This seems stupid but Apple makes it so hard to find info: I found an iTunes gift card in the house and it has not been scratched off. That means it has not been used, right?

If the number had been used Apple will not accept it when you enter it. Scratch it off and try it.

Funny I just scratched one as I was sitting here. Yes, it should mean that. If you don't scratch it off, you wouldn't be able to use it.

Just echoing what others said. Scratch it off and try to add it to your account. If it has been used it will tell you that. Otherwise SCORE!
