It's our "Last" Trip to WDW, so we're going DELUXE! *We're Back After 11 Days in WDW*

That is bad news about the slide, but like many others have said, the rest of the pool is part of the selling point of it as well. And the BW pool...well I'm sure its great but I must admit to being in the group that is a little scared of that clown slide! :scared1::lmao:

I agree with you about the clown!:rotfl: While it is disappointing that the slide won't be open our entire stay, I have actually come around to the view that we absolutely lucked out...at least we arrive in time to at least have a chance to try out the slide for one day before it closes. There are many who won't be so lucky.:sad2: So I actually think we got a degree of pixie dust there!:)

There is plenty to love about SAB without the slide. You will have a great time!!! Can't wait to hear all about it! :goodvibes

Tom went down the slide and said the slide wasn't slippery enough. He had trouble making it all the way down! (He's a big guy so I'm sure that didn't help!) The CM at the top was giving him tips to help him make it down all the way. I'm sure that's why they're rehabbing it!
The pool looked awesome though. Slide or no slide there's plenty to enjoy in that pool!!!

Let's Talk Swimsuits....

I'll be frank: I love shopping. Especially in preparation for a trip somewhere warm.

In past years (i.e. pre-kids), most of my pre-trip shopping energy was spent tracking down 2-3 "perfect" swimsuits for each warm-weather trip.

After I became a Mom, swimsuit shopping dropped down a few notches on my list of favourite things. What used to be a fun highlight of my pre-trip countdown has grown into one of the most hated, dreadful tasks on my pre-trip "to-do" list.

I have known about this trip for awhile, even before we booked into DVC at exactly 11 months prior to the trip. I kept promising myself that I would get in shape, lose a few (ok, quite a few!) pounds, and firm up before the trip. Sadly, I haven't followed through. I've basically done nothing to get my body ready for this trip. So the thought of doning any 2 piece in public, let alone my favourite Lilly Pulitzer bikini is completely out of the question.

Sadly, this one will not be joining me on this trip.

With my stash of cute bikinis relegated to a future trip after I finally lose my five year old "baby weight", the curse of finding a suitable swimsuit or two for this trip has been a thorn in my side for the past few months.

My challenge was to find a suit that (1) covered what needed to be covered (meaning a tank or tankini); (2) wasn't too dowdy or matronly, and (3) suited my body type. Sadly, this was not an easy task.

After one online order which proved disastrous, I ended up spying this suit in the Sale section on the J.Crew website:

At first glance, this suit met at least 2 of my criteria. It was modest enough to cover what needed to be covered, but was still a teeny bit sexy with the keyhole tie in front such that I wouldn't be mistaken for my mother.

The best part? It was only $19.99!!!

Of course it was the last one in stock, and I was half-expecting to get an email back advising that inventory had sold out before they could place the order. However, 2 days later I was notified that the order had shipped. Of course, it remained to be seen whether it would actually look good and/or fit.

Happily, when I tried the suit on a couple days later I was thrilled to discover that I finally had a suit that would work for the trip!

Wanna know the best part? About a week later, the exact same suit, in the exact same size I had ordered popped up in Black. Once again at the rock-bottom price of $19.99!!! My fingers danced so fast to complete that online order before it sold out...and now, I have the suit in both Navy and Black for the trip.

I was even able to pick up these from the J.Crew website to match the Navy suit:

Phew!!! With that out of the way, I was free to focus my shopping efforts on much more fun items for the trip, which I will report on in the next update!

Cute suit! I'm so glad you found something that you feel comfortable in. And I LOVE the flip flops!

Very cute! Ugh, I hate the swimsuit issue! I am just like you, planning for so long, "I have so much time to get in shape," and then it never happened. I'm not planning on doing much swimming on this trip and that is one reason why!!!! I'm glad you found one you like!

SO cute! (I love the Lilly suit, too, btw!) You're right, it strikes the perfect balance between providing coverage and still being fun and cute! Love the flip flops, too-- I'm crazy about the JCrew accessories. Love the headbands!

Can you believe $11.99??!!!

Plus, I had a code for free shipping!:cool1:

They are still selling them on the Lands' End website and I am seriously considering buying another pair for me, plus a couple pairs for Mother's Day gifts. They are *that* comfortable!:)

Women's Sport Ballet Shoes from Lands' End

Thank you for posting this!!! I just ordered the Sport Ballet Shoes for $19!! :yay: I'm so excited! I needed a good lightweight park shoe! I had a Lands'End catalog right on my dining room table with a free shipping code in it. :thumbsup2

Now you went and reminded me I need a new suit for my June trip. Unlike you I have given up all hope and have come to to the realization that even though I'm in shape (I'm planning on running a marathon in January for crying out loud. Never going to get more in shape than that.) I will always need a matronly bathing suit:confused3 So just as your shoe post inspired me to order some new shoes your bathing suit post is going to inspire me to search for a suit. My last couple have been from L.L Bean. Anyway you have got to quit shopping so much. It is rubbing off on me:rolleyes:

Hi! :wave2: I'm joining in a little late to this party. But I just saw that you will be there in May also. It's always fun to read what other people are planning and have discovered. i still have to go back and read, but I loved the beach Club! We stayed there our last visit and fell in love with it. :cloud9:
Okay, off to read the rest!

