The Way You Love Me Its Frightening...

We are arriving the week after next and I know it's a long ways away weather-wise, but the forecast for the 20-22April is showing thunderstorms!

I have the F! dining package booked for one of those days, how does inclement weather or lightning effect outdoor shows like F!? We've been in DL when it's rained and since we are coming from the Wet Coast, rain doesn't bother us, we just want to know what could happen in the case of an actual thunderstorm with lightning. Thanks in advance!

I don't have an answer to your F! question... but I will be there around the same dates. What website are you seeing this weather report? I know that SoCal weather is very variable and hard to predict (especially this far out), but thunderstorms would be awful!

If it rains, sometime F! gets cancelled due to the slippery ground being hazardous for the performers. WoC on the other hand often still goes on in the rain. I don't know how thunder would affect things, but I don't imagine it would have much impact. But be sure to watch the forecast - it's really not reliable this far out.

We saw the weather forecast for the week of our trip change each day and then continue to change as we got there - the weather on the coast is very hard to predict more than a day or two out it seems so you could have a full on thunderstorm or it could be hot and sunny - this far out it's a guess at best!

All of them lol! Mostly accuweather.

I wouldn’t worry unless you’re seeing 70%+ chance at 3-4 days out. Even that has a really good chance of turning into nothing, though.

California is supposed to be getting more storms in the coming weeks. We just had a bad storm here in Mariposa & Tuolumne counties and we were without water for a week. Local Facebook page has people freaking out that another storm is coming. I'm pretty sure this is just rain and won't be the same, but I see that the storms just keep coming for several weeks. So it very likely could rain in late April at Disneyland, though I agree it is a bit early to worry. I would say keep an eye on the weather and cancel at least 24 hours in advance if you need/want to. You will not get a refund because the FP is considered free and you are paying for your meal. The good news is that crowds will be a bit lighter at DL if it does rain. Get some ponchos just in case.

Noooooo! I will be there for my first Dapper Day and also have a F!
ressie for the 21st. Please, please, please no rain!

We will be there for our first Dapper Weekend too with F! RBT premium dining for the 22nd.

I dont look at SoCal weather until I wake-up and stick my head out of my hotel room door or balcony...:) and then it will likely change before I get back in the room.

Every time we go we plan for the worst and hope for the best. With that said, we've been rained on in the DLR far more than WDW over the past few years. We've learned to pack for rain even if it's predicted to be 100% dry.

On the flip side, DLR in the rain keeps the crowds down, although rain on Dapper Day would make it Damper Day and mess up my straw boater...Plan B will be a more weather friendly outfit if it happens to rain. We used to be poncho people and have really nice ponchos (if there is such a thing), but recently switched to raincoats at they feel better over a long rainy day. Ponchos, even good quality (non-dollar store) ones feel hot and heavy after a long day.

All week the forecast was calling for lots of rain tomorrow. As of today, poof... no rain and sunny for tomorrow.

I wouldn’t even think about the forecast that far in advance, much less worry about it.

So true, about it being too far out to tell, but can anyone answer the Fantasmic question? What do they do when it rains?

What I've heard is that if the ground is slippery they will likely cancel it for the safety of the performers.

Do you know if you get part of your package money back or no? The is booked for the last night of our trip (it's the only night with Fantasmic). Just curious since we have never booked a package.

Quote from the booking page:
  • Fantasmic! can be cancelled without notice due to technical, weather or other issues.
  • No refunds or exchanges will be available, even if the show is cancelled.
You still pay full package price for the meal even if Fantasmic is not performed that evening.

OP, If there is lightening in the vicinity it will be cancelled for everyone’s safety. You cannot have performers out on a body of water when there is lightening in the area.
