Aww thanks. I plan on it! I just printed mine on lime green cardstock and cut it out by hand. It's a bummer they don't have the paint samples anymore.

I was more excited to stumble upon the schedule of special dinners and events. I want to see 2016 menus of the kiosks. But at least information is now trickling out!

Also DH and I are really planning our QS options as much as our TS but we have come up with a list of places we might want to check out. Please feel free to give me your opinions. As I've mentioned, I'm the adventurous eater & get tired of burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets really quickly whereas DH could eat them every meal, every day.

Cooke's of Dublin
Superstar Catering Food Truck

Harambe Market
Sunshine Seasons
Taste Track
Kringla Bakeri
Les Halles
Tangierine Cafe
Yorkshire Fish
ABC Commissary
Backlot Express
Columbia Harbor House
Pecos Bill

I'm enjoying your PTR as I am also going in October (just earlier in the month).

Sunshine Seasons is one of my favorite QS options. The food is REALLY quite good... and frankly, better than some of the TS options that I have eaten. I really don't like burgers and junk all the time, and we have always been happy with our meals there.

Columbia Harbor House is my favorite QS option at MK. My daughter is a Tuna sandwich fiend, and loves it there ... and frankly, she appreciates not having to eat chicken nuggets at every meal. I have had both the lobster roll and fried shrimp and was satisfied.

Backlot Express had a vegetarian sandwich years ago that I adored... and the replacement is not as good. I haven't gotten over this. (Side note: I tend to hold food grudges with places when they get rid of my favorites.) But, that being said, we enjoyed our meal there last time. I often read on Disney food boards where people tend to not like the food options at HS, but I quite enjoy them. :confused3

I lived in Norway, so Kringla is always a snack stop for us.

I thought about doing a special event this year but with my picky hubby, I have a feeling it would just be a waster of money :(

Awesome! Thank you so much for your input. I'm glad I'm not the only one who holds food grudges!

This past week was crazy busy! We are still in the process of moving at work plus I'm still in the process of training the new hire & now she is out for 2 days because of a death in the family :( Her dad & uncle work for the company too plus we have 3 other people out on vacation so we're really short handed this week.

This weekend was my birthday weekend & I spent the better part of Saturday working on some of my DIY projects for the trip.

I managed to get my autograph book completed. The rings aren't the right size (I will be getting smaller ones) because I customize the book based on what characters we will see that day.

I also got some of our (well, mainly my) outfits together. We are wearing matching theme shirts each day.

I couldn't find a Finding Nemo shirt I liked so I made one.

So far everything is coming together nicely. No major hiccups except for the fact that WE STILL DON'T HAVE OUR FLIGHTS BOOKED!!! It's giving me panic attacks! I'm also still waiting to see if they will extend the Star Wars dessert party to October. Our FP+ day is August 20th so we'll see how that goes as well.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Too bad you can't ditch him for a couple hours and meet up with not as picky folks! :rotfl2:

That's how I was feeling when we got home from the Alaska trip! But I took care of that last weekend. We had to cut our trip a day short, but we saved almost the equivalent of two one way first class flights (in miles) by coming home a day early. Well we could have taken the 6:30AM flight home, but I don't play that way!

You are CRAZY-organized! I'm just trying to get my suitcases unpacked from our last trip and I won't even think about what we're wearing until after I book our FP+. I need to put that date in my phone. :rolleyes1

Hope you're having a great time! :cool1:

I did!! Thanks!

Ha! Don't think I haven't thought about that! I've even threatened to go on a girls only trip, just so I can try some things he wouldn't enjoy.

Wow! That is quite a savings! I'm hoping to get mine booked next month. I'm starting to get really anxious because we booked dinner ADRs based on the original flights we wanted & I'm afraid the ones we'll actually get will muck everything up.

I am pretty organized but it also helps keep my spirits up. Plus since we are usually on a pretty tight budget, it helps to keep me from freaking out about finances lol.

