It's not even Thanksgiving....

It's not even Thanksgiving and people ALREADY have there Christmas lights ON.

Lets get through one holiday at a time!


This does not apply to the people that leave their Christmas lights on all year.

Yep, saw a few houses with lights on last night. And a few houses with their trees up already, too.

Thanksgiving is very late this year so I understand the jumpstart...last year it was 11/22! And all the stores had their stuff up after Halloween!

i just couldn't bear to wait any longer...our tree went up on 11/17...

Some of the local radio stations have been playing Christmas songs non stop. Too early!

Too EARLY! I've seen a couple of trees in homes and decorations outside! Wreathes and light up snowman! Hey, can't we wait till after Thanksgiving???

In related news, 2 homes right across the street from each other have what I like to call "dueling Jesi". They each have a nativity scene which consists of identical set ups of Mary, Joseph & the baby Jesus. Both set them up the day after Thanksgiving. DH and I take bets on when they will finally come down and who will take it down first! DH says they go out so early, they must get cold and threatens to put little coats on the figures each year!

I saw someone with a tree up yesterday, lights on and all.


We usually put our tree up around the first week of December . But since we are settling on our house on Dec 18/21... well it may be a Christmas Eve tree that evening... later than I would like, but thats ok with me.

I put some of the lights up this past weekend because the weather was nice. Not a good thing for me to do cause then I just HAD to turn them on. I figured since the neighbor across the street had her tree up and on I could turn on the outside lights!!!

I agree! I dont mind people putting them up early when they have a chance or in nice weather, etc... but to turn them on weeks ago(like I saw some) was just crazy. I dont think they should be turned on until Thurs night...Wed at the very earliest, because IMO, the night before Thanksgiving is part of the holiday season too.
Ours will go up and on this weekend, weather permitting.
