has anyone not gotten a room request granted when they checked in late. we will be getting to por around 10 pm. my requests are first floor (my sister will be in a wheelchair) facing a quiet pool. we paid for a water view.

I'm guessing that this is one case where contacting the resort the day before you arrive would probably help. If you explain the late check-in (you can even say that you are contacting them to reconfirm the booking as you will be arriving so late) and the reason for the special request then I would hope the CMs would be able to find you a suitable room. Building 18 would be closest for the main food court, buildings 16 or 17 best for easier access to the car parks.

We are staying in FQ from 2nd Dec for 14nights, this will be our second visit, the first being last september at CBR. We chose FQ cos it looks quite cool and hopefully better than CBR (hated the internal bus service).

Have requested a king room, are they located in a specific building or is there one in every building?

Can someone confirm that their are boats that go to the Animal Kindgom Park? We are checking in post cruise in a month and plan to go right to DAK.

That transportation website indicates there is a boat that goes directly there, but I have never seen anyone that has mentioned it anywhere.

Definitely not, there are no boats to AK at all - sorry. There aren't even any inside the park any more since they shut down the river cruise attraction almost as soon as the park opened.

Although for a Port Orleans link, there has been talk for some time that they might move the boats which used to run that AK river route over onto the Sassagoula River at some point...

We were at POR in Sept and the boat only went to Downtown Disney. You had to take buses to all the parks.

One of my earliest memories of my childhood is when my grandmother took me and my brother to Disney, and we stayed at the Contemporary... She took us to the arcade, and kept feeding us quarters to play games. I have no idea how much $$ she went through that nite, but we had a ball... How's the arcade at POR? My parents are staying with us for 2 nites (in their own room) and I am hoping they do the same with my kids.. They would love that...

Also, I can't find any comments on the food court??? Good, bad or indifferent...

I'm not much of a gamer, but I understand that the POR arcade is one of the biggest ones in WDW so your kids should have a blast. It'll be a lot more expensive these days though!!

Food court is fine, not fancy but decent food at reasonable (for Disney!) prices. Not at extensive as the one at CSR, but much better than the food courts at the deluxe hotels. Can get very busy at peak times and you have to queue to pay after collecting your food, so if the till queues are massive I'd eat it in the queue while it's still hot...

Umm, I think someone is pulling your leg -- or they are a bit confused. The boats go from POR to POFQ to DTD, and that's it. I believe there are also boats from SS and OKW to DTD. If you want to go to the AK, MK, HS, Epcot or any of the water parks, you need to get on a bus. There is a boat from MK to the Wilderness Lodge, maybe that is what you're thinking of...

As a tip the kids breakfast is a bargin. I usually buy several to go and bring back to room and then wake everyone up to eat.
