Carla Rae and I are having a hard time realizing that today was our last day in the parks for this trip. There is definitely a let down, but the trip has been mostly good.
First, we did some things with the DGD that we haven't done in years -- The Country Bears Jamboree for one -- because we knew she'd like it. And, we weren't disappointed. She loved everything -- meeting the characters, watching the shows (even the Hall of Presidents -- she was quiet and attentive the whole show!!) and parades, and going on the attractions. We went swimming twice and she loved the pool.
We enjoyed the Studios -- can't tell you the last time we enjoyed walking around just looking at all of the interesting details. DGD liked Playhouse Disney and the Little Mermaid. We didn't get on Toy Story Mania this trip (did get to ride during our last trip in March when it was still in preview mode).
AK was really good. We enjoyed the Safari, another attraction we hadn't done in a long time, and Nemo. We also saw the lion king for the first time. We all enjoyed that show!
We had some good character meals -- Ohana's and Chef Mickey's for breakfast-- really fun. Good fish and chips in England. Good coffee at the Poly!
We also had some dreadful meals -- Liberty Tree was the worst! Horrible service, horrible food.
Carla Rae and I didn't get to ride SPlash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain RR, and of course Space Mountain is closed for refurb and my favorite ride the TTA is closed because of Space Mountain.
I think we were most surprised by the number of large -- very large-- tour groups from Brazil, Argentina, and Italy. Usually 75-100 in each group, singing, shouting, taking up whole walkways. One kid knocked our DGD down and ran off without even seeing that she was OK. The rudeness never ceases to amaze us!
We will never come to the parks in July again. Too crowded with groups.
I'm sure Carla Rae (Zendisney) will post some comments of her own when she catches a minute. We have really had a good week.
