It's our "Last" Trip to WDW, so we're going DELUXE! *We're Back After 11 Days in WDW*

Wow I booked through RCI for our trip in May and got Orange Lake which I love but will try for Disney property next time. Thanks for the tips I can not wait for our trip all dinner reservations planned and it will be our sons 3rd trip and he is only 4!

Oh my, another schedule change, and so close to departure. I know what a planner you are, so that really must be putting you into overload mode. You are handling it with honors!! And I see you've done more great shopping. Love the canvas bag! And the dresses are just lovely.

I'm sooo heading for J Crew when I land in LA!! Love that dress. Might be picking up at least one for myself (if it suits my body shape).

Your WDW wardrobe looks like it's in great shape and ready to go! It's getting so close.

I had never considered J. Crew for clothes shopping before, but with all of the cute stuff you have posted recently, I will have to keep them in mind. :thumbsup2

Love the first dress! :goodvibes

:welcome: Thanks so much for posting and welcome!

I have never stayed at the GF before, but it must have been a great place to honeymoon. Funny you should mention stopping at the Poly lounge before heading back each nite - we have very close friends who are devotees to the GF and they do the exact same thing!:) But they love their GF. In March they stayed at the BC and did not like it at all.:confused3 They tried to switch over to the GF but it was completely booked. Actually, even Heatherlynn (who I think may still be reading this PTR - Heather, Heather, are you there????) switched from the Boardwalk back to the Grand a few weeks ago. You GF people are very loyal indeed! Personally, though I haven't met a Disney resort I didn't like!:)

I am here! sorry lol! Yes yes we did end up switching back to our beloved grand floridian...too many fabulous family memories for us there, it IS Disney to us! :thumbsup2

We feel the same way about the GF, it's our family's favorite. I tried to switch out of BWI to GF, but it was Thanksgiving week and they were booked. That was our WORST Disney vacation ever!

DH told me to book the GF for this trip, but since it's just me and the boys I wanted a resort that had one main building, close to MK. I didn't want to pay GF or CR's CL rates for just 4 nights, so WL it is. We've never stayed there, I'm looking forward to it. I can rough it 4 nights in the Wilderness :rotfl:

Trish, I do feel for you girl! I have never gone to WDW with anyone outside my immediate family. I want to be in control of my vacation. I'm looking forward to going for the first time with just the kids. DH is not a rope drop early morning kinda guy :rotfl2: Although he does love Disney, he's just not obsessed with it like I am. What "converted" my DH was the Keys to the Kingdom tour. He "got it" after that tour. He also LOVES the on-property deluxe resorts, DxDDP, Segway tours, etc... I always schedule him for an Epcot Segway tour and Ft WL Adventure Segway tour. I love the Ft WL tour, because he has to be there by 8:30 am, the boys and I can do MK EMH-AM, which he would NEVER get up for. But to drive a Segway, he gets up for! :lmao:He's also done the Richard Petty Driving thingy. I've found you have to seek out things to make them enjoy the place as much as we do.

Should you have any extra dining credits, you can order room service (private dining). We always order room service breakfast on our final morning. No matter how much I plan, we always have credits left by our last day. What I LOVE about room service is that you can order 1 entree for 2 people, the portions are huge. I also like that they ask you how many people will be dining, so if you'd like to use only 4 credits (2 per person) you can tell them only 2 people (when you're really feeding 4 people). I have no idea why, but room service is such a treat for my boys. They always ask when we're ordering room service. All service charges and gratuities are included when using the DxDDP.

I thought sharing a meal on the DDP/DxDDP was not allowed? That's why we love room service, they don't know we're sharing. ;)

Love all your purchases!

It's getting close!! I'm finally taking the luggage out to start packing. :woohoo:

Mare

Princess and the Frog really is a great movie--DD loves it too. We are waiting to get the soundtrack from the library, we should be getting it soon. So sad that it is your last movie night but then again, it means Disney is almost here!! :woohoo:

What a fun Disney event to do right before your trip! I bet it got you even more excited (if that is possible). :goodvibes:

I would feel the same way if someone started to play with my schedule too! :upsidedow Hmm...so you are going to have extra ADRs, have time to add another meal to a couple days? We really enjoy CR and it was a must do on my DH's list. Maybe you will luck out and get in during a nonpeak time while you are at EP? It is worth a shot asking!

I really like those dresses--very pretty! I took advantage of Lands' End appreciate weekend too--I order a couple pairs of shoes to try as a second pair for the parks. Great bag! I will be curious to know what you think of it once you can try it out.

LOVE the JCrew dress!! I am definitely a big fan of-- if it fits well and you love it, buy it in every color!! I have about twenty Ralph Lauren lightweight cotton v-neck tees. They just look great, are terrific quality, and are sooo versitile. I wear them all summer long. I picked up 6 last summer in Texas for about $12 a tee!

Oh, I'm so with you on this one, and I'm just packing for one! :lmao: I really think I need to do a quick trial run of most of what I want to take tomorrow and see if I can fit it all into one suitcase. If I can't, I need to call ME right away and have them send me another yellow tag!

Love all your purchases, especially the dresses - very cute!

Good luck with your packing too!

Our biggest challenge is going to be fitting all of our luggage into the mid-size car we rented. That is why we are also booked on the ME. If we can't fit it in, DH and I are going to have to split up - one of us taking the rental, the other taking the ME!

The cost of upgrading our rental to a larger size is ridiculous expensive for the full 11 days.

What fun and practical clothing purchases! I think I am officially in love with that J Crew Saturday Twist dress. I need to check it out.

Yes - you should definitely check it out! I love it!:)

First off, sorry to hear about "having" to go to the beach. I would be disappointed to have to leave Disney property too. You will have a good time though, I'm sure. As long as it's not on the 5th so you are still available for the Cinco meet...

Second, I love your two dresses. Both very cute! I have the same problem about fitting everything in our suitcases...I hate packing!!!

Thanks for sympathizing! Now that the shock has once again worn off I am trying to get excited about getting back to the Gulf Coast. We haven't been since 2007.

And as for the Cinco meet on May 5th...I guarantee we will be there! It is my Birthday that day, so I fully expect to get to call the shots!;)

Wow I booked through RCI for our trip in May and got Orange Lake which I love but will try for Disney property next time. Thanks for the tips I can not wait for our trip all dinner reservations planned and it will be our sons 3rd trip and he is only 4!

Hey girl...you should definitely try to book into DVC next time! We were able to book at 11 months, even before other non-BCV members could book in! If I were a DVC member I would find it outrageous that RCI members could book before me, but I certainly didn't turn it down! And it certainly wasn't our only option either...I think the only place I was not able to find during our week was BLT!

Oh my, another schedule change, and so close to departure. I know what a planner you are, so that really must be putting you into overload mode. You are handling it with honors!! And I see you've done more great shopping. Love the canvas bag! And the dresses are just lovely.

Yes, you are so right...it definitely threw me for a loop for awhile! However, I think I have adjusted as best as I could.:) I will let you know how the bag turns out!;)

You shop and pack like I do!! :goodvibes Sounds like a fun trip!!

Thanks so much for posting and Welcome!:welcome: Hope you stick around!:)

I'm sooo heading for J Crew when I land in LA!! Love that dress. Might be picking up at least one for myself (if it suits my body shape).
Your WDW wardrobe looks like it's in great shape and ready to go! It's getting so close.

Yes, you definitely have to check out J.Crew. To be honest, I find I score the best deals shopping online. Plus, it is so convenient! I frequently have online retailers ship to my hotel - you should do that - it saves a ton of time. Then you can just mail back anything that doesn't work. Easy, peasy!;)

I had never considered J. Crew for clothes shopping before, but with all of the cute stuff you have posted recently, I will have to keep them in mind. :thumbsup2

Love the first dress! :goodvibes

Yes...you should try them out! And I definitely recommend the dress!:)

Love the Lands End bag. It's the perfect summer bag!

Thanks!:goodvibes Yes, I can't wait to see it and try it out in person!

I am here! sorry lol! Yes yes we did end up switching back to our beloved grand floridian...too many fabulous family memories for us there, it IS Disney to us! :thumbsup2

Hey Heather! Great to see you here again!:goodvibes

I completely understand why you are drawn to the Grand with all those special memories from your trips. Plus, it ain't bad to look at either!

We feel the same way about the GF, it's our family's favorite. I tried to switch out of BWI to GF, but it was Thanksgiving week and they were booked. That was our WORST Disney vacation ever!

Mare

Mare...you have just completely nailed so many of my thoughts in this post!!! My biggest struggles for this trip has been dealing with the last minute addition of family who have completely different priorities for the trip, as well as a reluctant spouse.

