It's NEVER Too Late, for Number 8 - the most UNOFFICIAL, 'official' AKL thread yet!

We bring her a stroller (though this will be her last trip where we do), so she gets pushed around. She'll probably be the least tired amongst all of us!

But...I agree...I worry about her stamina level. It's a lot to do in a day.

I say go for it. I have DD9, DS7 & DS4 If the younger one gets tired at least she could nap in the stroller.

You need to hang out on Kimmar's Tag Fairy thread. The TF is handing out tags right and left!

Thanks Corinna! I think I could try and organize a meet for the first day of the cruise.

Thanks for the pictures Laura!

I did go over there, but I might have to hang out more:rotfl:

Love all the pictures from the game. Was there anyone there, it looks so empty.

Here is my dinner....

Looks great 'cept those onions would kill me ;)
We do some of that.

But there are basically 3 days (Illuminations, Fantasmic, and MK Fireworks) nights we do "late".

Day 4 (with our 2 ADR's at Epcot) is our "Illuminations" day.

Otherwise, we're usually back to the room by 6..and spend an hour or two by the pool.

My kids cannt make it that late. This year our trip is in mid Nov so there is only fireworks one day at MK that we can go to and they are supposed to start at 8pm. I think they can make it. Illuminations is still scheduled for 9 which is too late for them. And we are going to see Osborn lights over F! when we are at DHS. Im excited they have never seen fireworks. Last year we went back to MK after dinner to try to see the fireworks and they couldnt make it. They were a mess :rotfl: I should add we went in Sept last year and the fire works were still at 9:30/10:00 at the time we were there.

Morning Everybody! :goodvibes

Question...
We went with a standard view room this time. I want to make sure we are as far away from the outdoor smoking section as possible (or we won't be able to use our balcony).
What should I request at check in? :confused3

...if you are in a standard room and you don't want to be bothered by smoke, I suggest Ostrich Trail - it's opposite Giraffe Trail, where folks tend to smoke....

Corinna - Hoping that those 4 months fly by for you!

Brandi & Laura - I say we all plan a Jambo meet in Atlanta to sample those flipburgers!! :)

I think that would be a great Jambo Meet.... Maybe we could catch a Braves Game

Villas or hotel room?

Hotel room standard means parking lot view. Those are all on Ostrich and Giraffe trail.

At Jambo (the hotel portion) request Ostrich Trail. The smoking areas are near the pool and just outside Zawadi marketplace..so Ostrich Trail would take you far afield of those two spots.

For Villas, there's a bit more to consider:

Standard view villa, at Jambo, means "pool" view. The smoking area SHOULD be far enough away (you'd be on the 5th floor and it's a bit further than the furthest "jut" of the spur it's near) that you don't notice it, no matter where you are. To be safe, request close to the lobby. You might end up looking over the roof at Boma's..but that might be the trade off you have to make.

Standard view villas at Kidani Village mean pool or parking lot view. The smoking areas are near the health club/gym (go figure) and just "below" the bus stops. I'd request "near the pool". The smoking areas are both pretty far away from the rooms, anyway, but that will keep you FAR away, with buildings between you and the areas.

And, speaking of "tags"... I have had mine for years and years and years. The hen party one does not even apply anymore! The friend who was getting married at WDW is expecting twins now!

I would LOVE new tags. Just not certain what tags would fit so I have been extra careful in what I spout here on the DIS. :rotfl:

Be careful what you ask for... You could end up Elin Boo Boo like me and Kim..

This will be our 2nd trip doing late nights (and our first doing Fantasmic). Prior to that, my kids were roughly the same age as your two are, now (2 and 4, by your siggie?). We would usually do ONE fireworks night..and there were plenty of those where one or more of the kids slept through them, in a stroller.

This was right after the rain delay, they were just moving the tarp away, it was pretty crowded I think there was 42,000 people there..

We are in a 1 br villa at Jambo. I had not even considered the smoking area. And I was not aware we would be over looking the pool. I hadnt planned on making any requests. I might have to think about this. I cannt sit outside if there is smoking.

They will be 3 and 5 this trip. They have Sept and Oct birthdays so last year that were JUST 2 and still 3 when we went. They both napped every day, not gonna happen this time. And Im guessing we will have a little more time in the parks because of this.

Whoa whoa whoa hold the phone. SMOKING?! There is something I had not considered! :scared1: Could someone please tell me where in Jambo we should not be if we do not want to smell cigarette smoke? I am so allergic that if I do not move to the other side of the street if someone lights up in front of me within a block I will have a migraine! I can't smell that everyday, and I want to be able to sit outside/not have it waft into my room! When I pass by the smoking areas in WDW I hold my breath! :faint:

....I had planned on visiting Stone Mountain Park in October - there's a 'craft'(?) fair there every year...when I looked into it, the airfares weren't cheap, so I think I'm just gonna skip that outing....:confused3
Please go to Stone Mountain. I'll even drive over there to meet you. :goodvibes

Now you'll visit when I'm at AKL! :lmao:

I think that would be a great Jambo Meet.... Maybe we could catch a Braves Game
I'm in!

Back to planning my AKL visit ... :surfweb:

Just a gentle reminder that we are not supposed to discuss smoking on any thread other than the official one -- which is a sticky.

There are only 2 "designated smoking locations" on the Jambo map. One is in the front near the walkway to the buses, and the other is beyond the Spa/Fitness Center, near the hot tub.

Both are isolated enough so that it should not pose any problems. However, if you are truly concerned about the smell and want to take every precaution, then you should request to be in Zebra, Kudu or Ostrich trails and avoid Giraffe Trail. The 2 Designated areas are closest to Giraffe Trail -- although I have stayed in Giraffe Trail many times and never had a problem. :thumbsup2
