"It's Coming and it's BLUE" - A July 2010 TR - COMPLETED!!

Kara, your updates are always so entertaining! :rotfl: I was cracking up over your brilliant description of the mad dash to TSMM... SO true!!! I hope you had a great Christmas and a wonderful start to 2011!

OH MY GOSH. YES. WHERE IS EVERYONE? I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering *I* haven't been on in a week, but wow, it's quiet in here. Do I smell weird or something and you're all not telling me? Do I have something in my teeth? Now I'm going to be all self-conscious...

AH! The "It's all waiting for you today at [Insert Park Here]" voice over makes my life. It's just so exciting! I need to become more technologically proficient so that I can figure out how to set that as my alarm. It would make waking up in the morning so much happier.

Yeah, we definitely should have said something about the whole bus incident. It's really weird that we didn't. I mean, my mom is lawyer! You'd think she would have been all over it. But, like, we didn't really realize the extent of my injury until later and by then, we were all just kind of over it. I wasn't in mortal peril, so it was easier to just forget about it and try to enjoy the rest of the vacation. But if something like that ever happens again (which I'm praying it won't) we'll definitely say something.

I may be Forever Alone, but I get to ride TSM multiple times so I really could not care less.
So true. Being Forever Alone has it's advantages. I don't understand how/why people drag their kids into that mess. Do they get some sort of pleasure out of watching their child get trampled? Seriously. Send someone to get FPs and keep your kid out of the mayhem.

I hate when people let a little unexpected wait ruin their day too. Last summer, Pirates of the Caribbean broke down while we were waiting in the loading area. The people around me were mad. Like, you'd think that someone just simultaneously stole all of their money, burnt their house down, and kicked their puppy with the way people were reacting. I just laughed because, OF COURSE we would be the next people to board and then it would break down. That's the kind of luck my family has. I have this theory that everyone from Cleveland is cursed. I would elaborate, but it would take a while.

Everwood was sooooooo good. Oh my gosh. I really don't ever think I will be able to get over it's cancellation. I have never been that upset about anything in my entire life. Thinking about it still makes me rage. And I feel your OC pain. I was upset when that got canceled too. I have so many fun "Watching The OC" memories. My family would always try to talk to me during the show and I would freak out at them and be like "SHUT UP. SHUT UP. SHUT UP. SHUT UP. CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT SETH COHEN IS ON MY TV SCREEN RIGHT NOW?" And then once the episode was over, I'd run to the computer so that my BFF and I could discuss what happened over AIM. Why we didn't just call each other, I will never know. And I remember just crying for like an hour after the Seth/Summer Spiderman kiss in The Rainy Day Women. It was so beautiful and happy and wonderful and OMG. I miss that show! Why did Fox have to take it away? Why? Why did all of the good shows from that era get canceled, but the sucky ones are still on? One Tree Hill, I'm looking at you.

1. You smell amazing. Is that peony?

2. Oh my GOD yes. That would be amazing. Or my cell phone ringer. I need to somehow do that, like have that spiel or the monorail one. Or maybe the one that plays when a ride breaks down, just to REALLY confuse people.

3. I totally know what you mean. When something that would normally annoy me happens at Disney World, I don't even care. I mean I think unless I was dying I would have just ignored it too. It's impossible for me to get mad there so I usually just drop any issue.

4. I actually love being Forever Alone b/c it means I don't have to deal with anyone's BS. Every time a friend calls me angry and/or crying/losing their minds over a guy/girl i'm like HAHA!!!!!!!!!! and then I remember that I am probably going to need to get that Life Alert thing in my house when i'm like 25. Again...like Liz Lemon.

5. Cleveland gets Floyd's love though!! Why does everything come down to 30 Rock? What is my life?

6. The Rainy Day Women is my favorite episode. The only thing that would have made it even more perfect would have been if Ryan & Marissa were together at the time, but all the Sandy/Kirsten and Seth/Summer stuff was enough. When she sees that little boy playing with the horse at the airport.. oh my god I am about to cry just thinking about it. This is why I have the OC on a constant loop in my life. I need it.

