It's my Birthday & I Celebrated! Lots of photos, food and fun! Updated 9/23

Thanks for sharing this report! But OMG the rope drop crowds terrify me! Is that a normal rope drop crowd? Yowza. I think my DD would get squished. Oooh.. Just had an idea. Maybe I could do rope drop by myself just once and have the family sleep in (I know they will want to!) and meet me a little later. ;)

We saw it once in 2005, if I had known it was going to go away, I would have made an effort to see it lots more during that trip!

It was along the lines of Aladdin - great acting and singing, elaborate props, etc. which told the snow white story.

I wish I had started going to DL sooner! I still can't believe I let so many people tell me WDW was better and I would be dissapointed in DL! I LOVE both! I moved to CA in 2003. I should have started going much sooner!

Sounds like they're going to put a show back into that area & the princesses will hold "court" down in the Plaza Pavillion to the left of the castle. Of course people then were questioning what are they going to do with all the school & dance groups that perform there.

I've never gone to watch any of the school groups so I wouldn't be disappointed in that but I am sure many students and parents would be!

I'm reading along! What a fun trip for you and your friend!

Thanks for reading!1 We had a blast! I wish she could join me again for a trip! It was so awesome to spend the time with her!

I think the Rope Drop crowds were big because it was a later opening time. It's best to get there early though or you will be disappointed in that its so crowded once you are trying to get around the park! I'd much rather stand at RD and get on a ton of rides in my first hour than skip RD and wait an hour for a single ride!

Since we had made it through Princess Fantasy Faire so quickly it was back to Fantasyland to catch a couple of Rides we had missed. First up was a ride that usually gathers a line pretty quickly so we thought now would be a perfect time!

Yes... The Storybook Canals!

Lots of pictures!!

Sorry a lot of pictures are off center but well... I was on a boat!!

After our delightful tour we headed off to another ride that we kept saying we were going to do but with my short term memory issues I kept forgetting when we got off the ride we were on before I said we were going to ride it!

King Arthur's Carousel!

And as we rode I spotted a PhotoPass Photographer!!
ry%3D400

So of course when we got off we had to get some pics from him but we will have to wait for the PhotoPass CD to see them!!

And then we were off to another Fantasyland ride I think gets overlooked!

Casey Jr. Circus Train! When I saw the line I thought we were going to have to wait a turn but it turned out that the train holds more people than I thought and we had barely any wait at all!

these pics were taken during our short wait..

What wonderful photos. I have not been on the Storybook Land Canal Boats or the Casey Jr for years. I have forgotten how adorable the little villages are. The artistry that goes into just maintaining that area is amazing. I cannot imagine having my hands steady enough to trim the trees and bushes. Thank you for sharing these great shots.

I love Fantasyland......so magical & CUTE!!!! Thanx for making me smile tonight!!

Wonderful photos. DD7 and I had so much fun riding Casey and Storyland last trip. It's nice that she's at the age where she really appreciates all the little details. And I still love riding the carousel!

You should ride it the next time you make it to DL! I think they are wonderful rides! So MUCH detail!!

you're welcome... Hopefully more smiles to come!

Great photos from SLCB and Casey Jr.

Thank You

I have a habit of only going to FL in the mornings when its not crowded. I really want to ride Storybook Land at night so have to make it a point to get there at night next time!

--------
so I think its about time I posted some sort of an update!!

When we departed our train ride through the storybook land we took the path from Fantasyland to Fronteirland...

Some pictures along the way...

ry%3D400

Unfortunately the main ride in Fronteirland was still closed so it was off to New Orleans Square instead.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And then it was time to enter....
ry%3D400

I tried to snap some pictures of the pirates on the walls...
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I was kinda stopped short from getting them all as their really wasn't a line and I was holding people up!

Some good and some not very good pics of the ride...
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

I keep trying to get a final shot of Jack Sparrow...
ry%3D400

And we returned safely...
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

From there it was only natural to go to the Haunted Mansion

ry%3D400

Again where we practically walked right in.
ry%3D400

From there we headed towards the hub as we had some time before our lunch reservation but not a whole lot so I didn't want to get stuck somewhere and miss our timeslot!

Someone gave Minnie a flower!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Look at all the people just now coming down Main Street...
ry%3D400

With a little time to spare we decided we would do a first for me!

But... I'm out of space for pictures!!!

Had a lot to catch up on! It's been a busy summer...

I especially enjoyed your Storybook Land pictures. Some of the very best I've ever seen!

So what was one of the things I had never done before?!?!

Ride the Omnibus!!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And then we headed to our lunch reservation. We didn't have that far to walk... We were headed to Carnation Cafe!!!

