we headed to Disney October 2-6 and we are staying at the Art of Animation hotel. We are so excited!!

Looks like our October trip will officially be AKV - Kidani! Really looking forward to this resort! Coffee, giraffes, and zebras? What a nice way to start the day!

I will tentatively be going late October (10/18 - 10/25) with my boyfriend. I'm already planning and getting excited and keeping my fingers crossed that things work out this next year. We're hoping to stay at the POFQ- I've never stayed but I've already fallen in love through the pictures. :

We are hoping to go Oct 30-Nov 11th but won't be able to confirm our dates til my boss lets me know when they are going so that we aren't both gone the same dates. lol

I have changed my dates to Sept 27-Oct 7. I'm still going to stick with this thread also, but I have also posted on the Sept thread. I now have "392" days to go

59 days until this year's visit, but I know we will be returning late October 2014! Love the F&W festival. Love going in late October too; the crowds seem to be smaller late October to early November and the weather is usually very pleasant. For some reason, if it rains, it always rains when we are in Japan. We ended up going early October last year, and it seemed busier and poured rain for two of our five days. At least it made the food booth lines shorter! Some or our hoped for special events were even sold out, and I called the first day I could! But then, that happened this year too with one event.

Last year we stayed in AKL, this year is WL. We always stay at one of those two. Have considered trying others, but we just love those two sooo much.

If the bounceback deal is offered when we go this year, it will be interesting to see how much of a discount we can get. We used the 30% room discount offered in August this year. I actually booked WL one week before that deal was announced, but Disney refunded the difference!

Possible mild date change :-/ Just bumping it up a few days but no confirmation on that quite yet. Looks like some school things start mid October and we'd be cutting it pretty close with our current dates.

I've added/updated everyone I think, if I missed you, please let me know.

Did you guys see the new menu for California Grill? I think it looks amazing! Of course it will be different by the time we go, but hey, I'm sure it will still be great!

I'm also happy about the Starbucks opening at the parks(I know, I know, it's controversial). It will still be pretty hot when we go and I loooove my Cool Lime Refresher (or the very, berry hibiscus) and I look forward to enjoying it while walking around the Magic Kingdom.

Off the topic of Disney, I'm just getting excited that Fall is almost here, it's my favorite time of year! I love October, it's my b-day, it's getting crisp outside and the best...Halloween! Then after that is Thanksgiving, snow, Christmas, New Year's....

I'm just a pretty big fan of the months of October through December in general.

Are there any tour groups or get together s going on in October that I can't think of that raise crowds?

There is some huge convention (Gartner??) in early October that made it pretty much impossible to get an any standard views at the Epcot area resorts, but I've read it doesn't affect the parks much.

And I think more schools that switched to longer school years have a break around then, but I don't think that will make too much of a difference.

No, haven't heard anything. The crowd calendars for this year look pretty light. I just wasn't sure if any of the biggies fell in October - tour groups, Jersey week, Pop Warner, etc.

I have to stop reading all the fast pass plus threads on the other boards, everyone is bumming me out!

I'm picturing an entire vacation of us waiting in 2 hour lines for the Haunted Mansion because I couldn't book a fast pass 60 days out!

Luckily we are going for a long visit (9 full days) so we should still get everything in.


For now, I will live through other people's horror stories of MDE!!

Just booked yesterday for our trip, October 4 through 11 in 2014. This will be a complete surprise to DD who will be 8 next year. Our first trip to WDW as a family and we can't wait! Seems so long away, hoping it will go fast. Thanks for all the info on this thread and on the boards in general. I have already used tons of stuff to start planning our trip!
