It's official, we are now WL lovers!!!!!!!!

You are KILLING me!! I can't freaking wait. Only 37 more days until I get there!! What's even more great about it for me is I don't know anyone who stayed there. I gave my boyfriend a choice of WL, BW or AK and he chose this one. I am sooo excited now. It sounds so different and so inviting. Eight days of Disney Magic!!!!! :cool1:

What a great feeling to have when you arrive at the resort. Selecting the resort for each trip is one of the most important choices we have to make. Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful place to stay and we own at the Villas so I understand what you felt.

I am so happy you really enjoyed your stay at the Lodge and it sounds like you had a real Disney experience......

Thanks for the report.

Glad you had a great stay! I also fewlt like I had come home to the WL on my visit in July(no.3 for me). It's a great hotel. :cool1:

Wow! I got tears in my eyes just reading your review! I usually get weepy when we are leaving the resort, but I can understand the overwhelming feeling you felt as you entered the resort. It is a SPECTACULAR place and my #1 favorite resort. I want to try to stay at EVERY RESORT on WDW property, but my DH said we should stay at a new resort...then stay WL...stay at new resort...then stay at WL. We just truly feel that that resort is "home." Thank you for sharing such a wonderfully written report!

We will be there in a few months for our Christmas trip. I can't wait, it sounds heavenly!

Hi,
Sounds like you had a great time, I'm staying there in May. Just one quick question, is there now a bus to the Magic Kingdom?

Thanks

yup - it was our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge in 2001 that turned us into Disney Vacation Club members. The lodge is absolutely beautiful! Next trip "home" is March 2006. We were just there Aug 13-21

we were also there during that week and from central ma!!!!!

Thanks for the review! Glad you had a great time. What a sweetheart of a DH to make your birthday even more special! :flower:

We had Cora check us in, too! And, we, too were double upgraded! We were upgraded to courtyard view - room 6145. We had bunk beds and firework view.

I fell in love with the Lodge the second I walked in. It felt right for my family! I can't wait to start planning my next vacation (two years from now).

:)

We arrived a couple of days before you on the 25th. We were supposed to stay 7 nights. But, the last two nights we switched to the Poly. Not because we don't love the WL. But, my with my 3rd kid not wanting to be in a crib anymore. The rooms were just to small. While the Poly was great....the WL will always be my favorite.

Your report gave me goosebumps. Sounds like a magical vacation.

What an awesome review! We will be staying at the WL in May which will be during my dd's 1st b-day. My dh is interested in being the "flag family" but I have 2 concerns about it.
1. We will only be there for 4 days. How likely is it that we will be chosen to do it in such a short amount of time?
2. Is it worth it to do it with a 1 year old or should we just skip it this time, granting we even have a shot at it within 4 days?
TIA!

P.S. Either way I cannot wait till we go! I am so excited and anxious to get there I could bust! :Pinkbounc

I agree, we stayed for our first time 8/20 - 8/30. Walking into the lobby is such on overwhelming experiance. Breathtaking doesn't even describe it. We also got upgraded from standard to courtyard. Definately my favorite hands down.

I could have written a lot of the OP's post. I had tears spring to my eyes at least a dozen times on the first day at WL. We were there in July and I've thought about it every day since.

Right, you can't describe it until you get there. No matter how many pics or video's you see of it. I keep saying the my fiance, you're gonna be so amazed, blah blah, but my words won't do anything until we actually pull up to the place! (he's never stayed in disney b4!!) Can't wait to see what he has to say about it!!!!

Okay-I'm all teary-eyed!! I was the same way as the OP-I planned our first trip (12/04) for a full year, and when the time came, everything was PERFECT!! :flower: We absolutely loved the WL, and I have already booked our next Disney vacation for 9 nights :cool1: at the Wilderness Lodge  !!!

We're not going until 12/06, and I'm so longing to be there sooner!!

I know there is a bus that goes to MK (plus the boat of course). We never used the bus though. We rented a car. We always prefer having our own car.

We did use the boat once and it was very enjoyable.

It might be worth a try. You can ask when you check in. I thought it was one of the best parts of our trip and I think it's worth it to ask. It was awesome!!! :cool1:

Thank you so much for your report.

I'm so glad that you fell in love with the lodge.

Sigh, I wish I was there!!!!
