Anyone have any feedback on the Sassagoula River Adventure cruise? We have reservations for the kids next month and was just wondering if anyone else's kids have already been on it and if they liked it! Also, how was the lunch? Thanks!

Do they provide Life Jacket at the Ole Man Island Pool, or bring our own from home ???
Hate to travel with a bulky Life Jacket on the plane (takes up way too much space in my suitcase that I reserve for bringing home all my purchases!!)
Have little toddlers and was wondering.
And if so, free ?? or rental fee ???

You can get slushies, but I think it's only at the food court.

Has anyone been to both the POFQ main pool and the POR main pool? Which is most appealing for 7-9 year olds? How far of a walk is it to POFQ from POR?

I think the walk is about 10-15 minutes, depending on how many things your kids need to stop and examine, bugs, blades of grass etc.

We have stayed at both resort. My kids prefer the POR pool and did at 7-9 years, but lots of kids like the slide at POFQ.

Building 14 and 18 in ALligator Bayou are close to everything. I love Alligator Bayou!

there is a hair wrap station by the boat dock at POR. I'm not sure of the price. They charge by the inch and extra for beads. If you have medium to long hair it is expensive. Each of my girls got 1 wrap and they was over $30.00 each!!! They last for 1-2 months though.

Was just wondering if the Ole Man Island Pool supplies Life Jackets for toddlers/kids.......Or do I need to lug ours from home ???
Anyone know??? If so, rental fee or free ???

They had lifejackets and inflated balls at the pool areas at Pop Century in July. I am sure they will have them at POR. Have a great time.

I have a quick question about a room request. I've stayed at POR a few times, but it was ages ago, back when it was Dixie Landings.

Once I stayed in AB and the other was in The Mansion side.

Since we have five people, I plan on requesting either buildings 14, 18 or 27. Right now I have a standard room on hold.

What difference would it make, considering these three building choices, to upgrade to waterview? The cost is pretty nominal, but is the view even worth it?

No personal experience -- we'll be there for the first time next week -- but everything I've read here on the DIS says that it's not worth it to pay extra for a water view.

After looking at some of the pics, it looks like the "rustic" beds in AB may be a little higher than the other beds. Is my assumption correct? Are those the ones with the trundles?

That's actually a good thing for us. Our DS 7 has cerebral palsy and having a higher bed means less bending over when doing transfers.

I booked standard view. It just seems stupid to pay extra for a view, if you can't sit out on a balcony to enjoy it.

We've been there a few times. I've stayed in building 14 and 18. Both times had standard view which was fine. I don't think the upgrade would be worth it.
