It's Official...IT'S PALIN

As the parent of a daughter with Down syndrome, this is one of the most disturbing posts I have ever read.

While a woman has the right to abort the pregnancy just like any pregnancy, there isn't some special break in the law that allows parents to kill their "Down's babies" after they are born. You think parents are allowed to kill their children after they are born when they find out they have a disability?

I find it appalling that one of the traits you admire Palin for is that she didn't murder her child after it was born when she found out he had a disability.

I was referring to the Down's child that was aborted but, didn't die right away. He was thrown away in with the dirty linen. A nurse found him and held him until he died. Obama fought a law that would have prevented this from happening. The testimony is disturbing. http://priestsforlife.org/testimony/jillstanektestimony.htm I admire Palin for knowing her child was to be born with special needs .....and loved and wanted him anyway.

I followed that link and followed it to others on the page. I wish I hadn't. I am seriously sick to my stomach. I wonder how many pro "choice" people know the reality and brutality of abortion. I don't want to debate it. I'm just sickened by that account and by the reailty of what is happening in the name of "choice."

....and being a Community Organizer, showing up in the Senate to vote "maybe" and being able to read a teleprompter makes Obama more qualified to be President?:confused3

Exactly my thoughts! :thumbsup2

There is a you tube link I chose not to post. It has Jill Stanek telling the story, along with clips of Obama's speeches. I've heard this testimony several times and it still brings tears to my eyes.

After watching that, I am even more against Obama than I ever could have been before. I am just numb.

What prenatal testing did Palin have to determine that Trig had Down syndrome? From every report that I have read, she did not find out until Trig was born.

If you want to bring up awful cases, let's bring up that beautiful 3 year old Caylee and what some sick parents can do to an innocent child when they are forced to have a child they don't want.

You can find sick examples of parents on both sides.

I do not know the specific tests she had done. There is a routine test that almost all doctors do very early in pregnancy. Ultrasounds can also identify a downs baby.

I have heard Caylee's mother wanted to put her up for adoption. I didn't know a nineteen year old woman could be forced to have a child in the US. It is a tragic story regardless. I don't know how that has anything to do with Barack Obama's views on partial birth abortion...or Michelle Obama's (she used the issue to promote a fund raiser). I won't go into detail...there are two links on the boards that .....in his own words.....tells how he feels about protecting the rights of a child born alive after an abortion. He believes they have no rights and fought hard to make sure of it.

She said in interviews that she found out about the Downs early in the second trimester. I'm paraphrasing, but she said when she got the news her husband was out of town for two days. She didn't tell him until he came home. When he came home, they asked the usual question-- why us? Her husband responded -- well-- why NOT us? Who else could provide a better life for this child than us?

The attached news story also answers the questions about why she flew back if she was in labor and whether she was in touch with her doctor.

From then on, it was full steam ahead.

The left is so afraid of what Palin brings to the table...they had to pull out all their sticks and stones....and mud. Anything and everything to stop her message. It may just backfire. Their hypocrisy has no end. The worst of it all....is on this board...most of the bashing is coming from other women. The attacks are mostly of a personal nature...not on substance. "We've come a long way baby..... to get where we've got to today".....haven't we?

My Mom took in woman who had botch abortions back when it was "illegal".. this is the sight that I will never forget and made me seriously sick to my stomach. Women bent over in pain and bleeding almost to death...

Women will NOT stop having them just because they're illegal. Instead they'll find some jerk to butcher them. My boyfriend's oldest sister died in her bed after bleeding to death from an illegal abortion when he was a child. It still angers him.

Both sides have their brutality issues, believe me. And both sides require thought, legality and common sense. I lost my first child 3 days after his birth, I would never abort my own child. With my second they wanted me to take the amniocentesis, I turned it down. NO sickness, malformity or abnormality would have been a reason for me to abort my child. BUT that was my choice.

We all form opinions from personal experiences. I was a teenager when abortion became legal. I know of more than one girl that got pregnant on purpose. She then aborted after the father wouldn't marry her. I know one that did this four times....and all were in the second trimester. I had a friend who's parents forced her to have an abortion at five months...I will spare you the details. I have an aunt that had an abortion. She was horrified when they tossed the "fetus" into a sink and watched it gasp for breath. I also had a neighbor that couldn't conceive a child. She had a legal abortion, prompted by her parents. She was terrified when an arm fell into the toliet ....days later. She had no idea the baby was so well formed. After years of counseling, she finally had a son. Abortion is treated so casually by so many. Abortion rights activist even fight to keep a woman from being informed of the baby's developement at the time of the termination. Abortion was originally intended to be rare and performed only in the first trimester. Boy, have things changed.

"Obama fought a law that would have made that illegal".

Infanticide?

Are we really supposed to think that Illinois had somehow in its long history forgotten to make infanticide illegal until this century? Wow. Just Wow.

