It's Official! Obama won!!

You should stop asking legitimate, common sense questions. Do you not understand that the war will be over and all the troops home by February 1? Do you not know that in two weeks snow will turn into gum drops and rain into strawberry soda? Do you deny that Washington D.C. will be home to a magic heard of unicorns?

Obama has an exit strategy, something the Commander in Thief never thought of...The amount of damage done by this current administration will be a daunting challenge for Obama. I have faith he can rise to the occasion. Personally, I don't envy him..Oh BTW..When were you talking to the shadow people? You know, the ones who think Obama is the Messiah?

I was just thinking today that Obama has a daunting job ahead and I would think that of anyone who took office right now.

As for the criticism and name-calling of President GW Bush, I don't recall that starting to any great degree until he had been in office for a while. It's interesting that the slamming of Obama started with such a vengeance long before he took office and even had the chance to make a mistake.

Very true. People tend to forget right after 9/11 - Bush had the highest approval rating. The main stream media gave him carte blanche, the congressional Democrats also gave him a free pass for everything he wanted. Heck - even "I" cut him a break. ;)

The night before the Iraq war - I sent out a prayer that we found the WMD's as I felt very uneasy about that war....... I felt that if we were wrong and there weren't any WMDs, it would be the worst mistake in our country's history. The first time we ever engaged in a pre-emptive war.

And of course, being the good ol USA - we couldn't even do that right - and what 6-7 years later - we are STUCK there.

To use Colin Powell's analogy - we broke it. We had to buy it.....

I am thankful that Obama pledged to smartly withdraw from the premises whenever our military leaders think its a safe time to do so.

"attack of the shadow people"

Maybe I'm going senile, but I don't remember so much spew at the time GW took office, either. Of course, we didn't even have youtube during the last election, either. :surfweb:

I remember people being upset about the election being stolen (and it was) and I remember feeling the shock of four more years, but not anything close to what has happened after this past election. I think the GOP thought the Democrats were going to shrivel up in a ball and disappear and that the Republican party would be the forever party to rule our country.

Well to be honest, the Dems did shrivel up after the 9/11 aftermath for a while until they woke up to the Halliburton stealing government money years .......

I was thirteen, but I remember a good amount of spew. I watched some reruns of SNL, and even the ones before the election were pretty harsh, and reflected some certain attitudes.

Also, the 200 election wasn't stolen. It was the victim of a perfect storm of problems that happened to favor the Republicans (the butterfly ballot was designed by a Democrat, so those lost votes can't be blamed on us). If Gore had won, Republicans would have been saying the same thing. That being said, the electoral college needs to go away. That would make things a whole lot easier.

Amen to that one. I think the exact same thing.:thumbsup2

Yay !! now we can give all our tax dollars to the folks who overspent and bought houses they cant afford. we can give people another stimulus check so they can buy more meth. Whoo Hoo !!! I didnt vote for Obama Or Mccain, they both make me sick. But i love all the people who just worship obama like hes a God. Hitler gave great speaches too people. he has had ONE term in the Senate. you think you MIGHT want someone with just a Tad more experience in the white house. but i guess not. that seems like a great place to learn.....

I was proud to be an American but unable to celebrate my countries engagement in an unjust, deadly war...That changes in 11 days...;)

No one that I know celebrates a war.

:lmao: Are you old enough to remember 1977-80?

:rotfl:

The election is over. Obama won. He now has a very difficult task of cleaning up the mess that the Republican party left us in. He's already being blamed for it and isn't even president yet. Yep -- It's all Obama and Bill Clinton's fault. Never mind the last 8 years of bad governing, arrogance and deceit.

I'm proud to be an Obama supporter and am more than thrilled to see our country being led in a new direction.

There's mess from both sides. Remember Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac?

Are we in high school?

The Electoral College is a part of a checks-and-balances against the majority rule. A presidential election is not supposed to be a popularity contest. If the college was removed from the process, candidates would blow off states with small populations.
