It's our "Last" Trip to WDW, so we're going DELUXE! *We're Back After 11 Days in WDW*

whew--big changes! I agree with most others in saying you should not alter your plans to accommodate the last minute joiners. I am a little perplexed on why they would only by one park ticket for the six days there--do they have plans to see other places? I would definitely give them the heads up about what your plans are so they are not blindsided when you leave to go the parks and eat without them. I would hope your MIL would have explained some our plans to them.

Love the Parisian party idea! So cute and so appropriate. :) There are so many cute things you can do with that theme. :goodvibes:

Shoes! Call me goofy but I do like hearing about what shoes and bags people like. I have Keens that I am in love with and planning on those being my main park shoe. Like you, I want to get a backup pair. I am not one to wear athletic shoes outside of working out or working around the house.

cute April Fool's day breakfast :)

Hi! I just stumbled upon your PTR and I am loving it! Sounds like you have an amazing trip planned! I love the bunny cake, so cute! Williams Sonoma has the cutest pans I love going in there just to admire them :) Sounds like you all had a very happy Easter!

wow! You had a busy weekend! Great cake! Looks professional...loving the easter baskets as well...i spend my Easter sleeping because I'm working the graveyard shift tonight...what fun! :sad2:

Thanks so much!:goodvibes Hopefully you made it through the graveyard shift. My husband and I each work overnite on occasion so I know how that can be.:sad2:

Great job on the cake! I agree - looks better with the grass. :thumbsup2

You have a gorgeous living room! Love the color of your walls. :goodvibes

Thanks...yes, I was glad I thought to do the grass. And had enough extra icing and green food coloring on hand!;)

The bunny cake is fabulous!!! You did a great job! And I love it with the grass - so cute!

It looks like a wonderful Easter day! :goodvibes

Thanks Sara! It was a perfect day!!!:goodvibes

Awesome Easter pics! I wish my living room looked that tidy....

Thanks Amanda! I have finally discovered the secret to a tidy living room...don't put a tv in it! We allow toys, and enjoy spending time together, reading and listening to music. But what saves this room from getting untidy is the lack of a tv or computer! It is the only room that is constantly tidy save for Christmas day, around 9am!:rotfl:

I love the Easter Bunny cake. So cute!

Thanks! The kids and I really enjoyed making it!:goodvibes

Great job on the cake! I agree - it does look better with the grass :thumbsup2

Yes, I think so too. Definitely that will be a permanent addition to this cake!;)

Aww, I'm glad you guys had a great Easter/weekend! That cake is terrific-- pastry bags/tips make things look so fancy!

Yes, and although time consuming it was pretty straight forward to make. I followed the recipe on the Williams Sonoma website to a "T" and the cake came out so delicious! It was seriously one of the best cakes I have ever baked. Definitely a keeper!:)

Love the cake! And I agree, it looks much better with the grass. Wow! They got lots of Easter goodies! I also loved the April Fools breakfast. You're the second person I've seen that did this. I had never heard of it! :confused3

Yes, the Easter bunny definitely treated us well this year. Too well. Between the cake and the chocolate bunnies, I have not been doing too good at all on starting a pre-trip diet!

Actually, there may be some developments with the touring plans for our new additions. And in fact, we may be having 4 more additions, brining our total to 12 for at least 1 day! Stay tuned...I will update once everything is finalized!

Yes, there are many things to do with the Paris theme...I am having fun planning! Next weekend I will be doing a lot of preparations.

I too like to read about Park bags and shoes - you aren't alone there! You can learn so much here on the boards!:)

Hello, and Welcome!!! :welcome: Thank you so much for reading and posting! :goodvibes

The bunny cake was my first experience with a Williams Sonoma cake pan, but we had a great time doing it! I will be keeping my eye out for other pans in future!;) I could drop a small fortune in that store!

Fantasyland Closures beginning....

I knew I was jinxing things by getting excited about the lack of extensive attraction closures during our trip.

AllEars is reporting today that Ariel's Grotto and Pooh's Playful Spot will be closing effective April 11 to make way for the Fantasyland Expansion.

Pooh's Playful Spot I could deal with. But I have to admit, I am a little disappointed about Ariel's Grotto. Ariel is Katie's favourite Princess so I know she will be disappointed.

I guess I will just remind myself why the closures are happening. I can't wait to see how Fantasyland is going to look when it is all done!

Still hoping that Toontown stays intact for our trip though!;)

What cute pictures of Katie with Ariel! I wouldn't worry too much. Although the Grotto will be closed, I would bet there are times and places to meet and greet with Ariel still.

Katie looks absolutely adorable in her Little Mermaid dress!

Is it just me, or did that Arial go a little overboard with the painted on eyebrows????

I agree with swwake - I bet they will have an Arial meet and greet set up someplace else, she's too popular to stay gone the entire time that they are renovating Fantasyland.

Yes, I hope they come up with an alternative meet for her! We have ADRs at CRT and Akerhaus, but I much prefer photos taken in character greeting spots over restaurants!;)

:rotfl: about the painted eyebrows!

Yes, I loved that little dress and so did Katie. I have such great memories from that trip!:lovestruc

Yummm, I love the bunny cake and the great set of easter bags and goodies for the kiddos. How fun to wake up to that!!! With boys, I don't pay that much attention to the princess stuff, so closing Ariel's Grotto would be something that I probably wouldn't read... now if you said POTC was closing for refurb.... then we'd be in a major panic :rotfl2: I wish I had a little girl to dress up as a princess, so I love to see all the pretty pictures in the trip reports. Especially in the princess costumes!

Hi. I happened to come across your PTR today and have thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I must confess that I had to interrupt the reading to jump over to the Lands' End website and place an order myself. Unfortunately I missed the free shipping offer. Oh well. You should get a commission from Lands End!!

You are an amazing baker by the way. You may think that those pan cakes are simple but you definitely have a talent for baking and decorating. Where did you get the cookies that you had in the previous party pics? Also what were your ideas for favors at those various themed parties. I love to hear and see the various touches that people add to their parties to bring the entire theme together.

Thank you for sharing your planning. It is fun to read.

Great shots with Ariel! I love her dress! I think I read somewhere that Ariel will be meeting in Adventureland! Not sure why there, doesn't seem like a good fit, but I read that it will be Ariel (with legs) AND Prince Erik...so that's kinda nice! Don't know if it's true or not, but at least she would be there somewhere! I'll try to find the link about it and post it here.

I agree though, the changes are going to be great....a whole new Ariel ride!! Woo-hoo!

Sara

I am subbing in too.

We also have a 4 year old Declan...so cool.

Can't wait to hear all about your trip. :goodvibes

Happy belated Easter to you and your family! Love the bunny cake and all the easter bunny gifts for the kids. I like all your easter decorations too. :goodvibes

Like the others have said, I wouldn't worry to much about the closures. It would be great to see Ariel with Erik somewhere else. Hopefully they won't be closing anything else while you are there. Love the pictures of Katie with Ariel - so adorable!!

Great PTR! I am really enjoying reading it. What a great trip planned, Contemporary, Poly, and Beach Club. We love the Beach Club, we were able to stay there one night last June and it was great. We really enjoyed storm along bay. :thumbsup2

I would love to see a live shuttle launch. I looked it up and it is happening May 15. We will not be seeing it either :sad2:

Awesome Birthday Parties! and the Bunny Cake was just too cute! :cutie:

looking forward to more :)

Ariel was my favorite when I was little. I remember when the movie came out. Ha! :lmao: My mom wanted to burn the VHS because I wanted to watch it over and over again and I couldn't stop singing the songs. I think was like 6.......or 7 maybe? But I still enjoy the music and I always drag DH to go see the show with me. I wanted to go talk to Ariel at Tokyo Disney Sea but I didn't want to pay for the photo I should have just done it though! I'm sure she would have wanted someone to speak to her in English! Hah :rotfl:

That is too bad about Ariel's Grotto. All the websites I have seen don't have her in her new home with Eric until May 9, which is the day we leave and we aren't going to any parks! :sad1: I am hoping we can still find her somewhere, but it doesn't seem likely! It seems like the 9th is the day for all the big character changes, so we will get to see most of the ones that are there now. I am excited that the UP characters will still be around, because that is one that the boys really like so they will be into meeting them.

Thanks! :goodvibes Yes, I can't imagine the lack of Ariel's Grotto will cause your boys too much concern thankfully!:rotfl:

Thank you, and Welcome!!! :welcome:

First off - glad that you were able to score a deal on the Lands End website. I am being a fan for sure of the overstocks - great prices for everyone in the family on basics and footwear!;) Plus, I find their clothing styles for the kids are getting a bit more stylist this year, plus, I love their new canvas line for adults.

Thanks for the tip Sara! Unfortunately it appears Ariel is not going to be set up in her new home in Adventureland until May 9th, so we will miss her this time.:sad2: Oh well, we got great pictures with her on past trips, and we will still hopefully see her at Akerhaus and possibly CRT.:)

I am subbing in too.

Thanks so much for posting, and Welcome!!!:welcome:

How coincidental that you have a Declan as well! And that he is also 4 years old! That is too funny! It certainly isn't a common name over here in North America!;)

Happy belated Easter to you and your family! Love the bunny cake and all the easter bunny gifts for the kids. I like all your easter decorations too. :goodvibes

Thanks Michelle!:goodvibes Unfortunately we may miss Ariel's meet and greet by a couple of days. But I am sure we will still see her at some point!

Such adorable Ariel pictures.:cutie: They are reporting on this site that Ariel will still be available at the adventureland veranda. She'll have legs and Eric will be with her.

Darn! Checked and she won't be there til after we leave. Oh well!

This just cracks me up for some reason. :rotfl:

Thank you so much for joining!:welcome: Yes, I am getting really excited about this trip. It is definitely our big "splurge" trip with the resorts and the deluxe dining! I can't wait for the kids to try out Stormalong Bay!:goodvibes

The shuttle launch was pretty amazing...too bad you will miss the May 15th launch as well.:sad2:

I don't pay for park photos either, but I might have been convinced to at Tokyo Sea. We love the show too!

Yes, we will be in the same boat with no Ariel at her Grotto or in the new Adventureland during our trip. I guess she must be taking a little holiday in between the move.:rotfl:

I too was amazed that the UP characters are still going to be out in the parks til May 9th. That will be nice, won't it?
