So, my FH and I have been together 9 years. We're finally at a place that we've decided to get married. About two months ago, we bought a ring and when DFTW announced the Memories Collection, we decided we could finally afford a Disney Wedding!

But, although we had the ring, he hadn't proposed.

So, last night after dinner, I was sitting in my scrapbook room checking email and such and FH came in to chat. We started talking about wedding plans (We've decided to push our wedding from June to August 2011). I jokingly mentioned how everyone at work asks everyday: "Did you get the ring yet?" or "Has he proposed yet?" It really never bothered me, because he said he had something planned.

Then, he remembered he had something to give me. I thought it would be mail or something like that. Instead he brought me this:

A few weeks ago, he asked for some scrapbook supplies because he was making me a Christmas gift. I thought that was cute but thought nothing of it. So, when he brought in the scrapbook, I said: "Isn't this suppose to be for Christmas?" He just smiled and said just look and that's what I did:

After I said yes (of course!) he gave me the ring:

After the initial shock wore off, and when I cleared my tears of joy, I began to look at the collection of Disney, Classic Movie, Classic TV and British Sitcom Autographs he had collected through the past THREE years!

I had no idea!

I'm going to post a few of the 41 autographs here and the rest in my PJ once I start it:)

Plus. . .but I can't post it here, He also had Felicity Kendall (sp?) from Good Neighbors propose to me through a video! It was amazing. He showed me that and the man who does the voice of Goofy also proposing after I looked through the scrapbook.

I was so suprised! He had been getting autographs for over THREE years and I never knew (we live together too. . . how he did it I don't know!).

Plus, He's not that crafty and he made me a scrapbook!

It was a perfect proposal. . . .He loves collecting Autographs and I love anything Disney and I have a passion for scrapbooking (just opened my own etsy site).

I'm still beaming. . .I had to go get a protective box to put the album in. I'm taking it to work and want to keep it protected.

I'm going to post the complete scrapbook and links to the videos in my PJ which I hope to start sometime next week!!!

I am one lucky girl!!!:cool1:

How was he able to collect all of those? Does he work in the entertainment industry?

He didn't meet any of these people. He did it over the mail and through emailing their agents/managers. He told me he did it partial through the actors own sites, IMDb, Google and Fanmail.biz - message boards he posts on.

Plus, he's just an avid autograph collector. His own collection numbers over 500 autographs (mainly Star Wars, Back to the Future, and the WWE/TNA).

He worked on it for over 3 years. . .and I was oblivious.

Hi a UK (VR) bride here!!
You're right I do recognise David Croft. He wrote 'Are you being Served', 'Dad's Army' and 'Hi-de-Hi' amongst others, and is a bit of a British institution!!
I also know Richard Briers, of course, I think 'Good Neighbours' is a show we must have called 'The Good Life'. Completely OT, but you may be interseted, Penelope Keith (who plays Margot in that show) is vice-chancellor of my daughter's university and last summer presented my daughter with her degree. She took the time to talk to all the students and was so lovely!!!
Anyway, what a unique and fantastic proposal. Your DF is clearly a thoughtful and special person!! Goodness only knows how he kept his secret all that time!!
Congratulations and welcome to you both
Happy planning!!
