Thanks for sticking with me guys!! Life has been pretty crazy lately and I have been down in the dumps! I'm hoping by continuing the TR I will cheer up!!

So where was I? Oh yeah, DRIVING lol!! So after driving what has felt like forever we decided we were going to get some grub!! Where doesone eat on there way to Florida?? That's right Cracker Barrel.

We have one of those not too far from our house but have only eaten there a couple times. Kayla loves it there, and Jack seemed to really love it too. It's just a fun place. Of course I was way too excited to write anything down, so I am working off my memory here (sorry ). John ordered the sausage skillet which he liked quite a bit! Kayla ordered french toast..but they brought her pancakes. She was pretty ticked, but I told her to just eat it because I didn't feel like waiting any longer. She winded up liking the pancakes just fine. I ordered one of their all in one dealy-o's with eggs,cheesey potatos (so dang good!) biscuit with gravy and some other stuff. I enjoyed it! Jack just shared with us considering that he is allergic to everything..well what seems like everything (peanuts,tree nuts,and eggs..fun huh?)
I have some pictures of the food, but it was after we started eating it already, so I'll just not even bother... you can tell we were starving lol After eating we bought some fun stuff from the little shop they have. I got my boss some key-lime coconut patties, Kayla a new webkinz, and jack a little car magnet kit thingy which i put away for xmas.

After stuffing our belly's we were back on the road!! This is where things get a little boring. We just wanted to be there already!! When I say I was beyond excited, I mean I was beyond excited! I decided at this point that Kayla needed to take a nap or else she owuldn't make it to dinner that night at CRT! She didn't argue one bit and fell fast asleep .

My male bff is named Ivan Hoe so I took this picture for him... He lived in Florida for years so I'm sure he's well aware of this, but I thought it was cool anyways lol

As you can see I was just in the mood to take pictures of anything. Finally we started see signs for sea world and I was just about to pee myself with excitement!

Then I started seeing signs for Disney World and I can't explain the feeling, buit I don't think I have to, to all of you. It was just overwhelming. I wanted to cry, but I didn't want John to think I was a whacko lol. I took a ton of shots from this point on.. of everything.. literally lol!

Oh yes..that is the signs for our resort!!

Finally we were at the resort. We parked our car and checked in at All star music. I loved the guy that checked us in! He was this big black dude who was flaming as alll heck! his name was Jarrett!! Hollatcha boy I did not get any pictures of him though ;/ We winded up getting a room on the 3rd floor in the broadway section. I really liked this section as we were right bythe parking lot and near the smaller more quiet pool. When we walked into our room we were greeted by this

I decided this would be a good opprotunity to take pics of the room before we completely destroyed it!

Upon walking into the room, I realized I should have upgraded. The room felt sooo tiny. When we were there in 2005 with just Kayla it didn't feel quite as small. Maybe I gained weight I also realized very quickly that the floor was completely soaked and smelled like mildew! Notthe whole floor, but the part over bythe table and window. I called to complain.. several times.. nothing happened..but we will get to that later! At this point it really hit me that we were in disney, and I was like what are we doing just standing here!!!???

Next up: Get those bathing suits on! and our 1st nights dinner at CRT!! Let the magic begin!

I'm a lurker, joining in. The picture of your daughter on the bed just screams happy to be at Disney...I have many pictures of my daughters sitting on their beds in Disney just smiling away. I guess it doesn't matter where they are in Disney, as long as they know that they're there, it's happiness. Hope things are going better for you. Can't wait to read more.

GASP! Do my eyes deceive me? Is this an update?

EWWWWWWW about the room. Reading that put my mind at ease about canceling our ressie at ASMu and moving back to Pop. I'm not CRAZY about Cracker Barrel but I can deal if I have to. Whenever we drive my mom insists on at least 2 trips to the Barrel. I know I am going to TOTALLY freak out when we get to our room....or even when we get on the ME bus. I feel bad for my kid he just doesn't even know what he's in for. I'm pretty sure he's going to have to reign me in. This is my first trip to Disney sans my overbearing family!


