It's gonna take a lot to take me away from this view! 7/10 - Finished!

Sounds like you had a great family trip to the pond! Your furbabies are too cute!

Congrats on the class and good luck!

Great pic of the GMR lobby!

YAY for GMR pics!!! I just love that ride!

I got the light up lights necklace when I went!

Great update!

A Change of Scenery!
Next up was another we like to do. We had tried to do it earlier but it was closed for some reason. It was now open and Johnny had a plan.

See? He's on a mission!

It didn't take us long at all to get through (which is why, again, no more queue pics!) and then Johnny put in his request: Could we see the cowboy scene?

You see, I was starting to think it was a myth. Like some type of club you all had where you made a deal with one another to periodically say "I got the cowboy scene!" to make the rest of us wonder about it. I've never seen it, in all the times I've ridden!

Johnny asked.

I could see it all happening right before my very eyes. The CMs start to snicker. They look at each other. Someone whispers; "Another one taken in!"

But no. That was happening in my head.

What really happened was the CM smiled and looked to another CM and asked if the cowboy scene was happening soon. Yes! There's one going in just a minute. Would you care to wait?

Yes please!

We were first in line waiting but soon more people came up behind us.

I snapped this picture of Johnny's new pin while we waited:

In a matter of about 5 minutes our vehicle arrived and we were climbing on, right next to the driver!

He's so excited, but I'm still not convinced.
(Continued in next post)

On one of my past wdw trips, I was telling FIL and T about how they have a cowboy instead of a gangster sometimes. The CM overheard me and pulled us off to the side and had us wait so we could see it.

What a gorgeous hike! I bet the animals loved it.

Congratulations on getting to teach a class! That is so exciting, and from the helpful posts I've read on your reports, I'm sure that you will do great!:goodvibes

Hooray for the cowboy scene!! Finally! I seem to see that one far less than the gangster scene too. Weird how that works out. Your pictures from GMR are fantastic as usual.

Haha, I love that. "We know there's a brook there somewhere on my parent's property." 26 acres is pretty big though, lol.
We've followed the survey line down to the brook before, but that was as far as we'd ever gone. It was fun!

OMG Wendy this is so cool. I almost feel like driving to the Island for the class.
DO IT!! I'll give you 50% off. I promise. :teeth:

That's one of the things I so love about reading about One Man's Dream. There's so much in there, there's bound to be something new in every TR. Boo on skipping the movie though. ;)
I know, I know. We slapped our own wrists for skipping the movie but I promise we do it every other time!

OH YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! This is seriously unreal. I cannot believe the amount of DISers getting the COWBOY SCENE recently. For so long it was this cruel joke, but NOT ANYMORE!!!! Of course at the end of the day it's not a big departure, but... different is different. :thumbsup2
We loved the cowboy scene! (I mean, my screen name is teekathePONY -- HOW have I gone so long without the cowboy scene??? :rotfl: ) I would guess that it runs once for every 10 gangster scenes because the fire is hard or expensive to keep re-setting. That's my theory anyway!

So glad you had such a nice break. I loved the pictures from your walk, and especially that Oscar followed you!
Thanks Dee! I was thinking during the whole walk; "I have to get some new pictures of Oscar for Dee and Ben!" :goodvibes

I did see this on Facebook and I am so excited for you! The way you presented your lessons to us was very easy to follow- the perfect mix of what to do and WHY!

Wishing you a successful class!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! I worked on the lessons at work today and I think I've got everything ready! :thumbsup2

Good point about Mousetrap.

Cute comic!! :rotfl:

:cool1: for Johnny asking for the cowboy scene. We saw it once and it was awesome. Like you said "Holy Crap, there's fire!"
I'm glad he did. I was just going to take our chances but it was nice to see something different. The fire surprised me! I don't remember reading about that before!

Your pictures on GMR are just spectacular! So clear.
Thanks! They turned out pretty well, it was a good test of my new lens.

Love the light up necklace and scarf.
Aren't they cute? I can't wait to dig them out for this Christmas!

I'm guessing Mama Melrose, too.
Spoiler alert: I wish it were! :rotfl2:

Thanks for offering up your stomach to me! :rotfl: Wish there was a way to work that out! :rotfl2: I'd love to be able to not lose mine on ToT!!!
We could trade periodically. Your next trip you take my iron stomach, my next trip I'll take your love of the ride. :rotfl2:

Yay!!! A HUGE congrats on your class! I'm sure it's going to be great! I know that I have seriously never seen more stunning pictures of Disney than yours so I'm positive it will be a huge success! :goodvibes
Aww, thank you so much! That's so sweet!

Oh my gosh, I am in love with the GMR and love that you included so many pictures of all the scenes. The entrance to that ride is one of those things that I long to see so much in between trips. Yay for the cowboy scene! I need to just request it next time rather than continue to try my luck (read: FAIL!!!) every single time! :rotfl:
I really really like the GMR too, and I'm so glad we asked for the cowboys! The CMs were really good about it too, you should definitely ask next time (my luck wasn't working either!)

Sounds like you had a great family trip to the pond! Your furbabies are too cute!
We did have a great little hike, and thanks! :goodvibes

Congrats on the class and good luck!
Thank you very much!

Thanks! I really love that ride too, and the change of scenery was nice!

I got the light up lights necklace when I went!

Great update!
We saw so many people wearing them, I had to have them too! (Until I saw the scarf! Hahaha)
Thanks!

That's so cool! I love CMs who do the little extras :thumbsup2 It's a pretty cool change of scenery!

What a gorgeous hike! I bet the animals loved it.

It was lovely! And the animals loved it too, (although the kitty got nervous if we were too far from him! :rotfl: )

My theory is that it takes longer (and/or is more expensive) to set up with the fire. Still, it was great to see!
And thanks!

