DH and I talked last night and after research and input from the WONDERFUL people on the disboards(THANK YOU!) we decided to go in May! I am sooooo excited to have an official date. :cool1: I am going to wait a little while before I book because I want see what kind of specials/deals they offer for that time of year.

We are going to suprise the kids. They won't know we're going until we arrive!! I couldn't tell them now because they probably wouldn't be able to sleep for the next 6 months!!!!:rotfl: I am already too excited myself!!!! I'll be dreaming of DISNEY!!!

May is a great time to go and IMO the best off-season month to visit DLR. :thumbsup2

Some people on these boards get locked into dates and then find out new facts of which they were not aware which makes them wish they chose different dates. So in that spirit I want to make you aware of some things in case you are not already aware. I am not saying do not go in May. I am saying be aware of some things happening in May before you lock in. :)

There are rumors from reputable sources that May 2011 will offer the brand new Little Mermaid: Ariels Undersea Adventure ride at DCA and DL will offer the newly designed Star Tours ride. These will major new attractions at DLR. The Goofy's Sky School ride may also open in May.

It is too far away to know when in May these will open or even if they will be delayed into June or later. This year the World of Color show was supposed to debut in late April and did not make it until early June.

Some people care about these things and choose dates around them. If it is not important to you then I am sure youu trip in May will be magical! :wizard:

Sounds lovely! Back when our middle daughter did band/choir, they had an annual music-in-the-parks trip to DLR. It was our excuse to visit the resort in May - lovely weather :) If your dates aren't set in stone, I highly recommend including at least one Friday/Saturday/Sunday so you can take advantage of longer operating hours in May. Have a great trip! :wizard:

Thanks Hydroguy! :) Your information is most helpful. We can be flexible with our dates so I will take your advice and not lock them in just yet. I have until Mid January to decide exact dates as that is when DH has to put in for his vacation time for the year and once you turn in your requested time you can't make any changes. He does get 4 weeks so we might schedule another week at another time as a back-up plan. Thanks again!!

Oh yes, we are planning a Monday-Friday trip so we will get to have at least one day of longer hours and entertainment that is not offered earlier in the week. We could only handle one day of extended hours since we have younger children.

Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Also know that in May that you only get Fantasmic! and Fireworks typically only on Fri/Sat/Sun.

Thanks! I know we will only get them on Fri, but that is ok with us.

I am getting excited and the problem with that is I will have to contain this excitement for over 6 months:dance3:
