It's the little things that bother me...Cast Member parking around Villas

I think for the 40k buy-in I invested in DVC I should have a parking space within a reasonable distance of my villa (and I'm one of the weird ones who likes a long walk.) And I feel I have every right to critique the program here as much as I like. I think there have been many good improvements that have come about due to the Disboards and folks sharing their experiences.

I have watched Mousekeeping leave SSR en masse and get into their cars, all up by the villas.

I am sorry, but everyone who's ever had a retail/customer service job with a parking lot is told on their first day where they are supposed to park, and this is an area where DVC needs to correct their staff.

OP, please send an email to member satisfaction!

As a highly educated, highly trained retired professional I set very high standards for myself, children and anyone I conducted business with. I expect what I have paid and contracted for to be fulfilled. I keep my word and expect others who do business with me to do the same. As a DVC member for 20+ years I have seen a decline in DVC's attempt at customer service and fulfilling the contractual agreements they agreed to in the public offering.

What do you call it when two of the housekeeping staff REFUSE to service your room as per the membership guidelines, housekeeping supervisor and front desk supervisor. I expect what I pay for! DVC Member Services agreed that the housekeeping I received at Aulani was substandard. As a relatively new resort, I do expect some growing pains.

I do not believe in Disney "Magic" or "pixie-dust".

I live full-time in my timeshares and over the last 21 months I've had a lifetime of experience (compared to normal timeshare owner) with about 15 different timeshare companies. I am sadden to see DVC continue a slow slide into mediocrity. It was SO much more. With that said, DVC is still a good place to stay and own, but just not the quality it was during the first 5-7 years that I own it. Not unlike many successful companies that grow quickly and lose their focus on the core mission that made them successful. There still good companies, but the quality has suffered.

"Nothing seems to live up to your expectations" , not true... Fiesta Americana Vacation Club (Los Cabos MX) and Club Intrawest (Sandestin FL, Blue Mountain Canada, Zihuatanejo MX) both have been fantastic ownership/vacation experiences!! FAVC philosophy is for their staff to anticipate your every need and fulfill it before you realize there is something you need. Service there is truly without equal. At Club Intrawest the manager's main focus is member satisfaction, especially Amy at their Sandestin location. The best resort manager anywhere!

I have no idea what your experience has been with the timeshare/travel industry, but if you feel that DVC is a leader in customer service, I politely suggest you try other timeshares/companies to get a good comparison.

I make comments to Member Services about every 2nd or 3rd stay. My complaints run about 55% and my complements to their staff run about 45%. Overall, not a bad mix.

The light rain shower is over. Time to hit the beach in St Thomas - Wyndham's Elysian Resort. :woohoo: Back to DVC at SSR March 10-22. :yay: I really love retirement - having the time of our lives :cloud9:

You've got my vote! :thumbsup2

I didn't think of this until just now. But in today's cell phone world, I am hoping I might think to pull out my cell phone and take a video or snap a picture of the offender/car - and then give that picture evidence to the resort manager and member satisfaction. Not much they can dispute then, and maybe more importantly - they would be able to address the actual offender than some generic reminder to all, including those that abide by the rules.

I hope you enjoy living in your Timeshares and enjoy you retirment but please do not think that being "highly educted" means you are more intelligent or entitled to complain more than anyone else.

Give peace a chance - personal attacks not necessary.

I never implied ANY of the points you raised.

I actually did take a picture! :rotfl2: There was not just one CM parking in guest areas, though. The CM who checked us in (when I first complained about it) admitted that she had trouble finding a parking spot when she came in to work that morning...she suggested we look for parking at another building. We actually had to do that a couple of times during our stay.

We saw the same thing happening at OKW - right outside of our villa (building 15 area).

I would be careful taking video with sound without the compete permission from everyone involved. You could be breaking Florida law and be subject to a law suit!

Reading all the notes about CM parking at OKW has anyone really talked face to face with front desk. We have been staying OKW since 93 and CM parking near or across the bridge for as long as i can remember. We are usually there for 2 weeks and see this happen early in AM when managers and staff come in. If i remember asking about it years ago this is the program.

Talk to a CM's about CM parking issues, that probably won't go very far. ;)

We stayed at SSR when it first opened in a studio for a few days. I went to the laundry room at Congress Park and none of the washers were working. So I drove over to the larger one by the High Rocks Spring pool. The staff from the spa were using the member laundry room to wash and dry their linens/towels. It made it hard to find a washer and dryer to use. I should have said something about it at the time, but didn't. Bad me.
