It's not just "PORK" anymore...Now it's your HEALTH CARE!

Howdy Al! We are doing fine, how bout you? We saw the most amazing thing today, the grass in our front yard!!!! We have had like 5 days in a row above freezing, but it is supposed to tank again soon LOL.

What you been up too?

I think they should do away with all political parties and make everyone run on thier own merrits. It's a lot harder to loby one person at a time than a whole group.

Abuse like you cited here is an epidemic in pre hospital care. I have literally had people tell me that they wanted to go by ambulance because they didn't want to spend the $15 for a cab, the bill for the ambulance was $500 but that was covered by medicaid.

A friend of ours retired from Manatee County EMS. Whenever he got a call to the migrant camps for something minor - he said he would pull out some HUGE needle - IIRC it had something to do with a cardiac injection - and all of a sudden the person needing care got better!!! Imagine that!!:rolleyes1

In '04 I was transported by ambulance due to CHF and that was probably one of the worst rides of my life. I swear you felt every tiny bump in the road and it felt like a HUGE slam every time. I remember commenting to the EMT that they needed to put shocks on that ambulance!!

That's because they use trucks now instead of Cadillacs for ambulances.

I have NEVER heard anyone compliment us on the ride of the trucks, its a huge issue and we spend a lot of time and money trying to make them ride as smooth as possible. With the lousy roads we go through a set of shocks yearly. Its funny that you mention it, some things are just universal.

None of these guys is doing us any favors! They're all incompetent yahoos.

I am not defending any of the RINO'S as they lack spines and you know what but this above statement is so far off base and false it reminded me of the Messiah's speech the other night.:thumbsup2

How is it wrong? You like the politicians? :lmao:

Bush was an idiot. Obama is a communist. Take your pick.

In the last 40 years since 1968, there have been 2 democratic presidents and 5 Republican presidents. 12 years of democrats and 28 years of republicans - yet it's all the democrats fault. I'm a republican but this doesn't ring true even to me. It's the politicians who are to blame, plain and simple. That's the one common thread

Ntsammy5,

I am not bashing you and I did not say I liked politicians. I just was letting you know that your statement was false and that it came straight from the democratic talking points of yesterday.

Bush did not authorize "trillions" in bailouts.

Bush did not start 2 wars, Congress did.

Both wars were necessary and still are (except we need to deal with Iran which will happen in time..hopefully not too late with a pacifist in office). We need to get rid of the "Rules of Engagement" so that we can really fight these wars and finish them.

Economy spiraled out of control becasue of the Dems and their Mortgage and environmental mentality. It became even worse when the Dems took control 2years ago. Of course, the spinless RINO's will help them along.

Half of the deficit was from the TARP bailout which was caused by the Dems and their "loan to anyone and everyone" mentality.

Please explain why why Bush is an Idiot. And don't use any of the speaking gaffes as proof as the Messiah has had just as many, if not more. Now, he may have been somewhat spineless in not defending himself from the spews and lies that were heaved on him the past 8 years but far from an idiot.

Now that being said. I do agree that O'bama:worship: is a socialist and just about every politician is incompetent and I also think we need to vote out EVERY SINGLE POLITICAN out of office and start fresh. Problem is, that will never happen.:thumbsup2

Let's agree to disagree on some of this stuff. The economy and bailouts wre BOTH parties fault, no question. It happened on Bush's watch so guess who gets the blame, deserved or not. The guy was led around by Dick anyhow. :lmao:

I voted for Bush twice and was sorely disappointed in his performance. He was a fiscal conservative who presided over record deficits.

I won't go into the war in Iraq, it's very, very personal for me - I lost too many friends there and I'm bitter about it. I recently lost some friends in A-stan too, but that's a necessary incursion that has been neglected for too long.

As for Bush being an idiot, that was too harsh. Personally I like him. A good friend of mine was at the White House several times (serevd with W in the Air Force) and I have some stuff that Bush signed and sent to me. Like I saaid, a nice guy, just too bull headed sometimes.

Steve,

Next time we're anywhere near the fort at the same time I owe you a beer or 6!

:drinking1

Exactly why it will never change. The concept of political parties is so wasteful as to defy description. However, they have entrenched this concept into every level of lawmaking. We're stuck with a system that we (over many, many generations) allowed, and even supported.

This is what I love about the camping boards. We may not always agree on everything, or we may just agree to disagree, but at the end of day (or post, in this case) we can all be friends and still enjoy each other's company. Isn't beer great!!! :lmao:

Steve - I KNOW I'm stepping in doo-doo here, but the economy really started to vortex back in the 80's with the dearly beloved Reagan. In his State of the Union address to Congress in January 1983, he seemed to be abandoning the conservative economic philosophy that had brought him to power. He called for bipartisan, emergency action to save Social Security from bankruptcy, even if that meant increased taxes. He cited Franklin Roosevelt’s believe that “the great public is interested more in government than in politics,” to the dismay of libertarians who remembers his old mantra, government isn’t the solution, government is the problem.

Deregulation became a watchword of the Reagan administration, but critics charged that reduced regulation created hazards to public health and safety (i.e. airline deregulation). During his first term, Reagan sought to shift dozens of federal programs to the state and local levels under his system of “new federalism.” Officials in these jurisdictions complained that promised federal aid to implement the programs was inadequate.

Reagan might have been able to do more if his approach to deregulation had been less overtly pro-business. His deregulation ideal opened the door for corporate greed due to the fact that corporations such as the telephone industry, airline industry & banking industry had their check's and balance systems lifted and were no longer accountable to the government for their actions.

I personally watched the telephone industry go down the crapper after deregulation. It went from an industry that HAD to put the customer's needs first to an industy that put the investors and corporate leaders pockets first. It was extremely frustrating being told over and over again that every call was a sales opportunity. If a customer called stating they could not pay their bill....well let's fix 'em up with voice mail or caller ID so they'll never have to talk to another bill collector! I was actually written up for advising a customer who was not able to pay their bill in full, to strip their service down to basic, block long distance calling & setting them up on a payment plan. The customer was thrilled with me - my manager wrote me up on a disciplinary action for failing to sell to the customer's need. What bull-sheet!!!

No one will convince me otherwise that what we are experiencing now began with Reagan and has been escalated by the government since then.

Don't even get me started on the stupidity of the "war with out end". Amen.

Deb,

That sounds like good ole capitalism at work to me. But again, like Al and I agreed...We will just have to agree to disagree.:thumbsup2

The problem started longer ago the Ronnie. I remember one night when George and Martha were over to the house, and George went on and on about his idea of isolationism. We laughed and laughed, but in retrospect, he probably was right. If we had just kept to ourselves and said screw the rest of the world 200 years ago, we probably wouldn't have the problems we do today.

Steve....no need to schmooze me....we've already shared a brewski or two (or three or four) :rotfl2: And Al??? Well, he'll drink with anybody - or alone!!

George W (as in Washington) did have something with the isolationism. He also was instrumental in setting up the original system of voting. Only those people that owned property could vote. Hmmmmmmmm......:scratchin
