We are finally all set for our trip back to POFQ!!!! :cool1: Tuesday I got the Free Dining, Wednesday got the airline tickets, and then last nite, I was able to get Chef Mickey's for our first nite at WDW!!!! :cheer2: Now I just have to wait till August 22!!!! It will be so great to be back home!!! :wizard:

We are staying in PORS at the end of May. Our flight does not leave until 7:45 pm. Has anyone requested a late check out? If we deciede not to go the the parks that day can we hang out at the pool? Are there changing rooms by the main pool? I thought we could most of our luggage with bell services and just keep a carry on to put wet clothes in and enjoy the ground for the day? We are taking ME back to airport.

We are staying at POR in May. We plan on buying the refillable mugs. Can you also use them at POFQ? I am not trying to cheat the refillable mug system. I know the two resorts share the pools, but I wasn't sure about the mugs.

Thanks!

We were at POR in oct. and the mug actually has POR and POFQ on it. So I think it's safe to say you can use it at both.

I just wanted to post something in defense of "bad" rooms. I was in 34 (AB) of POR in March. Not 14 or 18, but right by the West bus depot, and a painless walk to the foodcourt. Not ideal, but I liked it.

Yep...they are sister resorts and I do believe their mugs are identical to one another. :thumbsup2

Yes, you can request a late check out for 1 pm. You have to go to the front desks the day before and give them your request and as long as there are not too many they will likely grant it. I think they just don't want the same section being cleaned by the same mousekeeper to end up with a ton of rooms having late check out. We had two rooms and they gave us late check out for 1 of them. We just moved all the stuff in the other room. You can chill at the pool as long as you want that day even after check out I believe. I don't know about a changing room....maybe a bathroom :confused3 .

Hello POR experts!!
It has been taking me a while to read all of these posts and I do have a few questions. Forgive me for possibly repeating any of the other posts but, I would like to know if we request #14 in AB, which location of the building should we ask for and how far in advance should we call?? I would like to be the closest to the food and bus's, but I have heard that #14 can be noisy at times, is this true? It seems like #'s 18, 27 are smoking opt.?? No smoking is a must!! My 1st chioce is #14 and as much info. about it would be GREAT thanx!!!

Of course, you probably know you're requesting the most requested building ;) Hope you do get your request!! :goodvibes You can out your request for that building in your reservation at any time and ask again at check-in. Some people do like to call 3 days before arrival. Sending PD :flower1:

I've stayed in building 14 twice, did not find it noisy at all. Wonderful location (I have MS so it was a huge help). Actually, didn't hear anyone.

One thing we found out when walking around other buildings to get familiar with locations is that people do smoke in non-smoking rooms. We saw it more than once as we walked by..if you smell smoke when you get to your room just call the front desk and they can have it specially cleaned for you while you're out. It's never happened to me in 40 visits to Disney Resorts, but I guess it could happen.

Have a wonderful visit! :flower:

We stayed in Bldg 38 and really enjoyed the location. It was close to a quiet pool and a 10 minute walk (with 3 kids) to the pool and just a couple minutes further over the bridge to the food court/lobby. It was quiet and peaceful. Close to the bus stop. Just a thought :)

Some Pics from last week if anyone is interested.

Riverside Pics

Beautiful pictures!

We're staying at POR for the first time in July! I went against the grain and requested Bldg. 27. I figured everyone asked for 14, 15, or 18 so maybe I would have a better shot at 27. :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the pics. We were in AB 16 last July. They brings back great memories.

Just checked out your POR Photos, Looks Beautiful !
We are staying there in November, this really gets me excited to be there!

Thanks MICKMAN!!!! I am now relieved and pleased to say that I will not be changing our ressie for November!! POR here we come!! Yippee!!

One question though for all who have been there--my DS is a video game nut. :). How's the arcade?? Oh yeah, and will the pool be warm enough to swim in November (that would be 2 questions)?? TIA!!! :goodvibes

We just got back last week and stayed in bldg !7. We requested 14 or 16, but did not get it. We were on the bottom floor which was a blessing with the stroller everday. We probably had a 10 minute max walk to the bus stop and main bldg, but it was not bad at all. We had a pool practically outside the door (which did have restrooms for changing by the way). Noise was not a problem except for the family who checked in at 3 AM one morning next door, couldn't find their room keys and talked and coughed loudly for about 15 minutes, but that could have happened anywhere. My son had the best time "frog hunting" with his flashlight in the ponds after we got in from the parks. Bus service was great. Very fast. I highly recommend staying close to the South Depot bus stop. We never waited longer than 5 minutes and were almost always the first dropped off on the way home. We only had to stand on the bus one time coming home.