Do you think I'll be lucky enough to get another update before I leave on Monday?

it is an updaye and i think i can indeed give another update! I give you so many props for going to disney solo. i'd be a nervous wreck! I don't travel well solo..actually i don't do anything well solo.;. i wont know what to do once the kids are grown and i get to go to the bathroom all by myself

So where did I leave off?? That's right, what are you all doing just standing there????????? Get your bathing suits on, we're going for a dip!! By this point I needed to swim. I'm not thin so that Florida weather was hitting pooh sized me like woah! We decided we would take it slow and hit up the smaller piano pool. I was nervous about Kayla and Jack.Kayla sometimes hates..well is afraid of the water, and Jack is a nut job who will do anything!! Once we got there all my fears were put at ease. Kayla was a wee bit nervous but loving it and Jack was actually pretty mellow as he didn't like being out of his comfort zone, but he did love the water! We all Loved the water!!

We stayed at the pool about an hour and then went back to the room to get ready to head over to the Mk for our adr at CRT

Now a little background info: When we went to WDW in 2005 it was just Kayla,John and I ( who woulda known I was going to get pregnant with jack 3 months later!! did I mention I was on birth control!!). Anywho in 2005 I purchased the dining plan which was way freakin fabulous then!! Little did I know that making adr's were important (clearly not as important as they are now!) On our first night there we went to MK and after walking around for a while we decided we needed to eat. I stumbled upon CRT , now I knew you could eat here, but I didn't know it was such a big deal. Well we walked up and asked how long the wait was and were told it was a 20 minute wait. 5 mins later we were seated!! Well we fell in love with this place!! The food a-freaking-mazing! The atmosphere was absolutely killer and we just loved it!!

Fast foward to this trip . I knew we had to go back there for dinner and of course it should be on our first night! For those of you who remember CRT in 2005 you know the food was the bomb digg so John was in 100000% agreement to go there again. Kayla was down too! We were sad to find out that they changed the menu, but stoked that it included a picture now and a little show! We all got ready pretty quick and were out the door in under an hour! Of course I stopped to take random pics, which you will now get to enjoy

Once we got there we checked in and were given a card and told to wait to be called for our picture with cinderella While waiting we decided to have some more picture fun...did I mention Jack was a wild man??

I clean up nice, don't I? lol

Finally after what felt like forever (which is what 3 mins feels like with Jack) we were able to see Cinderella. She was so very sweet to Jack who was petrified of her ( you will lol at this later on) and she even semi flirted with John, and made me and Kayla feel like true royalty! After our picture with relly we were given a sword for Jack and a wand for Kayla. Jack though that this was the bees knees! Kayla was jazzed that she got a present too!

About 10 minutes after we got done with our picture we were called upstairs and seated to the immediate right booth. Not a bad seat..not a great one. I was secretly hoping to get a window seat. We were greeted pretty quickly by our server..whos name escapes me right now. She was very nice, but seemed very very overwhelmed. I felt like I had to rush to tell her what I wanted.Then the little show started. Jack thought it was cool, and Kayla was in total shock. She didn't know they were putting on a show..tripple score in her book! I tried to get good pictures of teh show, but I think I was too tired cause I feel like my pictures suck...

All in all we loved the little show that went on, but really wished we were in the center room on the floor..maybe next year??

Next up: Food porn from CRT, dining review of CRT and did we spend time in the MK despite being up all day in the heat after driving forever the night before??

Yes, but i don't see spending 2 TS on it when i can see Cinderella and PC at 1900 Park Fare. We did CRT for breakfast back in 2001 and it was nice, but not worth the extra $$ now. Maybe for an extra special occassion. And it's just so dang EXPENSIVE now with that darn picture package.

So after being seated and watching the very cute show, we decided to look at our menus. I have to apologize I tried taking pics of the dang menu and they all came out stupid! I'll post one just because I feel like I need to at this point.

No matter what I did, flash on..flash off, the dang menu looke dlike crap. Moving on. The waitress brought out the drink ands some pretzel bread with butter and honey mustard butter.HOLY ****ING ****!! THIS BREAD WAS AMAZING!!AND THE HONEY MUSTARD BUTTER, GOOD LORD. I AM NOT KIDDING, I COULD EAT THIS EVERY DAY. I AM BOOKING CRT JUST FOR THIS BREAD NEXT TIME!

How good does that look?? It was amazing, in case you did not understand me! Not only that, but they gave us a ton of it!! Once I ate a ton of this, I decided I should order some food. Kayla ordered a salad as an appetizer, I also ordered a salad, the BLT one to be exact, and john ordered the crab and corn chowder. It was all delicous. My salad could have been a bit more flavorful, but I really enjoyed it. John's soup was amazing!! I'm quite torn between the soup or the salad next year (yes I am thinking of it already!) Kayla's salad was just lettuce,tomoatos and cucs. with ranch dressing. She liked it. I was stoked that she even tried dressing!!