Thank you for comiserating, and for the very practical advise/suggestions and support!

I have never done a PTR before, and I am so glad that I did! When I started the PTR I would have never imagined that so many issues would pop up at the last minute requiring so many adjustments in plans and ADRs. There is no one in my "real" life who is anything like my Dis friends, and just sharing this here, having a shoulder to lean on and getting feedback from everyone has been so helpful!

Good suggestion BTW on the room service for breakfast! I will definitely keep that in mind if we have some extra credits!

And as for sharing meals, we have done this a number of times, both with and without the Dining Plan. It has never been a problem. My kids typically always share meals as they never eat a full meal themselves. DH and I will also likely split a meal or two for some lunches. I am hoping to accumulate some extra credits that way to make up for so many of the 2 credit meals we will be enjoying!;)

Princess and the Frog really is a great movie--DD loves it too. We are waiting to get the soundtrack from the library, we should be getting it soon. So sad that it is your last movie night but then again, it means Disney is almost here!! :woohoo:

Yes - that was a fun movie nite with Princess & The Frog. Just 4 nights ago but it seems like ages ago I have so much on the go right now!

And Peter Pan really was a great thing to do to get us in the Disney mood for the trip! If we weren't already!:rotfl:

I am having a mental block here - what is CR?

And what shoes did you get at Lands End???:)

Yep...I definitely think we are of the same mind on the "buy a bunch" philosophy. Great deal on those RL tees...I wish we had shopping that great up here in Canada!

Update on Katie's Paris Party

Slowly but surely, things are starting to come together for Katie's Paris Party.

On Thursday and Friday we delivered our invitations.

I had these made for me by And Everything Nice: http://and-everything-nice.biz/ I used them before to prepare invitations for my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary Party, and they are great!

Because I don't speak French, the most challenge part was ensuring that my French spelling and grammar was correct! Thank goodness for Babelfish!;)

We also got thank you cards and address labels to match the Paris theme, as well as stickers which I will be using on the loot bags and on the envelops for the invitations and thank you notes.

For favours, I have prepared special loot bags with Paris tags (which I am still finalizing). Inside will be...

...an eiffel tower bookmarker:

A J.Crew headband:

And a French Toast bread press, which I will also be using on the sandwiches I will be serving at the Party:

Each child will also be taking home a cupcake in a chinese-style take-out box as well as an eiffel tower iced cookie.

I have been busy working on a number of projects for the Party, and I still have plenty left to do.

I am still in the process of planning and finalizing food. The same woman who made my Tea Party cake and Jungle Monkey cakes last year (pictured in my previous post) will be making an Eiffel Tower Cake in Pink Velvet. I can't wait to see - and taste - it!!!:lovestruc

I will definitely keep you posted on how everything turns out!:goodvibes

Wow, that party sounds very cool! I am so impressed with your creativity!

Hi I've been reading along for a wee while now and just wanted to say I love all your plans/pictures for both trip and party.
At the risk of sounding really daft can I just ask what pink velvet tastes like(or is it just the colour of icing)?:confused3

I'm not from the U.S (what a surprise:rotfl:) and I was just wondering someone else mentioned red velvet cupcakes in their trip report and I just assumed it referred to the colour but now I'm thinking maybe it's a flavour).
Anyway just curious:)

Trish - I'm so glad that you live North of the Border....in the NORTHERN Hemisphere. Your touches and attention to detail are AMAZING....and you do know that if you were living in the Southern Hemisphere, I would sooo hate you :thumbsup2. This way, I don't feel inadequate :rotfl2:.
Really..if you were ever to move DownUnder, I would employ you to be my personal shopper.

BTW - That French Toast press is great. Where can I get one?

Ok, can I just say that I absolutely love that you did the invitations in French, what a great touch! And your loot bag purchases are great too, very creative :worship:

I can't wait to see that cake!!!

Ok, all I have to say is...CAN I COME? :rotfl:

Seriously, it looks awesome! Everyone is going to have a great time!

The party plans look awesome! I love that French bread press - how cute! :goodvibes The French theme is such a cute idea! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see pictures of the Eifel Tower Cake!!! :cool1:

Sara

All caught up here again. Love all the cute clothes for you and the kids. You guys will be the best dressed in WDW for sure! :goodvibes

Katie's party looks like so much fun. Can't wait to see the pictures of the event. :)
