That was the music that I heard from our balcony at OKW. Not real loud but I could hear it well.

WHAT IS THIS GOING TO SOUND like at SSR?

Did someone mention, extra sound proofing there?

I have ressies at SSR, with waitlist for VLW. I am worried about the noise level.

Y M C A

Now that I have everyone singing this song~~~~
Sorry:wave2: :wave2:

Yes I believe it was. It was late at night. Definately not from OKW. It's not that far away from OKS.

One of the few times we stayed off site was a hotel DTD. Don't remember the name. It was one of the taller buildings. No balcony, just a window that opened a crack. We heard music, pretty loud and it rumbled and vibrated, (for lack of a more descriptive word) very annoying.::yes::

SSR is beautiful. We went on the sneak preview on the 7th.

Hopefully someone will post upon return form SSR on the sound issue. Maybe they will make me less concerned about staying there.
I'm a VWL, OKW gal. quiet time for me please.

I too have occasionally heard music, some of ot pretty loud, from DtD and even private night functions at TL. It really seems to depend on the weather conditions as to how well the sound will carry. Usually it is barely noticeable...but there are times.

BuzzandWoody...did you drive from Atlanta? If so how long did it take to get there? I'm relocating to Stone Mountain.

It takes about 7 1/2 to 8 hours from Atlanta, taking into account only stopping for fast food, etc. If you stop at the Cracker Barrel at some point add some more time. ;)

Lets make the best of the situation...all you need is a wife/husband and two kids, and then you have a Y, M, C, and an A. Thats why the balconies are so big, its one of those, shall we say, hidden amenities!!!!!

We drove down a few weeks ago and actual driving time was 6 hours. Yes 6! On the way back it was different. DD had stomach problems and when she said she needed to go. We STOPPED real quick! Several times! A week at WDW and someone is bound to catch some kind of a bug.

I am not a big fan of DTD, just my personal feeling. Been there done that and it's just too frantic for me. So the noise is a major concern for me.

Hopefully the reports from those there this week will clarify it for us all.

According to DVC rep. at DD last time we visited, SSR units have sound proofed windows. If you are on the balcony, yes, you'll hear things. Inside the room w/windows closed, you shouldn't hear anything.
Hope that helps,
:)