OMG UPDATE THIS THING!! I'm updating mine now woooooooohoooooo!!

HEY HOWDY HEY, Friends! I hope you are all having an excellent start to 2011. Or as Jimmy Fallon dubbed it, "The 0-1-1", which I am totally going to start using. I started classes again this week, so I've been kinda busy, but it's shaping up to be a good quarter. All of my classes are interesting so far, THANK GOD. Anyway, I'm gonna respond to all of your comments and then I have the next update ready to post! :woohoo:

Hey Kara! I'm still here and just as busy as you are I'm sure at this time of year. Your updates are always amazing and hilarious. "A live chicken" :rotfl2: Love it! Anyways, keep up the wonderful updates :thumbsup2
THANKS, GIRL! :goodvibes

Yeah, I kinda figured that everyone would be super busy at this time of year. For whatever reason, winter is, like, the busiest season. Even after the holidays, I'm still running around like a chicken with my head cut off. It's crazy.
I'm still here-been sitting here a long time-my kids may need to dust me soon as the cobwebs are starting to form.....:surfweb:
 For your sake, I just hope there aren't any spiders living in those cobwebs.
Hey girl, I'm still here! :) Just been really busy! I am sorta behind on everyone's TR but I'm going to get caught up now!

The TSM stampede is probably the craziest out of all the parks. People are running toward that ride like there is thousands of dollars waiting for them at the entrance. I loved your queue pics. I still haven't gone on the stand-by line yet, it's always been the FP line. Last month I wasn't able to ride TSM because we went to MGM on our arrival day so by the time we got there all the FPs were gone and the line was over an hour long :( It was weird not riding TSM, I was so sad!
I'm so behind on everyone else's TRs too! I really need to dedicate a weekend to catching up on everything.

That is sad about not being able to ride TSM. But I don't blame you for not wanting to wait over an hour. No ride is worth that long of a wait, unless you have absolutely nothing else to be doing. LOL.
Kara, your updates are always so entertaining! :rotfl: I was cracking up over your brilliant description of the mad dash to TSMM... SO true!!! I hope you had a great Christmas and a wonderful start to 2011!
THANKS! :upsidedow Glad to know I'm entertaining someone. LOL.

OHMYGOSH. It IS peony! Thank you for noticing! ;)

Good call on the Life Alert. I should probably look into that.

Everything always comes down to 30 Rock because Tina Fey is a GENIUS. She captures this special breed of Liz Lemon-like women so perfectly. She gave us awkward, Forever Alone, career-driven, word maker-upers a woman who represents us, and it's spectacular. I mean, we aren't all Carrie Bradshaws. Some of us just like to eat cheese puffs and shop at the Container Store. There's nothing wrong with that.

OMG. THE LITTLE BOY WITH THE HORSE! That kills me every time.

JULY 25TH PART TWO: Townsperson #7?
After I beat Dad on Toy Story Mania, we headed over to Starring Rolls to meet up with Mom and Katie and grab some breakfast. The Mickey Rice Crispy Treat I inhaled earlier wasn’t cutting it.

I had a delicious – and very messy – cherry turnover with a bottle of chocolate milk. I can never resist a bottle of chocolate milk. I’m 4.
356.jpg

I don’t remember what everyone else had and I didn’t take pictures, but if I had to guess, I think that’s the edge of some sort of danish that you can see in the turnover picture. So someone had a danish. Probably Dad. He’s a big danish fan. But yeah, everything at Starring Rolls is yummy, so does it really matter what they got?

After we ate, it was time to head back over to TSM to ride again with our FPs. On the way, I took this picture of a Great Movie Ride banner I had never really noticed before.
357.jpg

As you all know, Toy Story FPs are gone fast. Insanely fast. Like, I’m surprised the machines don’t start spewing out smoke from overuse in such a short period of time. Here are the return times at 10:30 AM.
360.jpg

Yikes. We grabbed a few so that we could ride before our Sci-Fi reservations that night and then headed into the queue.

Here are Mom and Katie wearing their 3D glasses.
361.jpg

Because I didn’t take any queue pictures this time, I guess I’ll use this opportunity to go on and on about how much I love the music they play in the queue and during the ride. It’s the songs from the movies, so it’s not an original score or anything, but it’s so much fun to listen to. Everything’s sped up a bit and it’s super cheery and wonderful. It always puts some extra pep in my step as we gallivant on by the people in the stand-by line. Sucks to be you!

When we reached the stripe-y tent part of the queue, we were assaulted with yet another horrible disgusting smell. We were not having very good luck in the unpleasant smell department this trip. And the worst part is that it always feels like it takes forever to get through that part of the queue. I mean, I always feel like I’m standing on those steps for years. So having to smell someone’s grossness made it feel even longer. Ugh. But my mom never fails to make me laugh hysterically in unpleasant situations, so thank god she was there to keep me entertained.

I’m really proud to say that on this TSM ride, I got my highest score ever! Woooo! And more importantly, I beat Dad twice in one day! It was such a historical moment within our family. Like, seriously, they should have been playing the Star Spangled Banner while awarding me a medal or something while everyone cried tears of OMG KARA IS OUR HERO. July 25th will always be known as the day Dad got beat…twice.
362.jpg

I don’t remember exactly what Dad’s score was (the other score in the above picture was Mom’s) but he claimed he didn’t do so well because his gun was malfunctioning. Excuses, excuses. (I will never admit this to him, but I fully believe that his gun was malfunctioning. I had issues with the pull-string on mine later that day.)

Oh, and the best part of the story is that I did it all while sporting some insanely wonky 3D glasses. They were terrible. One of the lenses was only half covering my eye so I had a thick line impeding my vision. I have no idea how I kept them on the entire time. Wearing 3D glasses over my regular glasses is already annoying. How I survived the ride without pulling those suckers off and just putting up with the blurriness of the screens is beyond me. But ultimately those things just made my triumph all the more spectacular, so yay for wonky glasses!

After that historic moment, we decided that the best possible way to celebrate would be to watch amateur talent butcher classic songs, so we quickly headed over to the American Idol Experience for the 11:00 show.
364.jpg

We got there right as people were moving everyone into the theater, so we just joined the herd and headed inside. Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music” or whatever that song is called started playing as soon as we sat down. Thank god. I was terrified we would miss my favorite part of the show, the warm up! I know most people find it lame/intolerable/stupid/pointless/etc. but I’m easily amused. The warm-up people are always funny and I’m a sucker for audience participation. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy fist pumping along with some Rihanna every now and again?

Two questions: Now that Simon’s gone, do you think they’ll replace the Simon-like judge with a Steven Tyler-esque faux rock star? If so, does that mean we’re going to get some American Idol Experience/Rock ‘n Roller Coaster cross promotion? Secondly, will they play Aerosmith songs during the pre-show? I hope so. I’m of the firm belief that one can never have too much Aerosmith. Except for “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing”. That song needs to be banned from Idol. Someone sings it Every. Single. Year. And it’s never good.
Anyway, a teenager from Pennsylvania ended up winging. She sang The Climb because if you’re a teenage girl, you either sing The Climb or that song that back-up dancer punching Demi Lovato sings in Camp Rock. That’s like the number one rule of the American Idol Experience. Just once I’d love to see a teenager get up there and sing something that isn’t one of those two songs.

I’d love to ban those songs simply because they always get stuck in my head. I always wind up walking out of the theater belting out AIN’T ABOUT HOW FAST I GET THERE. AIN’T ABOUT WHAT’S WAITING ON THE OTHER SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE and I’m sick of it. Let’s all just be thankful that “Party in the USA” isn’t on the list. Let’s also be thankful that auditions for the show are done early in the day. I have this horrible feeling that after a few drinks, I would wind up on that stage “noddin’ my head like yeah, movin’ my hips like yeah,” slutting it up Miley-style, and getting banned from Disney for life. Oh, Miley. Thank god for you and your salvia-smoking self. My friends and I had a sick obsession with “See You Again”. Literally, for weeks, anytime we were driving somewhere, we’d blast that song and have a sing-a-long. THE LAST TIME I FREAKED OUT. I JUST KEPT LOOKING DOWN. I ST-ST-STUTTERED WHEN YOU ASKED ME WHAT I’M THINKIN’ ‘BOUT. FELT LIKE I COULDN’T BREATHE. YOU ASKED WHAT’S WRONG WITH ME. MY BEST FRIEND LESLIE SAID ‘OH, SHE’S JUST BEIN’ MILEY’.