Perhaps because there was ALREADY a law on the books in the state of Illinois which made it illegal and said law had been present since 1975 (after Roe vs Wade.

What would Obama exactly be fighting when he didn't let a new law prohibiting something that was already illegal come out of committee to waste the legislature's time with a vote?

Is infanticide legal now in Illinois? Is that what you are saying?

With all that is coming out about Palin I cannot believe anyone thinks she was a good choice! She originally supported the "bridge to nowhere", she used to be an independent and her group twice voted in favor of Alaska leaving the union and she has a pregnant 17 year old. I think this woman needs to spend more time with her family and less time focusing on her career.

The bolded part is so true. I had a friend in high school who aborted her baby at 8 weeks. She was told the baby was just fertilized tissue. Fast forward years later and we were having a conversation about pregnancy stages. She tries to correct me when I mention the heart beating at 6 weeks. I told her about my ultrasounds with 2 different pregnancies where I clearly saw a beating heart at 6 weeks. She paled and asked "so the baby I aborted had a heartbeat?" She almost started crying.

They totally lied to her, a scared 17 year old pregnant girl. How low is that?

She could've made that decision and found out about it earlier. She wasn't a victim, she made a choice to have unprotected sex. When does she take some responsibility in what she went through, or all the bad bad people who told her that "lie" at fault? Didn't she go to the bad bad people for the procedure?

She didn't have unprotected sex. She got pregnant anyway. That's another thing that shocked her because at school in the late 80s/early 90s we were informed that wearing condoms took away the risks. It was called "safe sex" back then, remember? It was rammed down our throats everyday at school and on MTV.

And, are you serious? Do you really think that when a 17 year old is misinformed by medical professionals that the freaking school directed her to because it's perfectly fine to council teens and give them medical procedures without parental notification it's the 17 year olds fault?

Obama was asked, recently, when a child's human rights began. He dodged it....the answer was "above his pay grade"

He didn't want to waste the legislature's time:scared1: ...with something of that importance....?

Thanks to Jill Stanek....we now have a Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

Wow . . . do you get your "talking points" directly from the Obama campaign or what?!?! She has been a registered Republican since 1982 and I don't know what you mean by "her group." That has all been debunked. She was not a member of that "group." Get your facts straight and go back to your boss and tell him the lies he is trying to spread aren't working.

Are you interested in knowing what law (and it's purpose) he voted against?

In 2002, as an Illinois legislator, Obama voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, which would have protected babies that survived late-term abortions. That same year a similar federal law, the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, was signed by President Bush. Only 15 members of the U.S. House opposed it, and it passed the Senate unanimously on a voice vote.

Both the Illinois and the federal bill sought equal treatment for babies who survived premature inducement for the purpose of abortion and wanted babies who were born prematurely and given live-saving medical attention.
When the federal bill was being debated, NARAL Pro-Choice America released a statement that said, “Consistent with our position last year, NARAL does not oppose passage of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act ... floor debate served to clarify the bill’s intent and assure us that it is not targeted at Roe v. Wade or a woman’s right to choose.”

But Obama voted against this bill in the Illinois senate and killed it in committee. Twice, the Induced Infant Liability Act came up in the Judiciary Committee on which he served. At its first reading he voted “present.” At the second he voted “no.”

The bill was then referred to the senate’s Health and Human Services Committee, which Obama chaired after the Illinois Senate went Democratic in 2003. As chairman, he never called the bill up for a vote.

Jill Stanek, a registered delivery-ward nurse who was the prime mover behind the legislation after she witnessed aborted babies’ being born alive and left to die, testified twice before Obama in support of the Induced Infant Liability Act bills. She also testified before the U.S. Congress in support of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

Stanek told me her testimony “did not faze” Obama.

In the second hearing, Stanek said, “I brought pictures in and presented them to the committee of very premature babies from my neonatal resuscitation book from the American Pediatric Association, trying to show them unwanted babies were being cast aside. Babies the same age were being treated if they were wanted!”

“And those pictures didn’t faze him [Obama] at all,” she said.

At the end of the hearing, according to the official records of the Illinois State senate, Obama thanked Stanek for being “very clear and forthright,” but said his concern was that Stanek had suggested “doctors really don’t care about children who are being born with a reasonable prospect of life because they are so locked into their pro-abortion views that they would watch an infant that is viable die.” He told her, “That may be your assessment, and I don’t see any evidence of that. What we are doing here is to create one more burden on a woman and I can’t support that.”

As a senator, Obama has opposed measures to criminalize those who transport minors across state lines for the purpose of obtaining an abortion.

At a townhall meeting in Ottawa, Ill., Joanne Resendiz, a teacher and mother of five, asked him: “How are you going to vote on this, keeping in mind that 10, 15 years down the line your daughters, God forbid, could be transported across state lines?”

Obama said: “The decision generally is one that a woman should make.”