So I had heard so much about the Baked Potato Soup I just knew I would have to give it a try!
ry%3D400

I also ordered the Steak Sandwich with Potato Salad...
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Kim ordered the Turkey sandwich on Pretzel Bread with a side of fruit.
ry%3D400

The Baked Potato soup was just as good as others have posted! It was absolutely delicious!!! I was wishing I had ordered a bowl! But then again my lactose intolerance may have protested to that much!!

The Steak Sandwich was good! I had subbed the Pepperjack cheese for Provolone (I don't DO Spicy!)
The potato salad was ICK! It was like a paste and just ewww... I won't make that mistake again!

Kim said her sandwich was good. She really liked the Pretzel Bread!

I was sad we did not see Chef Oscar and nor did I get anything special for my Birthday! Our server seemed to not be overly cheerful to be at work...

After lunch we wanted to do something that would not upset our stomachs and Kim wanted a rematch on Buzz Lightyear!

And a rematch she got! She kicked my Butt!!! (I think there was something wrong with my gun! :rotfl2:)

ry%3D400

From there we headed to the back side of the park to spend some time in Critter Country.

And a trip through the 100 Acre Woods...

ry%3D400

And we got to ride in the Pooh car!!!
ry%3D400

I love the Winnie the Pooh ride... I know a lot of people do not care for it but I think it is cute!

I love the Pooh ride.....it's so bright & colorful....you can't help but smile while on it. I think I'm alone in saying....I don't like Splash. So I enjoy everything else in Critter Country.....the Pooh ride, the meet-n-greet, the store up there & Hungry Bear Restaurant. Everyone's usually making a mad dash to Splash & I'm leisurely taking in the scenery up there......lol

We've never done the lunch at Carnation Cafe. I just love their breakfasts that I don't want to give them up for lunch. The reviews for the Baked Potato Soup are always good....but I'm not a huge baked potato fan (especially loaded up with stuff)....so not sure I'd be as excited about it.

My family loves doing Buzz.....I ride it to look around & rarely actually play it......seems like the last few times I've been on it, it breaks down & we sit in one spot as the sound continues to blare....of course my family loves to sit there & rack up the points.....I usually pull out the camera & take pics.

Was happy to see an update & will look forward to your next one!!!

And I can't go to Critter Country without a stop here...
ry%3D400

Some of the treats!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Of course we were both still very full from lunch so we passed on taking advantage of any of the treats!

And went to stand in what was probably our longest wait of the day!

Some pictures as we waited...

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And then it was finally our time!!
ry%3D400

Unfortunately Pooh was the only one available for us to meet! But Tigger and Eeyore would be out shortly... So what do we do?!!? We get back in line!

And get to Meet Tigger!
ry%3D400

And there was no Photopass Photog for Eeyere so Kim and I took turns with him.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

At some point I had grabbed FP for Splash ( I think after we rode Haunted Mansion in the morning?!?) We were waiting for the sun to come out to ride it but the June Gloom seemed to be hanging on extra long that day so we just decided we would brave it!

ry%3D400

Splash Mountain is one of my favorites! It's such a cute ride!!

We were originally going to ride Splash Mountain and then head to DCA to ride Grizzly but we didn't get that wet on Splash so decided to just stick around and do some more in DL!

I loved the look of this T-shirt. It looks like it would be an awesome Tattoo Design!
ry%3D400

We had picked up some FP for Autopia so we headed back to NOS and got on the train to Tomorrowland.

Kim's sandwich looks sooo good, I must try that sometime.

Thank you! this TR has been moving kinda slow so you probably didn't have that much to catch up on!!
I need to get it moving though as it NEEDS to be done to be able to move onto the next one!!

I love Baked Potatoes although I usually just do the Potatoes with Butter... The soup was really quite delicious though so if you can manage to make it for lunch you must try it!!

I love the game rides... I did REALLY bad on that one though... not sure what happened!

Critter country is fun! I really enjoy Splash. It's one of my fav's.

An update!! :woohoo:
Kim's sandwich looks sooo good, I must try that sometime.

Yeah... I figured it was about time. :lmao:

I'm not a big fan of cold sandwiches... which is why I got the steak one but she said it was quite tasty!

Ooohhh...more updates! When I commented just a little bit ago I almost asked if you had a chance to ride the Omnibus, but decided to just hold off and wait to see if you mentioned it in a later post. Lo and behold...there it was in your next update! What did you think? I feel like I am transported back in time. It's just fun to enjoy Main Street at a more leisurely pace.

Mmmm! My favorite soup! I have been craving it lately. Maybe because I know my sister will be eating some very soon. :)

I think its a great way to travel Mainstreet! Nice and relaxing!

The soup is wonderful!! I had some baked potato soup at Chili's when I got back and it was SO BAD!! Hubby had some at iHop the other day and it was okay lol.