F&W Plan of Attack

After perusing the F&W details, I've come up with my Festival Bucket List! The list isn't as long as I originally thought it would be but I'm okay. I still don't think I'll be able to finish the bucket list!

Non-Food Related Activities:

Unfortunately none of the concerts interest me this year but that just means there's more time for food, drinks, and rides. Also, because of my picky hubby, we are not signing up for any seminars either. There was one that I thought we would really like (professional pumpkin carving) but it's not being offered on either of our EPCOT days and I'm not sure I can rearrange anything :(

However, we will definitely be checking out The Chocolate Experience at the Festival Center (I believe) because...chocolate. We'll also be playing Remy's Ratatouille Hide & Squeak in conjunction with Agent P.

Bucket List:

Australia - Lamington
Belgium - beer braised beef & Belgian waffle with chocolate ganache
Brazil - crispy pork belly and Brazilian cheese bread
Canada - filet mignon & cheddar cheese soup (If I can't go to Le Cellier, this is the next best thing)
The Chew - beef skewer and peanut butter white chocolate mousse
China - potstickers & either Kung Fu Punch or Happy Punch
Chocolate Studio - chocolate raspberry torte
Dessert & Champagne - Hard cherry cola float
Farm Fresh - loaded mac n cheese
France - Boeuf Bourguignon or creme brulee & Las Passion martini slush
Germany - apple strudel
Hawaii - Kalua pork slider & Mai Tai
Hops & Barley - beef brisket on griddled garlic toast
Ireland - ALL OF IT!!! And I'm not even kidding fisherman's pie, chocolate pudding, cheese selection
Islands of Caribbean - mojo pork
Italy - Moscato Spumante
Mexico - shrimp tacos
Morocco - hummus fries
Wine & Dine - cheese selection & seared scallop
Intermissions Cafe - peach Moscato or apple pie hard cider

Now, I know this looks like a lot but please keep in mind 1) We are in EPCOT for 1.5 days and the majority of that time will be at the festival, 2) we have no meals planned for those 1.5 days, and 3) I'm a pig. I still may not be able to get it all done but I'm sure going to try! Maybe I can bring some plastic baggies for leftovers. :)

I'm surprised that's all you're going for! When I post my list you'll probably think I'm a huge pig, but also we plan more days in Epcot than you do

I am jealous of your overall restraint, though! I'm going to have to do some serious paring down of my F&W bucket list. It's going to cost me a small fortune!

Saw your list & I don't think you're a pig at all. You guys do have more EPCOT days than we do. There are some other things I would be willing to try but I would have to share them with someone.

Restraint nothing. Just because my F&W list is small doesn't mean I have any kind of restraint. Have you noticed how many buffets we booked??? lol

I combined all the gift cards I've amassed over the year from Christmas, birthday, and rewards programs and I have $315 to spend at WDW so far. I'm not even the least bit ashamed to admit that this, along with the majority of my snack credits, will be going towards F&W and alcohol. Sorry not sorry.

Let's get the trip update portion out of the way.

Still don't have our flights booked and it's causing me serious anxiety. I'm relying on someone else to get these booked and it sucks!!! Hopefully this will be taken care of by next week. I'm just waiting on a good time to ask this person about it.

I ended up cancelling our Beaches & Cream ADR this week. We did some calculating & they've extended park hours for MK that night so we decided to spend that time in the park instead of eating. (I know, I know & yes, we feel fine)

While we're on the subject of ADRs, if our flights don't work out, we will have to cancel our 50's Prime Time for arrival day. I was able to book a 6:25 pm ADR for one of our HS days though. The downside of this is 1) we already have 2 other ADRs that day but they are spread far apart and 2) this is also the day I had planned on doing the Star Wars Dessert Party if they extend it.

Let's also talk about the demise of MSEP. I am so disappointed that I am going to miss the final one by 10 days!!! This is one of my favorite parades and has been since my first trip to WDW. Yes I know all good things come to an end and yes I know they will probably get something just as good or better to replace it but I STILL HATE IT!!!!!

giphy.gif

Still participating in the waiting game regarding RoL and the Star Wars Dessert Party. If RoL open before our trip, we're still planning on turning our Tusker House ADR into the dining package. I'm just really hoping I don't have to do a bunch of ADR shuffling at the last minute.

