....personally, only 'anyone who's anyone' shall have a boo-boo tag....

Time for me to get a new map! Glad I'm heading to WDW this weekend! :goodvibes

(and yes, I'm packing plenty of rain gear as I have a feeling Isaac - or remnants of him - will be joining me!!)

In case I'm not back on in time, have a fantastic trip!!!! And hopefully Isaac will miss you. :)

Afternoon J's & K's

Hope you're all well!!! Again, I miss a couple days and WOW - boo boo's all over the place!! I'm guessing this is KIM's fault??!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

Brandi - the pic of you and david at the ballpark was too cute!! Speaking of Chipper, his grandma and mine were very good friends!! I never met Chipper, but, have always heard he is a lovely person. Is he retiring? I don't keep up with the baseball - I'm a football girl!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!! ;)

Hope you all have a great weekend and I'll send pixie dust so that whatever caused those "boo boo's" gets fixed!!! haha

Thanks for all the good wishes. They are much appreciated.

Corinna, fingers are crossed. I hope the waiting game doesn't take too long.

So do I.

Lots of Js & Ks are crossing fingers for you! Faith, Hope and Pixie Dust! pixiedust:

Thanks.

I love the look of that dinner.

Corinna, my fingers are crossed that everything goes smoothly and your wait is short. :goodvibes

Thanks.

So far so good! Prayers and crossed fingers that it all goes through!

Thanks.

Corinna - Hoping that those 4 months fly by for you!

The fact that I have a nice vacation with Mickey within this period will help.

Once they get, and start processing, the application...are you good to leave and come back?

Or do you have to wait for them to issue your new passport/citizenship?

Yes, I can go and come back as I please. As I went through the Nationality Checking Service, I am still in possession of my passport. I had to make sure that I was in the country 3 years to the day when they received my application and also on the day they received it. Now I have freedom of movement.

...and how did THAT happen to YOUR scrollie? :rolleyes1

Those tags seem to be infectious, but I rather like them.

Corinna

Haha... I guess i know what she meant by "changes" huh?..

Just a gentle reminder that we are not supposed to discuss smoking on any thread other than the official one -- which is a sticky.

There are only 2 "designated smoking locations" on the Jambo map. One is in the front near the walkway to the buses, and the other is beyond the Spa/Fitness Center, near the hot tub.

Both are isolated enough so that it should not pose any problems. However, if you are truly concerned about the smell and want to take every precaution, then you should request to be in Zebra, Kudu or Ostrich trails and avoid Giraffe Trail. The 2 Designated areas are closest to Giraffe Trail -- although I have stayed in Giraffe Trail many times and never had a problem. :thumbsup2

I think Kim being snarky is what got us all the boo boo tags!

....the boo boo tags are running amuk, amuk, amuk....

My goodness, you ladies are all sparkly now!

No apologies needed. Your question was fine -- we just have to be careful that it doesn't start a discussion about smoking -- that would be breaking the rules! ;)
Not trying to be a smartie pants because this is a serious concern for me. My intention was never to discuss the actual act of smoking just room locations in relation to the smoking area.
There are three smoking areas at Jambo.

One is just outside the gift shop (between the gift shop and the bus stop...which is unfortunate planning since you basically have to walk through it to get to the lobby doors). You can get around it by looking for a door, off Giraffe trail, that's to your right (if you're heading from the bus stop back to Jambo). It's not ideal, but it works.

One is outside of Boma's/Jikos...basically right off the walkway to the pool. You can avoid this by using an alternate entrance to the pool (like the elevator down from Zebra trail, to just outside Simba's clubhouse). This one is pretty much under cover and there are NO room balconies withing 30 or 40 feet of it (because of the roof over Boma/Jikos). In addition, it's a good 20 to 30 feet BELOW the closest balconies, too. Because of it's placement, it's not really a factor in room selection.

The last is behind the pool bar. It's the easiest to avoid direct contact with (just don't walk back there). It's in site of some rooms..but it's easily 20 feet from the actual building.

And from the map it is so hard to tell it could be right outside your door for all I know. It was out of the way when we were at VWL but we still had to walk by it which made my husband mad.

Believe me, I understand and I totally support your feelings. ::yes:: The reminder wasn't directed at you (or anyone in particular actually). ;) I was just trying to be pro-active so that we wouldn't have someone who maybe was finding this thread for the first time start posting their feelings on the subject..............

Life around here is better when the Mods are happy! :thumbsup2

Here now for our first time! Such a beautiful place! We checked in around 2 yesterday and all I asked for was to NOT have a first floor room...critters and all. We were assigned a room on the zebra trail...which is awesome because I assumed, since we got such a dirt cheap rate and had a standard booked, that we would be overlooking the bus or parking lot (which we were fine with). We are about as far as you can get from the lobby and it's not a long walk, IMO. About 2 minutes.

This place is gorgeous. Went out to Arusha Rock last night and the kids toasted marshmallows. We had 6 giraffe and 2 zebras off the observation deck yesterday evening...just amazing.

We slept great last night - up and moving now b/c we are eating Boma in a bit.

There are 2 things, though, that strike me as odd.

1) The bathroom is so small that the shower curtain gets stuck on the door when you go to shut it.

2) we feel more crowded in this room than we do in the value rooms. Not sure why that is, at all. But we just do.

I am still so happy we are here....and will be sad to check out on Sunday to head to another resort!

Oh, and there is a bounceback in the room for next summer...totally contemplating it!!

Happy Friday Js & Ks! I will be heading to AKL in a couple days for some fresh Zebra Domes! :thumbsup2

What was your first clue???!!!! :rotfl:
