Yes J'boro was on that show...never watched it...but I remember the Food Network trucks camped out in downtown for a day or so.

I love Bridges...the design and engineering that goes into them just facinates me...and when they are "eye catching" as this one and the one just north in Brunswick, GA. (Sydney Lanier Bridge)...I appreciate them even more.

9A is much shorter than the I-295 Route...and allot less stressful than I-95 through Jax. and do not let the fact that it is not labeled as an Interstate fool you...it is a fully Interstate grade road...3 lanes...and a very good drive.

Yeah...was my HS too...1987. All the circles are called Pods...labeled with Letters...Biggest one it the gym.

Tom Tom has a whole bunch of voices for download...not sure about Garmin?

Very cool suspension bridge crossing St. Johns River...there a very impressive Ship headed out to sea here too...but could not get a picture...don't see how that thing floated...looked like a very large box.

Probably one of the car carriers...Giant Ocean Going Parking Garage...Toyota and a couple of other bring all their east coast cars in through Jacksonville--the military is a heavy user of that port too

Trust me dude, take 9A...295 is a nightmare--AND the long way around. 95 has heavy construction and "odd" traffic patterns at the 95/10 Interchange downtown...not to mention just being a general pain the behind downtown..

9A has been completed so there's no red lights (used to have one)...like Nate says, it's a full multi lane highway that meets 95 South at the same spot 295 does!

Exactly...but it's pretty handy to see what gas stations are coming up and how far off the interstate they are...plus when you arrive at your destination...it's nice to hear Yoda say... I can get $29 flights to Orlando...and $29 Back...but the frequency of the flights (Sun, Tue, Thurs) would make my stay either too long or too short...plus $29 plus taxes and fees can add up.

Not to mention...I have control issues about relying on Disney Transportation...

...except the Monorail.

Well first you smell plastic burning...then the little card with Disney Characters and a VISA logo burst into flames...if your lucky...it's not in your pants at the time.

As luck would have it this time...I still had Don's card.

We don't do anything on credit. Cash and debit purchases only, checks when neither will do. Still, the discounts at Disney make me want to get a Disney visa card. Granted, I WON'T, but it is really tempting.

I agree with you from the standpoint that I hate using credit, but I've forgotten to write things in my check register from debit card use (and my wife once had a -$3000 balance in her checking account when someone copied her debit card). I refuse to use a debit card unless it is at the ATM at my bank. Cash and checks aren't always acceptable and it costs money to get checks, so I've actually become a big fan of using credit cards. We just have to review the statement and write 1 check each month for all the purchases on it. No cost, and we get the rewards. My wife and I are pretty frugal and careful about expenses though, so even though we are just swiping a card, we're good about monitoring use and not overspending. That's the only possible downside to doing it this way, but it works for us.

I understand and admire your stand on Credit Cards.

I do not like to carry allot of cash on Vacation...nor do I like using my Debit Card...as receipts will get lost and not written in the check register...so on Vacation...we live on the Disney VISA. And we keep track of the damage.

Currently I'm carrying a small balance...plan to pay off with my Corn Maze Money.

The Discount on Merchandise is nice...and they were offering it EVERYWHERE this year...Last Year it was only at the World of Disney Store in DTD...and I got it on purchases less than $50. Either they had just modified the promo...or we were lucky. The Free Photopass Picture at EPCOT is also a nice keepsake.
