It's my Birthday & I Celebrated! Lots of photos, food and fun! Updated 9/23

Paula congrats on your celeb sighting! I have yet to have one....well, once I saw a girl from this VH1 reality show in line for ToT but wasn't close enough to say anything. I don't think I would count that as an actual celeb sighting anyways. Thank goodness for Kim's braveness in asking her for a picture. That is one opportunity I am sure you are glad you didn't miss :)

It was cool that she Kim went up to her. I would never have seen her let alone had the gumption to go up to her!

I think I remember you mentioning seeing her on your FB updates.....very cool & man, Kim is a gutsy lady....I don't think I could have done that....but I would have loved getting the picture with her too!!!!

I've never seen anyone & supposedly Pierce Bronson was there during the Diva trip.....but I never saw him or a big group of VIP personnel surrounding anyone.....I think he was sighted over at the Grand.

Yup... it was posted on facebook. Pierce Bronson! I used to have a HUGE crush on him!

Soooo cool! :thumbsup2 I actually just started watching Glee this year!

My hubby hates that I watch GLEE lol. I like those kinds of shows!

Great update and it's wonderful to see you!!

Thanks... not sure how long till I disappear again... hopefully I can at least get more of my TR done but life is so crazy!

When we headed back to the Paradise Pier it was just to change clothes and then we were heading back to Disneyland to find a spot for the fireworks! I grabbed my super size beach towel and a fleece and Kim made sure her sweater was dry.

When we got back to Disneyland we saw that crowds were already gathering around the hub. We didn't see any free benches but we did see some free bricks to sit on near the hub. We checked around the area to make sure it wasn't being saved and then put the towel down to have a seat on.

Soon enough it was time for some fireworks!

When you wish Upon a Star...

After the fireworks were done we sat back and just chilled for awhile as the park was now closed everyone would be heading out. WE waited probably 15 minutes and then made our way out and back to the PPH for another night in our super comfy beds!

I am enjoying the heck out of your trip report! LOVE the birthday beignet. :goodvibes

Your firework pictures are great. I have resigned myself to watching not snapping during fireworks.

We've never ridden on the Mark Twain. Looks like that may have to go on our list for December this year.

Standing by for more....popcorn::

I just read your TR and I love it! That is SO cool you guys met Dot. I love Glee as much as I love Disney so that'd be so cool to see someone from the cast walking around the park. :yay: Also, your firework pictures are incredible. :wizard:

I'm glad you are enjoying my report. There is a lot more to come!!

The Birthday Beignet was cute but after the Monte Cristo I was only able to have a bite of it.

I have a lot more Fireworks pictures but I only posted the better ones. the others didn't come out very well.

This was my first time on the Mark Twain. Its great for a leisurely break!

Thanks for joining in on my report. It gets a little slow at times as my life gets busy but I really have good intentions!

It was cool to see someone in person that I've watched on TV!

So sometime the previous day I was talking with Kim about our meal plans for Friday. We had had a great time at our previous Character Meals so I asked if she wanted to do another one. It would mean getting up early so we could still make rope drop but I was willing if she was.

Yup! We were both willing!

So we awoke probably around 6ish. Showered and got ready. And headed to the Grand Californian for the Critter Breakfast.

We were one of the first group to arrive and were seated pretty quickly. Since we didn't see any characters yet we went to get some food.

My plate...

Can I just say I LOVE :lovestruc Disneyland Bacon! So addicting!

Soon it was time to see the characters!

ry%3D400

Next up Rafiki came to pose for us...

ry%3D400

And apparently he had something in his NOSE!
ry%3D400

He didn't seem to realize we wanted pictures though as he was about to walk away on us!

See... he was baffled...

This is a fun little breakfast....we'd never done it before & did it last summer. I'm glad we did. Loved seeing some different characters (Kenai, Meeko). The food here is also delicious!!!

Once we were finished at the Character breakfast we exited the Grand Californian to head to the esplanade to wait for entrance. We did not have long of a wait before we were let in to wait again...

The plan for the day was much the same as it had been the previous day. We wanted to do a Character Meet & Greet. Up today was Pixie Hollow. Tink is Kim's favorite character so I knew it was a must to make sure they met and the best time was right at the start of the day. I wanted to also get FP for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as it was closed the rest of the week and we HAD to ride it! Therefore I sent Kim to Pixie Hollow and I went to Frontierland. I knew she would probably make it first again so I told her just to let people inline and then get inline after a couple of families had entered.

When I reached Frontierland however I discovered BTMRR was not yet operating and therefor they were not giving out any FP's!! I then decided to grap FP for Indy as we had only rode it once and I wasn't sure if Kim wanted to ride it again.

After I had the FP in hand I headed to meet up with Kim at Pixie Hollow. We had been correct she had been first in line and was just waiting for me.

ry%3D400

First up was Silvermist.

I asked if we could do a fun pose so we did a grumpy pose...
ry%3D400

And a blowing kisses...
ry%3D400

As we excited Pixie Hollow we came across a Photopass Photographer just standing there so of course we were going to get a picture taken!
ry%3D400

From there we were headed to ride some Astro Orbitors... Another ride I figured was worth riding at least once with Kim.

Some pics snapped while standing in line...

It's a cute breakfast but I think it is my least favorite. I've tried all but Ariels now... To me the characters are not as fun as the other places. It is nice to see some other characters but the fact that they cannot sign your book is sad... They should have stickers like Duffy does!

Great updates. I think I might like to try the Storyteller breakfast sometime. It looks like a more mellow kind of character meal.

I love Pixie Hollow. The theming is absolutely amazing.

If I had to rate the character meals, the Critter would take last place....but still enjoyable. Stickers would be a great idea!!!

I have to say that the Tink you saw is the least cutest (is that even proper English????) one I've seen. Usually we see a really cutesy one with great attitude. I've never seen that one before. I love Pixie Hollow....but I feel so darned big next to those little pixies!!!

Long time reader first time commenter! Loving the TR especially all the photos! Making me wish that I could magically double the money sitting in my bank account so I could fly across the world to visit again!

Paula you have me laughing out loud with that character breakfast! From Syrup face, to Rafiki's posing to your bday cupcake. :rotfl:

How would you (or anyone else) rank the character meals? We've only done the Grand Californian one and Goofy's Kitchen when there was a flood and we were served in a ballroom....

TK

Love all the photos Paula. The firework ones are great! And you got to meet so many characters! It's nice to have friends that are willing to do that. No one would do it with me either time we went, lol.

What kind of camera did you say you had? I am looking for a new point and shoot, and I love the clarity and colors of your photos.
