Right now DD12 has been purchasing apps and songs on my Itunes account for her Itouch but wants her own Itunes account so she can use her Christmas gift cards. If I set her up with her own Itunes account and she syncs her Itouch with the new account will she lose all of the apps and songs that are already on her device? Will they automatically transfer to the new Itunes account?

Thanks for any help! I have searched the Apple forums and don't see this question addressed.

Yes, you can. My son regularly takes songs and movies from my itunes account and loads them up on his iphone. Of course, I don't know how to do this exactly. He knows everything about syncing and downloading, but he's already in bed for the night.

Does he also have his own Itunes account so that he is essentially using 2 Itunes accounts for his Iphone?

I just don't want her to lose what she has on her Itouch already by opening a new Itunes account.

2nd question is - can we have 2 Itunes accounts on 1 computer?

Yes, he does have his own account. When he plugs in his iphone to the computer, his account pops up. The computer somehow knows which phone is which. (We have an Apple computer - don't know if that makes a difference or not) His account is different than mine and has his "teen music" and stuff. So, he has his own account, but is able to take things from mine also.

As to the second question - yes. Both accounts are on our main computer.

I wish I could tell you how he does it, but he's asleep.

All 4 of us have iTunes accounts on our computer, no problems.

To transfer something, just copy it from one account and paste it to the other one. Then you have to go to iTunes and tell it to add it to the other account. You have already bought it, so you don't have to pay again.

Thanks. We have a MacBookPro so hopefully I can get everything set up for her easily tomorrow.

Thanks! She said she was tired of accidentally loading MY music on her Itouch. She will be glad to have her OWN account and I don't run the risk of boring her with my "oldies" music.
