If you got your cake from this vendor, which cake flavor and filling combinations did you end up choosing? Any reviews?

That is not good to haear! My wedding is in 10 days and I have already paid a deposit. Yikes! I think it is too late to change or I will lose my deposit. I also chose them based on someones recommendation here on this board.

I'd try to change if they'll refund your deposit...I just can't recommend them after my experience.

Wow, Sarah, I'm so sorry about your cake! Unacceptable!

We've had our cake booked with It's Tasty Too since February and so far have been very happy with their service.

We ordered funfetti with buttercream for 2 layers and amaretto with amaretto filling for our other two layers. They were delicious at our trial!!

Since being in the wedding boards since 2009, I have only ever heard good things about Its Tasty too. This is the first negative review that I've personally read, if you cannot get your deposit back I would not be too concerned as they come highly recommended on here...

Sarah, Sorry your experience wasn't good...but like I commented in your PJ, down the road when you are celebrating your anniversaries, I promise you will only remember the most magical moments and not the bad ones

Giffy, I wanted to give you a quick update. Last night I laid awake thinking about this and the more pictures of our cake I looked at the more upset I became. My feelings were really hurt because I felt like since I had a small wedding my cake didn't matter to them. I ended up emailing pictures of the cake to Heather along with a description of the things that were wrong. This morning I woke up to a full refund and an email back stating that she agrees the cake was a mess and won't try to make excuses for it, she's sorry about the quality.

I would say at this point, at least they stand by their work and own up to making a mistake. I was not expecting any kind of refund so that was nice. I still wish it was made properly for our wedding, I really looked forward to that cake for months.

Hi , I like to look at the pics over here (dd may be getting married soon).

After i read about the problem with the cake.. I was looking at the thread with cake photos... I noticed another cake from this bakery where you could also see the dowel holes (though not quite as sunken as the ones in this thread).

Maybe you need to be sure to mention if you are not going to use a cake topper... so they can know to do something differently.

Ak, even if you're not going to have a cake topper the top of the cake should be smooth. You should never know there's a dowel under there, nevermind it looking like there's a volcano about to erupt from the center of your cake haha.

Giffy sweetie - I am sorry that Sunflower had such a difficult experience with Heather from 'It's Tasty', but my experience was completely the opposite!!! Heather was wonderful at communication and our cake was wonderful - just what I asked for. Heather even reproduced a fondant 'swan' topper for us. I sent her a picture of this that I had pulled off the internet, and with no more instruction than that, reproduced it perfectly!!

N.B. The aqua fondant ribbon is supposed to be 'wrinkled' on the top as it is supposed to look like a draped ribbon

Our cake tasted wonderful and stayed fresh and edible for several days after our VR. I ate some for breakfast four days after our big day!!!
Our flavours were carrot with cream cheese filling and coconut with pineapple filling. Both were delicious!!
It seems that Heather really dropped the ball on this one, but realized her mistake and tried to make the best she could of it with a full refund.
Try not to worry too much, sweetie!! This is the first negative review I have read about Heather (among many positive ones). It was obviously an off day, and whilst I realize this is no comfort to poor Sunflower, I am sure your cake will be great!!!

Oh I agree! I am glad they gave you a refund... but for such a once in a lifetime day a refund really does not make things right...

Huh...I do notice the dowel marks now that you mention it. I guess if I were going to order a cake from them, I would make sure to mention this to them.

I used It's Tasty Too and LOVED them! I'm local so I tried several different bakeries and loved the flavor here the best (even more so than the disney cakes!) And they created EXACTLY what I wanted...I'm sorry that the poster above had something go wrong...how awful! But I would highly recommend them and will be using htem again in the future!

We used It's Tasty Too for our grooms cake too. It was a surprise for Adam and they did an amazing job. I was only feeding about 10-15 people (we had it in our 2 bedroom villa before we went out for our last night as "single" people) and they still made an extraordinary cake. I sent them an inspiration pic and what they came back with was awesome. I only contacted them about a month or so out and we didn't do a lot of communicating but I found them to be prompt. I feel so bad for Sarah because ours was just about a week or so before her's. I just wanted to post a recent positive experience for you.

What you are seeing are NOT dowel marks, we had the small vinylmation bride/groom as our cake topper. They were moved off the cake so we could cut it without them tumbling off, and what you are actually seeing in that shot are the imprints left from their 'feet' because the fondant was very soft. If you look in front of the cake you can see the 2 vinylmations laying in front.

We had amazing service from Heather and Jay at It's Tasty Too and I don't want anyone else thinking that our cake was in any way 'damaged' or 'imperfect'. The link below is a photo that they took before delivery and you can clearly see that the top of the cake is completely smooth and flat.

I am sorry that the previous poster had such a negative experience, but it looks as though Heather did her utmost to rectify the situation. Our cake was perfect, and I would highly recommend them.

Ahh... I see the little vinylmations now. When I first looked I thought the large one might have been your cake topper and saw that the prints would have been bigger. I apologize.

Thank you all for making me feel better! It is obviously too late to get my deposit back now, so I am hoping for the best! Our cake design is pretty simple.

Oh and we went with chocolate cake for one layer, with chocolate fudge filling, and vanilla cake for the other with chocolate ganache and whipeed cream fillings.So if anyone has tried these flavors at Its Tasty Too let me know.

This last week has been so stressful with all of the wedding stuff, at this point I am just over it. Whatever will be will be. Just going to go with the flow and enjoy the day.
