Yay!We have our dates set Oct 29th - Nov 8th. I can not wait! I am trying to wait until 365 days to get my Disney planner out and start working on it, I may not make it.

Ok, things are all set for me. We are going October 26th - November 1st. It will be a surprise for my son's 13th birthday on Oct 27th. I secretly showed him pics of some of the resorts and he really liked All Star Sports (not my pick but it's for him! lol). Thankfully we are going in April too because a year seems so far away lol

Although we are going the first part of October, my choice would be to go the last part of October. That way you can still do food and wine, the Halloween party, and if you are there the first week of November, maybe the Christmas party too!

How early does the Christmas stuff start? If you were there the last day in October and the first 5-6 days of November, could we see both Halloween and Christmas stuff? We will be spending 8-9 days max in Florida, so it would be cool if the overlap worked out.

Christmas usually begins mid-November with the Osborne Family Lights (November 8 this year). Don't know about the decorations. Christmas is too busy in the parks for us!

Does Columbus Day make the parks any busier? I think it's the 14th next year if that sways you at all lol.

I'd personally rather go the latter part of October but I think we're going to end up bumping this trip to the last part of September/Early October. Still undecided, but more than likely happening lol.

We will do what we did this past May, spend the first night at Loew's Royal Pacific, and our arrival and second days doing the Universal parks. So, we will be at Disney Pop from October 15 until approximately the 22, and doing all 4 parks with hoppers throughout those days. Can anyone tell me what the crowds are generally like during the third week of October? And the weather, as well? haha

The parks are not too crowded in October, not compared to the summer crowds, anyway. And not nearly as empty as they are in September, with MNSSHP going on. So, moderate crowds. Does that help at all?

Weather can be all over the place. I've been there with days in the 90s, and some years (less common) need a sweatshirt. Plan on at least one afternoon rain storm. We have never had more than two days of rain at that time of year, in our yearly week long trips. (insert smiley with an umbrella here; anyone have one?) Nights are typically cool, meaning long pants and long sleeve shirt, maybe a sweatshirt. Only had to buy Mickey fleece hat and gloves once!

I have never been to DW in May. New Year's once as a teen and only October or November for the last 13 years. But based on anecdotal information (crowd calendars), I believe it would be very similar. EPCOT will be more crowded with the F&W Fest.

So excited to be going October 15th-21st!!!! It will be the first trip for all 3 of my kiddos. We are staying at POR and even though its over a year away, I seriously cannot control my excitement.

Yet again my family is busy changing their minds and my plans (my youngest DS and I are the only two really big Disney fans of the group). Last night, after a week of debate from my DM, we have decided to go back to what was my original plan.

We will be in Disney October 10-19, and staying at Port Orleans Riverside. It is now my DD, DS13, and DS5 who will be traveling with me. I'm still not 100% sure if we are taking Amtrak (train) or Southwest (plane) - I just know I am not driving If my parents and oldest DS(18) are going to go, they will be flying down seperately and probably staying with family. DS18 is worried about missing college classes and really isn't interested in Disney. My parents are older (70s and 80s) and just aren't up to the travel and walking.

I went onto the wonderful MDE website and paid our deposits. So as far as I'm concerned these plans are final!!! I wanted to stay on property because as a single mom of a wide age range it's a little easier to bring DS5 back to rest while the other 2 stay and play and if they want to get back to the resort they can w/o me going to get them.

The worst part about planning a trip 13 months in advance is flight prices aren't available, neither are park hours, EMH etc. Chomping at the bit to start "officially" planning!

I feel exactly the same way! Maybe when October 2013 gets here we will be able to start at least some basic planning; I think that is when touring plans has their crowd calculators, etc. up, 365 days in advance.

Hey everyone!!!

So excited there is an october 2014 thread started!!

As long as the TOT 10M is the same weekend as this years DH and I will be in WDW 10/3-10/10!! We are so excited! We weren't able to swing it this year with our big move to a new house. But that's ok because all that means is I have more time to plan and make this trip EPIC!

Looking forward to chatting with all of you and planning together!
