I KNOW I said it last year.. but fer real, next year we are packing less! Especially if YOU plan on doing something silly again, wink wink..

Her team won!! woot! although, she got scolded for being silly out on the field! our town takes soccer VERY serious! and once you hit 3rd grade all bets ar off and you better be on point. This is the year it gets serious and competitive! So she had to not sit there gabbing and giggling! She kicked butt though!

Gonna attempt another installment here.. won't be entirely too long.. I have yet to pack for NYC tonight..and you know how *I* pack

In case you can't tell by the pictures, Kayla was VERY surprised, and just smitten It took her a few seconds to get what was happening at first, but once she did!! It was all smiles and wow wow wow's! Then she got all serious on us, and said " ou know, that is lying and lying is unacceptable" bwhahaha! Anywho, the trip was off to an awesome start! We were on time, she was surprised!

After picking her up, we till had a few stops to make before we could officially hit the road (remind me NOT to do that next year!) At thus point, John realized he forgot the handle for the magic carpet..DOH' So he dropped me off at my eye dr. so I could get my new contatcs and he ran home real quick! After that we stopped off to see my grandma, who had road snacks and some busy work for the kids. Then we stopped at my bosses house so I could say bye to Noah (the by I nanny) and give her, her b-day gift!

At this point it was time to offically hit the road! It was 4:33 pm! Only 3 mins off schedule so far!

It was yucky out now, and that was giving me a sad! I hateee driving in the rain. Also, for some reason I was NOT excited yet about the trip. My depression has been kinda bad this year and I think that had to do with it! (Don't worry, once I hot the Mk I was over my sad) I can remember last year, i thought my head was going to explode I was so excited to go lol. this year I was much more cool,calm and collected.

I surprised John with:

oh, yes, a box of Pierre's chocolates (our fav chocs!) for the ride down! he was thrilled! I figured i would start the trip off fat, I mean right!

Things were going nice and smooth until we hit rush hour in Philadelphia

Philly looks so gross in the rain! I absolutely hated living there for the time we did! Especially when it rained! I'm def more of trees and greenery kinda gal!

So, funny story..well not so much for us, but it was right around the philly time when my lovely baby boy ask the questoin. I knowyou know which one I am talking about right?? insert whiny voice " mommmmmmmmmmmmmmy are we at Disneyyy yetttttt??" WHAT?? less than an hour into the drive and you are asking if we are there yet?? Kids actually DO ask this question. I thoght only kids on T.V. did that! NO, Jack, we are NOT there yet. Sawwy, ask again in about 23 hours!

Thank you lord for mini-vans with DVD players!!

Around 7 pm we decided it was time to stop and eat some dinner! At this point we were in Elkton, Maryland. We saw a Waffle House and decided to give it a try! For some reason, I have been obsessed with eating at one of these places. I was dying to try it. Not sure why..wasn't very good! Our waitress was so nice, but the cook and the other waitress were miserable, and cursing up a storm! ( I talk like a sailor, but these people had me beat!)

Stupid rain! I hate rain! best pic I could get considering the weather! I was not taking my new camera out in that stuff!

Anywho, once we were seated, jack was being terrrrible. I was starting to get worried about how he would do for the rest of the trip! i ordered quickly so we could eat and run, and hopefully he would fall asleep!

Jack had a cheese burger, Kayla had eggs and toast, john had a grilled texas bacon steak melt with loaded hashbrowns, and I had a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato

Oh, I would like to say, I was about to eat my food, when John slaps my hand and says " Take your food pics for the Dis.. did you forget already!?!" How cute is he??? I think my p lan is working!!

So, the food was ok. I am glad I finally got to try a waffle house, but I do not think we will be returning! our total bill was $29.15. We left $40.00. That poor waitress deserved a 100% tip for having to deal with her co-workers! She was SHOCKED at the tip we left her! I like to make people feel appreciated, even if it is just an extra tip! You don't get good in this world, without giving good back, and the fact that we are fortunate enough to take our kids to Disney AGAIN was proof of that! Pay it forward!

Also, and don't judge, John insisted that he needed to take the mug from the waffle house. So what does he do?? Stashes it in my purse!! Maybe I should leave that part out? Oh well, it made for good laughs later!

We brought along our Jack Skellington with the intention of taking pics of him in cool spots this year, ie:

but it was short lived! I kept forgetting that we had him!

Finally at 8:01 we were back in the car and hitting the road! Time to pull an allllllll nighter!!

*Next up- Ten thousand years can give you such a crick in the neck! Driving..driving and more driving.. how long did it take us to get to Orlando..what did we do along the way???

Ditto. We love breakfast at the Waffle House. We had it one day while at Disney and we are having it tomorrow morning on our drive back from Marco Island to Orlando. I love their omelets and hash browns (scattered, smothered and covered); DH loves their cheese and eggs with the grits!