Hey Christine!!! Haven't seen you on the boards lately! Good to hear from you!:goodvibes

And yes...I am sure SAB is still going to be a blast, even without the slide. I am really looking forward to it!!!

BTW - I don't seem to recall a whole lot of posts from you about SAB. Did you use it much on past trips? I know you enjoyed reading and relaxing a lot around the resort, but did you use the pool much? The only time I really remember you posting about the pool was your brief encounter with Jimmy Dean!:rotfl:

Tom went down the slide and said the slide wasn't slippery enough. He had trouble making it all the way down! (He's a big guy so I'm sure that didn't help!) The CM at the top was giving him tips to help him make it down all the way. I'm sure that's why they're rehabbing it!

Yikes! Can you imagine how embarrassing that would be to get stuck on the slide??? My luck that would be me...maybe I might re-think trying the slide afterall.

Cute suit! I'm so glad you found something that you feel comfortable in. And I LOVE the flip flops!

Yes, if you can't love your thighs, you might as well love your swimsuit. And your flip flops!:rotfl:

Yes, I am still mad about not starting to get in shape. Not just for the trip, but for me in general. At this point there is not a whole lot I can do other than to resolve to finally start something when we get back. I have no intention of ruining a trip by starting to eliminate "bad foods" now, especially when I have been looking forward to Deluxe Dining for about a year now! However, this will be priority number one when we return!;)

I love that suit! And great price!!

Thanks! I love the price too!;)

Yes, I am a J.Crew addict. I am definitely on their hot customer list, or so they keep telling me. They keep sending me free gifts. Seriously! If that is not a sign you are spending a fortune in their store I don't know what is!

Cute suit and yay for a great price!! I hate swimsuit shopping :scared: not pretty!

Yeah...I am not a fan of swimsuit shopping either. At least for me!:rotfl:

I'm not sure if this is exclusively for Tables in Wonderland card holders, but you mentioned you were interested in a Mother's Day Brunch:

I should introduce myself shouldn't I! :rotfl: Hi, I'm Mare. Enjoying your report. I'll be there the same week as you, unfortunately I'm only staying 5 days :sad1: as this was a last minute trip thanks to the Disney Visa Kids free promotion and a hefty Jet Blue credit that was about to expire. :) I'll be in DHS on the 5th, I would have loved to attend the DIS meet in Mexico.

Yay! So glad you scored a deal! Last I checked my $11.99 shoes were still there too! I have been wearing them a couple days now over the weekends to "break them in". Still as comfortable as ever, and there really was no need to "break in". They have felt awesome from day 1. Yay for Lands End!:goodvibes

I really love the suit. :thumbsup2

Thanks!!! Not terribly exciting, but it does the trick!;)

Nope...I am not ready to give up hopes of one day getting back into a skimpy suit! At least not yet!;)

Good luck in your quest for finding that perfect suit. If you do venture over to J.Crew, in my experience their suits run a tad big. I actually ordered a smaller size when I placed my order as I was expecting to have started exercising and eating better before the trip so as to have lost 5-10 lbs. As it turns out, the suits fit me fine as it was. So if there was any silver lining in the fact that I never got around to starting to work out before the trip, that was it!:rotfl:

Yes, we are definitely getting close now! Are you getting excited??!!! Where will you be staying this trip? Look forward to keeping each other company as we countdown to vacation!:goodvibes

Hi Mare! :welcome: So glad you have joined, and of course, glad you got those shoes as a result of my TR!;)

Thank you so much for posting about the Mother's Day Brunch. I hadn't heard of this at all. I noticed information about the Disneyland event, but hadn't heard about this. Of course it figures that it would only be open to TIW guests. I had that card, and it just expired a few months ago!!!

If anyone out there is planning on going, and wants to have another family of 4 join them, let me know! We will even buy the drinks!;)

Oh well...I still have the Gospel Brunch booked, so I am not too disappointed. I just wish they were doing that fantastic Brunch again from 2007. Darn!:sad2:

What a cute swimsuit, and how lucky to find another one in black. Great matching flip-flops. You will be just so stylish at the pool!!

Well...if truth be told the best thing about the suit was the price, followed by the comfort factor.

But I completely agree about the flip flops...they are pretty cute, aren't they!;)
