it's here

Beautiful ship. I can hardly wait for the MV. :sail:

For a ship that size, it looks really nice, not tacky like some other lines. After our Wonder cruise I was hoping to cruise on the Magic and then the Dream, but the Wish has just bumped those two down the list even with the jacked up prices. It just makes me sad that it doesn't go anywhere more interesting than Nassau and CC and likely won't for a long time if ever.

No. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of fanfare. Dream and Fantasy had a much bigger celebration.

the 'official' celebration is still a couple of weeks out . . .

The next event of the new ship’s welcome celebration will be her official christening, slated for Wednesday, June 29 at Cruise Terminal 8 in Port Canaveral.

While the exact time for this event has not yet been announced, nor have many details been released, it is sure to be a high-profile ceremony

The highlight will be the official naming, which will involve the traditional champagne bottle breakage over the ship’s hull, a time-honored ceremony for all cruise ships.

Rehearsals for the christening are planned in the days leading up to the official event, and Disney Cruise Line has received approval for bleachers, a stage, audio and light towers, video walls, tents, and special effects to be used as part of the event, ensuring that it will be a spectacular and memorable occasion.

Just for clarification on this (incase anyone didn't know) Disney has announced they will be live streaming the christening with live performances, Disney stars, cast and crew showing the inside of the ship among other things at 11am EDT on June 29th. It will be a big thing.

I was watching the video on Scotts blog and thinking "why is it still dark? I thought this was supposed to be at 5am?" Then realized d'uh, I'm much further north than Florida lol Here in Vancouver, by 5am at this time of year it's practically broad daylight :rotfl2:
