Funny - a year ago the conventional wisdom was that this election would be all about Iraq. And the Iraq issue essentially decided the Dem nominee.

The Biden pick signals that issue is irrelevant.

And speaking of conventional wisdom, I also remember it was the GOP that was suppose to be fractured, via the candidacy of Huckabee. He went no where, and the GOP base has rallied to McCain. And here we are on the eve of the Dem convention and Obama still hasn't brought the Clinton die hard to his side.

Ok - the disagreement is over your statement that MSNBC is the most fair and balanced media outlets -- I still fail to see how elections play a part in this. Moreover -- see my previous links -- both democrats and republicans have acknowledged the bias of MSNBC.

I've read much differently from a wide variety of Americans, including a few of your buddies from the Conservative thread. To add, it kinda helps when you approach a speech with an open mind and without all of the pent up hatred, but I digress...

Does anyone else remember that it was Joe Biden who headed the Committe questioning Clarence Thomas. It was Joe Biden who would NOT LET ANITA HILL testify, until the press realeased her story. And by then it turned into a 3 ring circus.

Many Democrats believe that it was do to Bidens mistake that caused Clarence Thomas to become a Supreme Court Judge.

I'm personally not sick of hearing about comparisons to Bush and his stances and inexperience and all of that because I think that those things matter. Tiresome to me are all references to things that happened long ago (or even recently) in people's private lives because I don't know personally what that was about and I don't think I need to know. And I doubt that anyone here is an expert either.

of course they are going to be voting nearly the same on things. They are both Republicans. What are other senator's voting records with Pres Bush? It seriously is making an issue out of a non-issue.

McCain is more of a moderate than probably any other republican in the senate. Where do you get your information? Have you ever even seen the debates between Bush and McCain from 2000? Just because they agree on the war, which is pretty much won at this point, does not mean they agree on everything.

I thought you no longer cared about the Supreme Court Being as you're ok with McCain making the next appointments even though he has promised to appoint more Alito types and has made it clear what he thinks about Roe v. Wade.

I said in regards to Presidential candidates & Supreme Court nominees....was that I dont regard this as a issue at all for Presidential candidates.

Presidents just appoint nominees, Senate CONFIRMS them.

The whole Supreme court issue is a Senate issue, NOT a Presidential issue.
