I agree - but my family loves looking thru the pics. I do yearly photo books from shutterfly (when on sale). We like these too but nothing is better than a something homemade & heartfelt ..... Now I should do some - three trips worth waiting for me .... Plus I'm making a dance one for DD that I want to start now & not wait till she is a senior in HS!

I've only been on this thread for awhile but I have to say you are the nicest group of people on the dis - so supportive & funny too!

Smith Island requires a ferry to get out to it, and they have a bakery there that is run by one family and it bakes the "Smith Island Cake" which is the State cake of Maryland! Go figure.... I had it a couple of weeks ago and my friend was telling me about the island, and now I want to go visit...

I just looked it up, looks like I need to add it to the list. They have some inns on the island so it would be a nice weekend getaway.

We got back home today. Had a weekend trip to San Diego to check on our friends whose husband has been so ill. He is doing amazing right now. Thank Heavens! The last time we were there was a emergency trip down at his request because he felt his time was very short. He has really turned a major corner and is looking good, putting on weight and his spirits are great. We also saw Memphis while we were in SD which we both enjoyed. Along with a long walk on the beach and dinner at our favorite restaurant in Del Mar it was a great long weekend.

For 2013, We are doing two week in the Caribbean in Feb, and then 3 week in Spain and Portugal in Nov.

I am working on starting the scrapbook of my trip in 2010! i hope I get it done before I go in 13.

I haven't ever done a pre-trip report or a trip report. I love reading everyone elses. I love to scrap, just wish I had more time and was better at get one done in a timely manner.

Early morning thunderstorms here!

Be careful! My DH has been hit by lighning twice....I make sure we get into a building when it storms anywhere we are. I really do care about my sweetheart......but I also feel he is a walking lighing rod.

Scrapbooking is so time consuming I did one for our trip in 2009, but now I have 3 trips I need to scrapbook for and no time to do any. But I do love buying all the cute supplies for them. I have a huge bin filled with all stuff

I know your pain regarding time and being behind on my books. My DH get after me about all the "crap you have in bins for projects." Like he doesn't have a three car garage filled with his stuff.

Congratulations on your trip short timer.

This really is a thread with wonderful, caring and supportive thead. We have many talented people in so many ways. Glad you joined us and please hang around even after your trip. Be sure to let us know how your vacation went and all the details. Several of us are between trips and we post and help others. My last trip was almost two years ago.

I have given up on the "hands on" picture books. A couple years ago I started going with the Kodakgallery. I had to rush and finish my 2010 book before they closed. Now I'm using photobucket since I already upload all my pictures there for my TRs.

That's a long ways away (I'm assuming that base is in Hawaii). I can understand the mixes feelings in your family. There is a guy on the DVC Trip Reports board doing a 20 day TR which includes Aulani and DL. He's still on the first day, hasn't got to Aulani yet. It's a fun read, both Pam and I are following along.

I am sorry that they are moving that far away, but I can understand that they are excited. I unfortunately did not make it to Aulani while we were in Hawaii and only saw it in the distance.