I can't believe Oscar goes hiking with you! What a cool cat. I could always get Max to follow me around, but I'm not sure he would go that far.

Congrats on the camera class. You are going to do a superb job and then you are going to write a book and get it published. I just wish I could come up there to be in your class!

Yes, there really is a Cowboy scene. I have only seen it once and I've never asked for it. I might have to do just that. Love the pics!

I am so happy you finally got to see the Cowboy scene. The funny thing is that I got to see it on my second trip, without asking! We just ended up in the ride vehicle with the Cowboy scene.

Though mom and David thought I was going crazy when our vehicle pulled up, and a family who was standing off to the side seemingly waiting for something got put in the front row of our vehicle. I was so giddy and whispered "I think we're getting the cowboy scene!" and they were both like "huh?":rotfl:

My guess for dinner.... ummmmm right off the top I'd say 50's Prime Time. Could be wrong though. Guess # 2 would be Sci Fi only because I do believe you tried it again on a trip but not sure if it was this one or not.

It is way past my bedtime :faint:

He's so funny. He thinks he's brave until we get more than 10 feet from him, then he cries like an 8 week old kitten. :rotfl2: Johnny had to carry him around the edge of the pond because it was too swampy for his precious little white paws!

Thanks Mary Ellen!! I wish you could come take my class too! I'll offer you the same as I offered Rob - 50% off!! :thumbsup2 Hmmmm publishing a book sounds like a great idea!

I wasn't going to ask, just leave it to chance but with my luck I never would have seen it!

I feel like I haven't talked to you in forever. Let's do that shall we?
Yes, we finally got the cowboys! I remember you telling me that you guys got it, I was so shocked!

You do pay attention, don't you? ;)

It is way past my bedtime :faint:
You have one of those? I thought you just stayed up all night! :rotfl:

We appreciate it!

:goodvibes
:thumbsup2 Oscar demands nothing but the best for his fans. :rotfl2:

Holy crap! There's fire in this version!

IMG_4803 by teekathepony, on Flickr

And mine!

IMG_0833 by teekathepony, on Flickr

That's it! I'm asking for the cowboy scene! Fire is so much better than a gangster sedan making a fake get-away.

I LOVE your light up scarf. If I'd seen those in December I would have bought one. :thumbsup2

"People are being nicer today."

And I considered this for a second. Compared to yesterday, it certainly seemed that way, but then I realized -- it was us!

"No, bud, we're just better rested."

That was the theme of the day summed up right there. We felt great and were anxious to keep going!

ha ha! :lmao: Too funny!

Yay for 5 days off, I'm sure you enjoyed the time.

CONGRATULATIONS on teaching the Photography class!! :cheer2: You'll do great tomorrow!

I just found this TR & your pre-TR for this trip! I'm really enjoying it. I have to tell you that I have 3 cats & 2 of my cats are dopplegangers for your cats!!! I had to show my husband, he was in shock! Also it sounds so cool to live on an island! Do you have to take a ferry to leave it?

Hope you have fun teaching your class today! I know it will be great!

I was sad to see that the local camera store I used to visit frequently went out of business a couple of weeks ago. It was technically a national chain but I think they had less than 10 stores total. I'm going to miss the expertise of their employees whenever I had a question about the purchases I was considering.

The Cowboy scene! Awesome! Believe it or not, I went on the Great Movie Ride for the very first time back in October so I'm just beginning to appreciate the significance of the Cowboy scene. ;)

I'm so glad Johnny asked for it, fire is way better! :lmao:

Thanks! I didn't see them in very many places, in fact I don't remember seeing them at all before or after that. :confused3

Thank you Brenda!! It went really well, I'm so happy about it. I can't wait until the next one!

Our island is pretty close to the "Mainland" Nova Scotia so we've got a bridge. :thumbsup2

Hope you have fun teaching your class today! I know it will be great!
Thanks, Dave! I appreciate your confidence! It did go very well, I was so pleased with it. A little information overload maybe, but all in all, an excellent first crack at it.

It's a shame when that happens. Then you're left with the big box stores and no expertise. It's a tough business for sure! Everyone uses their phone so no one buys cameras, Facebook, not prints, are the preferred way of sharing pictures... it's hard to find ways to adapt enough to stay afloat.

I think I remember that, so now that you know about the cowboy scene you'll be waiting (or asking!) for it!

I hope your class went great today!!! Though I'm positive it did!!! :goodvibes
Thank you so much! It did go really well, I was so pleased with it, especially for our first one!

YAY Wendy!!!! That's so awesome that you're teaching a class! Those are some pretty lucky students. Glad to hear the first one went well!!! Good for you for being able to do something you love :goodvibes

That is one well-behaved cat! I'm fairly certain that if I tried that I'd never see mine again.

I noticed the same problem you did with sitting in the front row of the ride vehicle!

He's a funny little guy. When he's in the house he's all independent and ready to run outside and be free... get him outside and he's Mama's boy ;)

I noticed the same problem you did with sitting in the front row of the ride vehicle!
It wasn't too bad most of the time, just a few scenes I found myself looking backwards. What can ya do? :confused3 :lmao:

I was looking for a good TR to read to get me excited for our upcoming trip, and yours caught my eye! I know I'm jumping in late, but I just wanted to say that you and your DH remind me SO MUCH of me and my DH! Looking forward to reading more :)

I hate feeling ill at WDW. But we do normally take half days at the resort to rest ;)

I'm a big fan of the muppets too ;)

I can't wait to see the movie. I hope it never leaves.

Never seen that light up scarf! I'd have a hard time choosing between the two.
