Hi Js & Ks!! I've been so busy today - sorry I've missed so many posts. I just don't have time to get caught up!! Finally getting packed for the trip tomorrow......... I thought FL was bad last week -- Ft Hood will be in the high 90s/low 100s while I'm there!!

Had a Mom/Daughter day with Tori -- shopping. Lord, that girl can spend (my) money!!!!

Back to packing......... leaving tomorrow morning.

Thanks! I just found out my travel schedule for the next several weeks! I will return home from this assignment on 9/15; fly out to another Base on 9/16, come home on 9/22 and head back out again 9/23, arriving home on 9/29!!! Then, hopefully, I will have a week to rest up before F&WF!!!

WOW - you will be a travelling fool for a while. Try to get some relaxtion and fun in there.

Bob and I are going to see our older daughter, Kathrin today! Her guy had a business trip to Richmond and she had some time off so she tagged along. It is a lot closer to Richmond (50 minutes) than to Boston (many hours) so we are taking advantage of having her close. We haven't seen her in a year!

How great you'll get to see her. Hope you had a wonderful visit.

Well my flights are set, I leave Sunday and come back Friday.

I am going to a conference where I get to speak, and demo... I know sounds like loads of fun....


But I will be flying into MCO!!!!

I am hoping that get to go to DTD a couple of evenings, but you guys know how this goes, I work so late then have happy hour with colleges and then I go to bed to start the next day!

So keeping fingers crossed that I get some Mickey time in...

Maybe it will be at least a small Disney fix since you won't be joining us this year?

** Some friends of ours are down at Disney right now, they were chosen today to go "behind" the wall........... lol - they got to go do "Enchanted Tales with Belle" - they sent me video of it, all but the DH got picked to be IN the show, it's awesome!!! It is SOOOOOOOOOOOO cool - I love it and cannot wait to see it in person!

AND - they are staying at Kidani, their first time, and LOVE IT!!!!!

We also prefer a king room. However I have been told there are only a very few kings in the entire resort unless you are booking a one bedroom villa. We usually stay club level at AKL and always put a request for a king room. We have received that request once in our stays.

How nice of to help your friend plan her extended family vacation. Do they have enough people to be a Magical Gathering? Magical Gatherings are assigned a CM to help to organzine the group plans and to be a liason. Link is here: http://allears.net/pl/magath.htm#a1

I am certain that all room types are available on the same floor, however if they all are close together, if all would have a savannah view and be available during your friends stay is the question.

Another off topic post... On August 22, David and I went to the Braves game here in DC with Chipper, it was a sad day here in our house... We will miss him, but understand his need to retire.

I took lots of photos, and try and refrain from boring you all to death with them...

They did a very nice presentation to Chipper, where they gave him the 3rd base from the previous game, a signed photo from some players and Chipper was the first person to hit a home run in National Park after it opened, and his bat has been in the stadium since, and they gave it back to him.

Colors were presented, and national anthem sang...

Brandi, Thanks for sharing President Lincoln's Cottage pictures with us. What a beautiful home. Is the house furnished with their personel furniture? The grounds and building are lovely.

Looks like our trip is changing!

Two weeks from today we are leaving for Orlando. We were going to rent a car, spend our arrival night at Shades of Green then drive south to visit friends for a few days. However, we got a call from our friends today and they have to cancel as they will be out of state due to a family issue. We will certainly miss seeing them and our planed time together, but completely understand.

I had to get busy and see what our alternatives were. We had several possibilities including flying out a few days later and just head to the Beach Club to start our Disney vacation (if we could get a flight). I was wondering if we would find a hotel reasonably priced on short notice? We kicked around several ideas:

But in the end we decided to lengthen our WDW vacation. We have cancelled the rental car and where able to book Shades of Green for 5 nights instead of just one.

So we will be at WDW for 16 nights!