Ok, I’ll stop. I’m pretty sure I can already hear your groaning through the computer. LOL.

For research’s sake, I just googled the song list and OMG. “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” is on it. I am totally trying out next year. That song is my jam. THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A WOMAN IS THE PREROGATIVE TO HAVE A LITTLE FUN.

Moving on…

After the show, Dad took this picture of me being stupid and posing like the giant Emmy.
365.jpg

It’s especially fitting considering I had the GREATEST IDEA EVER for a sitcom the other day and I’m definitely gonna win an Emmy for it someday.

At this point, Katie was hungry again, so we headed over to the Backlot Express so she could eat.
367.jpg

She got her usual – chicken fingers (or I guess they’re nuggets now) and fries. The rest of us weren’t hungry yet, so we just hung out while she ate. I remember us, at one point, having a conversation about lip size and ability to hum. Katie can’t hum well and she says it’s because she has really small lips. Which she does. But really, you can’t hum? That’s so weird. So I was trying to teach her how. Y’know that thing Sharpay does in the High School Musical movies (Yes, I watch High School Musical. Don’t judge) to warm up? Where she’s basically doing trills with her mouth? Well, I was doing that. Loudly. I’m pretty sure people were staring. But whatever, I was trying to teach Katie how to properly move her lips. It didn’t work. She can’t do it. But it was fun watching her try. LOL.

After Katie finished eating, we split up again. Dad and Katie headed off to ride Rock ‘n Roller Coaster and Mom and I went to the Magic of Disney Animation to get our artist on.

I love Mickey with the slate (is that what it’s called?) thing-y in the logo.
372.jpg

373.jpg

Before heading into the Animation building, we made a quick little detour and stopped in the toy store to the left of the entrance because I wanted to look at all of the Toy Story merch. I was ridiculously excited to see that these were for sale…
374.jpg

Ken and Barbie! I think I’ve said this before, but I would totally watch a movie starring those two. Ken was absolutely hilarious. I think I’ve watched the clip of him modeling all of his different outfits for Barbie while “Le Freak” plays in the background at least 100 times on Youtube. It was such a great scene.

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST~

Because we didn’t feel like waiting for the movie about animation, we headed right in through the Meet the Characters line or whatever it’s called. The movie is cute, but once you’ve seen it once, you don’t really need to see it again. Plus, I learned all I need to know about animation from Joey in the Disney episode of Full House.

Our first stop was the Animation Academy.
375.jpg

A session had just started, so we had to wait a little bit, but it wasn’t bad. We were in the air conditioning and out of the sun. That’s what I like about MGM. You’re almost never outside. And like I said before, Mom’s really good at keeping me entertained.

Once it was finally our turn, we all headed in. Mom and I took seats near the back. It’s a habit. LOL. I hate sitting in the front of a classroom.

Here’s my drawing area…
376.jpg

Our animator, whose name I can’t remember so we’re just going to call Annie because I like alliteration, was quite an interesting character. She was kind of timid, which I thought was weird because you’d think they’d want overly enthusiastic people working a job like this. Instead of just telling us which character we were going to draw, Animator Annie wanted us to pick. She kept naming characters and gauging audience reaction. Unfortunately for Animator Annie, the audience wasn’t overly enthusiastic either. Animator Annie would name a character and be all “Tigger?” and then everyone would just kind of mumble a response that you couldn’t really distinguish as either affirmative or negative. So she’d name another character. And then another. And another. I swear to god we were on Townsperson #7 from Beauty and the Beast before Mom and I looked at each other because we couldn’t take it anymore. Whichever character Animator Annie named next, we were going to demand to draw, no matter who it was. So when Animator Annie timidly said the next character’s name, Mom and I jumped out of our seats, flailed our arms in the air, rolled around on the floor, did the Macarena, and LOUDLY said “Let’s do that one”. Luckily for us, Animator Annie had named Jiminy Cricket! Mom loves Jiminy Cricket.

