Well, Dh and I have been planning this July trip since January. First, we were going to stay at CBR for 7 nights. After going in Feb and looking around at CBR, we decided that while a beautiful resort, it just wasn't us, so up to BC. Then after pricing out the BC, using what I knew the AP rate in the past to be, we decided to use that money, and buy more DVC points. At least then we'd have more points to use per year, and could stay 5 nights at BCV with our add-on. Well, we THEN decided that 5 nights wasn't enough and added on 2 nights at CBR since the AP rate was CHEAP. Again, we decided the rooms weren't to our liking and we don't like the exterior doors, so we moved up to WL standard view. After reading a post about how MOST standard views overlook the service areas of the resort, we then upgraded to the Woods view. Now, we've stayed at VWL three times and LOVE IT, but we then this weekend we got worried that WL would lose the "magic" for us if we stayed in a regular room there, since we're always in at least a one bedroom. So, this morning we decided to move yet again to the Poly. Well, when I called I was told both the Poly and GF (our other choice) were sold out, but there was availability at AKL (another fave). I was perplexed as to what to do. I decided to do the call back to see if maybe someother CM could help me out. Well, I called and this CM said right away, "I see Poly GV available with an AP rate for your dates!" I was SO EXCITED!! I told her to book it, and then she had a problem booking it, since it was according to her screem available. Then she put me on hold to call Guest Services, and comes back saying that some people have had a problem booking it the way she has, and to try it a different way. Well she tries the way GS had told her, and that still doesn't work. Back on hold I go. After 25 minutes on hold, she FINALLY comes back and says she finally got us the rate. I'm guessing that the Poly was truly sold out, like I was told earlier, but it just showed available for some reason on her screen. I think we got an override for our rate, due to the length I was on hold. So, it does sometime pay to double check availability, especially when they tell you it isn't available!!!!!
