I am so pleased we'll be hosting the Olympics. I hope to take my daughters to the gymnastics for certain and hopefully some other events too.

I am so excited - can't wait for DS to arrive home from school - He told me this morning tha he WILL be swimming at the 2012 olympics - he has the talent and the motivation I only hope that he achieves his goal - but lets get this years nationals over with first. We live just a couple of miles away from the area that most of the events will take place at what a fantastic opportunity for London

I think the one with the girl running through London, called 'Sport at Heart' is very good and the choice of Heather Small singing Proud as the backing track was inspired

That hour long wait from the vote to the announcement was nerve- wracking!!

Im really pleased about this. Im not really fussed about us actualy hosting in 2012, more that its one up on the French.
I just read that it was 54-50 in the voting, which means if Chirac hadnt offended the Finnish (who had 2 votes), then probably it would have been 52-52......which makes victory even sweeter.
Superb.

That's really great , we always seem to have such high hopes in these things eg. sporting events and loose out at the last.
PS can't we move DLRP to somewhere more friendly, it's not so much the people but Chirac and the government.
