Thanks so much everyone, it made me tear up again to read all your heartfelt responses. The thing I'm going to miss most was her "child-like" excitement for Disney. Bringing her to the parks was almost like bringing a little kid. She missed out earlier in life due to a lot of issues, so we had a lot of fun over the past couple years bringing her to DL. I will miss those trips.

Alison your thoughts here were so touching and heartfelt they made me cry. Arline was so blessed to have your and Fran in her life. You both enriched her life, her experiences and gave her true friendship. There is no greater gift you could have given her. I am so glad she was able to see her daughter and that they had closure. She is at peace now and with those who love her.
Please be sure to take care of yourself, rest, recharge both physically and emotionally.

Good morning all! I'm trying to resist the urge to throw everything in the suitcases now :rotfl: getting so excited for our trip! I think after getting our room the first thing I'm going to have to do is go down to the Mara and get a supply of Domes for the room:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Don't forget to take a picture of them for this thread. I know you are going to have a super great trip Sue. Looking forward to hearing all about it. :goodvibes

:cloud9: One tip, if you want the Domes to taste like the ones in Boma, let them get to room temperature before eating. I have found that, served chilled, the Domes have a totally different consistency - and I prefer that melt-in-your-mouth taste of non-chilled Domes! :thumbsup2

Ahh so that is why they didn't taste quite right on my last visit. One went straight from our room frig. to my mouth. :rolleyes1 Thanks for the tip Laura.

We got back home today. Had a weekend trip to San Diego to check on our friends whose husband has been so ill. He is doing amazing right now. Thank Heavens! The last time we were there was a emergency trip down at his request because he felt his time was very short. He has really turned a major corner and is looking good, putting on weight and his spirits are great. We also saw Memphis while we were in SD which we both enjoyed. Along with a long walk on the beach and dinner at our favorite restaurant in Del Mar it was a great long weekend.

Brandi,

This will be our first WDW vacation staying at a value resort and our first trip without ADRs. :scared1:

Our friends, who haven't been to WDW in over 30 years, asked me to plan a trip. They want to stay in a value resort and eat at counter service restaurants.

This is all new to me. :confused3

Kathy Pop was my first resort as an adult paying for my own trip. We really enjoyed it. The only problem we had was our flight got in late, it was dark and we had a difficult time finding our building. :rotfl: Their food court is quite good, actually we went back there to eat a meal on our next vacation. The theme is really fun, the rooms are small so hopefully you and your freinds will each have their own room. If I remember correctly the beds are doubles??? Someone correct me if I am wrong. How fun it will be to see WDW through someone who hasn't been in many, many years. :)

Hmmmm shopping in Hawaii.....
:woohoo:

Hmmmm I know what your thinking......umm so was I :flower3: Alison!!!!

How true. Kim, anything you'd like to say about this matter?

:lmao::rotfl:

Hi Pam :wave2:

Ann

So do I get a prize for not doing a trip report for any of my trips? :confused3 I am bound and determined to do one this time.

I am working on starting the scrapbook of my trip in 2010! i hope I get it done before I go in 13.

Good morning Js & Ks! :wave2:

Early morning thunderstorms here! :scared1:

I've never done a trip report either. I do enjoy reading others' reports, but have never felt the desire to create one myself. :confused3

I do cherish our scrapbooks though -- lots of wonderful memories jam-packed into them. My family really enjoys looking through them! :cloud9:

Good luck getting your 2010 scrapbook done. Finding the time is the hard part -- and I can only imagine with all you have on your plate, time is a very precious commodity. :flower3:

Scrapbooking is so time consuming:scared: I did one for our trip in 2009, but now I have 3 trips I need to scrapbook for and no time to do any. But I do love buying all the cute supplies for them. I have a huge bin filled with all stuff:sad2:

I agree - but my family loves looking thru the pics. I do yearly photo books from shutterfly (when on sale). We like these too but nothing is better than a something homemade & heartfelt ..... Now I should do some - three trips worth waiting for me .... Plus I'm making a dance one for DD that I want to start now & not wait till she is a senior in HS! :)

I've only been on this thread for awhile but I have to say you are the nicest group of people on the dis - so supportive & funny too!

Happy Tuesday! 20 days to go!

Good Morning Js & Ks! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the advice regarding the Pop Century. I've always wanted to visit the resort to check out the grounds.

I will most definitely stroll over to the Art of Animation food court. It has such a varied menu compared to most food courts.

I remembered.... You have been added!

Kathy, I think you and your friends should plan to walk over to Art of Animation and try the food court there. Have you seen the menu? Looks so yummy. I will be there on October 7th and will definitely do a little investigating (and taste-testing)!! :thumbsup2

That sounds like fun... Taste Testing.... and then the cave! Wait that sounds like F&W... hmmm now wonder I think I like that!:beach:

I havnt heard about Smith Island, will have to look it up.

I don't care for camping myself, too many bugs for my liking.

I'm hoping to get back to Assateague in the next few weeks, just love sitting on the beach with my lovey dog :)

The pictures you took last time were beautiful so hopefully you will post more when you go...

Smith Island requires a ferry to get out to it, and they have a bakery there that is run by one family and it bakes the "Smith Island Cake" which is the State cake of Maryland! Go figure.... I had it a couple of weeks ago and my friend was telling me about the island, and now I want to go visit...
