slide that to the off position. Then it will only display the music you manually put on or downloaded. None of the free promotional music.

in iTunes on your computer make sure you take those songs off the playlist for your phone and delete them from the library if you don't want them at all. I've had songs come back once I synced my phone with the computer if I don't take care of the playlist and library.

thanks for the help getting these songs off my phone--Im not good with computers so what do I need to go into on my computer to get rid of these songs

thanks again

Not liking something doesn't make it bad, or awful. Everyone's entitled to an opinion. Just because you don't choose to give a chance to different genres, or classic musicians. U2 is pretty awesome. Think about this - how many of the singer's you all consider good/great are still going to be making hits and drawing crowds 30+ years from now?

Your daughter probably put an iTunes icon on your computer screen. If not you can search for iTunes from the start tab. In iTunes you should see the library. She may or may not have set up separate playlists for your phones.

I was being facetious - my personal tastes in music are questionable at best ;)

OP, usually one you hook your phone up to your computer using the usb cable a box will pop up asking what you want to do. If you've got iTunes on your computer it should give you that option to launch iTunes. Once in iTunes you can click on your device and then edit its content. hard to explain in writing. Maybe try searching a youtube video on how to do it?