FP+: Our window opens in 9 days and even though I have a list of what rides we want to get them for, I have no plan on what time to book them for! DH and I are going to have to find time & discuss it this weekend sometime. I think we may try to book them as early as possible in the day. That way we can add more if need be. It's just hard for me to judge how much time we will need between rides and ADRs.

Up next: MOVIE NIGHTS!

DH and I decided that starting this month, we would watch 1 Disney movie a week until the day we leave for WDW. We put the titles of every Disney movie we owned or could stream (and of course that we thought we would like) and put them in a bucket. We drew 11 titles and had our first movie night last week and our second one last night. Which movies were the chosen ones? (If you follow me on FB, you kind of already know).

Please, please come closer

IMG_0726.JPG

Too close, a little too close

Movie Night #1 was one of DH's favorites and one we hadn't watched in awhile...Aladdin.

I planned a small themed dinner consisting of beef kabobs, brown rice, veggies & hummus for me, and mini monkey bread muffins for dessert (which look horrible but were tasty).

PicMonkey Collage.jpg

I'm glad we picked this one. It always makes me laugh and I can still quote almost the whole entire thing. :)

Movie Night #2 was last night and is one of my favorites.

IMG_0790.JPG

For this movie, I planned a somewhat Hawaiian themed menu. We had mac & cheese (because DH didn't care for the Hawaiian pasta salad I made last time), steamed cabbage, and Kalua pork sliders on Hawaiian rolls with sriracha mayo ala F&W Festival. For dessert, we had molten lava cookies (which I just realized I didn't take pictures of).

IMG_0789.JPG

The sliders were good but of course no where near as good as F&W ones because as we all know, almost everything tastes better at WDW.

As soon as DH gets his work schedule for next week, we can decide on when the next movie night will be. I have a feeling this one will be more low-key because I'm having trouble thinking of a menu for it. Also, I still have a lot of things to make for the trip and I am running out of creativity. :(

That's all for now. Since our trip is only a little over 2 months away, I'm sure I'll be back here updating more often.

I definitely have that R2D2 bow and am also taking a Mad Hatter one and a Peter Pan one with me! I have my outfits planned with the R2D2 one and the Mad Hatter one, but am still not 100% sure on the Peter Pan one...the right color green shirt has been hard to find, but I have a brownish colored tank top that may work. I like your autograph book as well! I think we are going to try doing a picture frame mat (matte?) this time around!

The Chocolate Experience at the Festival Center (I believe) because...chocolate

Good answer.

Good idea for sure.

This is my DH's favorite too!

Ooh yum! Love themed dinners like this.

Movie Night #2 was last night and is one of my favorites.

Desserts!

A fav around here too, especially for DS. Even MORE excited that we'll be able to see them at their 'home' in Aulani!

steamed cabbage

How do you make this? Is it literally just steamed cabbage and that's it or do you add other ingredients?

As soon as DH gets his work schedule for next week, we can decide on when the next movie night will be. I have a feeling this one will be more low-key because I'm having trouble thinking of a menu for it.

Check out Pinterest! I've seen lots of Disney themed dinners over there.

That's a cute idea! I thought about doing something like that too but it's just easier for me to carry around a book. Plus I take the autographs & use them on my scrapbook pages.

Good answer.

Thanks! You really don't need any other reason, right?

Good idea for sure.

Yeahhhh, so that plan kind of worked out.

How do you make this? Is it literally just steamed cabbage and that's it or do you add other ingredients?

I do mine in the crockpot with some butter & garlic powder. Sometimes I'll throw some real bacon in with it but I thought it might be pork overload this time.

Check out Pinterest! I've seen lots of Disney themed dinners over there.

Girl, me & Pinterest are like BFFs. We go through weeks without seeing each other but then we spend hours catching up. :)
