just figured it out on the "longest 11months" thread. Because of our cancelled cruise it will now take us 35months (yes that's thirty-five) to get "home" to VWL!
We were going to do the cruise this year and stay at WL next year. In fact, I even had it reserved before our cruise was cancelled.
We had to stay (and use our points) at Port Orleans/French Quarter last week as that is the only place Disney could put us for 8 consecutive nights. 2003 we are now booked for the cruise, cancelled the WL. Hopefully, in 2004 we can finally make it "home"!

Sorry to hear that - Hope you enjoy your cruise though!
I couldn't last that long without going to WDW and staying at a DVC resort - only 2 DVC trips under our belt and I can't figure out how we ever survived staying anywhere else!:D

We'll be home for the first time in June 2003.

We are staying at the neighbor's house next week--Beach Club!:p

You could always consider renting some extra points to fit in an additional vacation. I know it's extra cost, but that would keep you from having to go 35 months. Perhaps there's a good deal to be had on the Rent/trade board from a fellow sympathetic DVC member.

And I can qualify Desperado's statement, we're going down tomorrow and it has nothing to do with the points already spent/to be spent next year.
