The who-

:upsidedow Me(38)- I'm a super hyper, non stop talking, stay at home mom.

:cool2: DH(40)- Love of my life. More laid back and quiet with a great sense of humor.

Our kids- They're best buds and get a long so well, I feel so blessed.

:teeth: DD(13)- Best teenager ever. Funny, friendly, silly and said she could never be embarrassed by her crazy mom. She does have a shy side though but once she feels comfortable around you it's all over.

:3dglasses DS(9)- Everyone say he looks just like DH, but personality wise he's all me. He's super hyper and never stops talking, he seriously makes us laugh multiple times a day.

The when & where-

We are booked on the January 24th 4 night Wonder cruise. :woohoo:

We have book and cancelled 2 previous Disney cruises. We could never get ourselves to pay that much $$ for a cruise when we live so close to the mouse house itself. But then "Kids Sail Free" came along. I saw it advertised on the Dis and priced one out at DCL myself. When I told DH the price quote, he said it's now or never, book it!

Details-

We're booked in a CAT 10 inside stateroom. We figured we won't be in a room much but I am slightly nervous about the no windows, sleeping in a closet aspect. But we're going on the cruise and that's all that matters!

We did get trip insurance through squaremouth.com (what a strange name for an insurance site). We got a policy through Travel Insured International & only paid 60.00 versus the couple of hundred or so Disney wanted. Thanks Dis for that tip!

We don't need any transfers, flight or hotel since we live right in Lake County Florida so we'll drive ourselves to the port.

Grand total, not including port parking- 1297.68.

Thoughts-

It wasn't long ago we took a day trip over to Cocoa Beach, afterwards we decided to explore the Port and saw a Disney cruise was about to leave. We stood there listening to the sail away party from the ship, waving like crazy at the people onboard. There was a family next to us and they said oh, do you have relatives or friends on board? We said no. They looked confused. :) I can't believe that now we get to be the people on the ship, I'm so excited and I can't wait!

More later...............

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise. I can't wait to read about your family's adventures. Great start to your report!

Thanks for reading OurOhana!

This weekend DH called and requested that we dine alone, it's not that we're anti-social. In fact we're crazy outgoing in everyday life, but this trip is about us spending time together as a family and we didn't want to have to make "small talk" with strangers at meals.

I saw a commercial on TV for these travel space bags(LOL) and I was thinking about getting them so maybe we could only take 1 suitcase for clothes and then one for carry on type bag for sand toys for Castaway Cay.

First, greetings fellow Fishhead and congrats on planning your first cruise! pixiedust: If you are like us, it is easy to get hooked on cruising when you live a hop, skip, and jump from the port. :thumbsup2

I have used those spacebags for packing my DD's camp things and they work great; not sure how wrinkly clothes get though. :confused3

The smartest thing we did on our last cruise was limit each person to one rolling suitcase and a tote/daybag. The least fun part of our previous cruises was packing on the last night so that our luggage could be collected from the hallway. :sad2: So nice not to have to worry about that on the last night -- too many other FUN things to do. :cool1:

Have a great cruise!! :yay:

Also, our last cruise was our first in an inside cabin -- we loved it! DH says he would like to cruise with a verandah, but failing that would not spend the extra $$ for a porthole on a 3 or 4-night cruise. We loved our cabin so much that we booked the same one for our upcoming 3-night, free-kid, Pres. Day cruise. :goodvibes