I'd like to add that DS was not on the dining plan because of his age so he did not have any ofthis stuff. Unfortunately he could not have the bread because it had egg in it..dang allergies! The chef did come out and discuss his allergies and said he would bring him out some pasta with butter on the house, and he would bring out some egg/nut free ice cream again on the house. I thought tyis was very sweet. In almost all the places we dined we got great chef's who were overly accomodating! So Kayla ordered chicken fingers and it came with veggies. John and I both ordered the prime rib with awesome gratin potatos and asparagus. Unfortunately despite John's advice I ordered my prime rib medium.. why I dont know.. I knew better but I second guessed myself. It was a little on the dry side, but amazing!! the cabernet sauce was soooo good and I loveeeeeee the gratin potatos!! I loved them last time, and they were just as amazing! Johns review is that this was very good, but it was much better cut of meat in 2005. He wants to go back again though!! (Like he has a say on that one!) Oh Kayla's chicken fingers were amazing!! Seriously, I oculd have ordered them as a meal and been stoked! Jacks pasta was just plain, but he liked it and ate it all up!!

Although we were beyond stuffed, we still ordered dessert!! The one thing that sucks at CRT is their lack of dessert choices!! In 2005 they had awesome desserts..thius time eh... John and I both ordered the choclate cream cheese buckle, and kayla and jack had ice cream.Although I was bummed at the lack of choices the cream cheese buckle was quite good. Neither one of us could finish it though! Kayla and Jack were all about the ice cream, although Kayla gave John her chocolate crown.

Final thoughts:

I love love love this place. The food, the show, the pictures,the wands and swords.. the atmosphere...everything!! I just adore it! I love it so much that I am planning to eat there 3x times on our next trip.. 2 dinners and I would like to try the breakfast there..although Cyrstal palace may win over because dd loves pooh and friends.

CRT takes 2ts and I think it is worth it especially since you get the picture, sword ,wand and show. The food isn't as fancy as it sounds on the menu, so if your not adventerous don't worry too much! I found it all delish. The wait staff wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. All in all I highly reccomend it! Oh tip is also included on this one which I liked

ok i am all caught up, i'm bummed i didn't find this thread sooner because i missed all of your driving pics. i cannot believe you had to start your driving shift right after throwing up! your drive down sounds kind of like torture. i was relieved when i got to the post where you were arriving at WDW! i never even thought about driving to WDW, i just checked and it is 1,024 miles from my house and would take 16 hours. When I was in high school we took a band trip there in a bus and it was an 18 hour drive from Connecticut

DBF & I are Cracker Barrell freaks. Before I met him I was all into trying all the fancy schmancy restaurants in Philly...now I'm just addicted to Cracker Barrell macaroni & cheese oh well, saves us money!

Yes if you are looking for princess character interaction then this is not the place to go. I will have to disagree about the price though. I think it is cheaper now then it was in 2005. Our bill for 3 of us in 2005 was over $250.00. That included apps,entree and desserts. We were on the dining plan then so it was all good for us, but we wouldn;t be able to afford that if we werent on the ddp. Now with the set price we could afford it if not on the ddp. I like that the tip is still inlcuded too!

Why of course we did..kinda. Kayla saw the dumbo ride and begggged to go on it. How could I say no?? who cares how how tired I was, right?? Luckily the line wasn't to long. Of course I got some shots while we were waiting.

The ride was fun and Jack loved it!! After we got off the ride I got this terrible feeling.. this overwhelmingly tired feeling.. I just couldnt keep my eyes open anymore. Oh I should mention that we took the bus from our resort tyis night. This was the first and last time we did this. I've decided I will never use disney transport if I have my vehicle. It is sooo much easier to drive! On the way out we got some random shots.

Once we got back to the resort we all passed out..quickly. But not before I could get some awesome pictures of Kayla and Jack all sorts of passed out!

All in all our first day/night was just as magical as I had hoped! Jack was in awe, John was relaxed, and Kayla just was in heaven!! This is what all the planning was all about!

Next up: Our first full day at WDW. Breakfast at BOMA reviews and food porn. Our day at DAK,a DIS meet up that has made me a lifelong friend! and dinner at WCC, review and food porn!