So we started drawing. Animator Annie, though shy, was a very good artist. She was also really good at explaining things. Even without watching her draw, I probably would have been able to replicate the drawing based on her descriptions. So I got my answer as to why they hired her. She was shy, but she was good.

Here are our final products as photographed on the beds at the Polynesian…
406.jpg

That one’s mine (hence the giant Kara) and here’s Mom’s…
407.jpg

After our Animation session, we headed back out so that I could get my picture taken with some of the characters.

Here’s me with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible…
377.jpg

This picture is sooooo awkward. Mr. Incredible told…err gestured for…me to pose like this, so I did, but then Mom took the picture before he did the matching pose. So I just look weird.

Next up, we headed down to get in line to meet the one character I had been dying to get my picture taken with…LOTSO! Sure, he’s completely and totally 100% evil, but he is so darn cute. And he smells like strawberries. Literally. They pump the scent of strawberries into his meet and great area.

The queue is designed to look like Sunnyside. It was so cute. I probably annoyed everyone in there with my constant AWWWWWWWs and OMGs.
378.jpg

379.jpg

I fell in love with these drawings of the Toy Story characters. I wonder if little kids actually drew them. Part of me figured that some awesome artist dumbed himself down and did them. But I guess Disney might have gotten some actual kids to do the art. At least, I hope that they did. It would be such a nice touch.

381.jpg

MR. PRICKLEPANTS!
382.jpg

My girl, Jessie! Santa brought me a pose-able Jessie figurine for me to put on my Disney bookcase. It’s awesome. And again, I’m 4.

When it was finally time for me to meet Lotso, I freaked out a little. I might have squealed. I was really excited, ok? He pulled me into a big hug and I fell in love. Woody and Co. didn’t actually die in the incinerator so I guess I can forgive Lotso for all that he did. Plus, he had some pretty deep psychological issues. I mean, the poor guy was abandoned and then replaced! That had to suck.

Anyway, here’s the picture…
384.jpg

As we were leaving, I checked my phone and noticed that I had a text from Katie. She and Dad had already gone back to the Polynesian to swim, so Mom and I decided we might as well head out also.

But first, we stopped in the Animation gift shop. I love looking at Disney art. I came close to buying a Mad Tea Party ride poster, like, I had the poster in my hand and was about to buy it, but then I noticed these suckers and wound up buying one instead. It now resides on the Disney bookcase I mentioned before.
404.jpg

I got sidetracked by shopping again while walking down Hollywood Blvd. But first, let’s just admire the architecture. It’s all so fabulous!
387.jpg

388.jpg

In here, I bought the most wonderful t-shirt ever….
405.jpg

Mickey walking down Main Street USA. LOVE IT. OMG.

We also headed across the street to look at all of the Disney-themed kitchen stuff. I wasn’t going to let myself leave WDW without buying something to use in my kitchen in my house at school. I didn’t buy anything on this particular day, but I did wind up buying some pretty awesome stuff that you’ll see later on in the report.
389.jpg

With that, we headed out to the bus stop.
392.jpg

Before long, we were kicking back in a wonderfully air conditioned, purple seated, bus, headed back to our tropical paradise.

Upon entering the GCH, we were once again greeted with leis. We already had like 50 hanging in our room, but how can you turn the sweet CMs down? Plus, being lei’d is fun!

Since we hadn’t eaten yet, Mom and I decided to grab some lunch from Captain Cook’s. Mom went to order while I ran over to our room to grab the refillable mugs.

Of course, I took some pictures along the way.
396.jpg

397.jpg

398.jpg

When I got back to our room, this awesome sea turtle was waiting on the bed. Our Mousekeeper was so sweet.
188.jpg

Mom and I ended up bringing our lunch back to our room. Captain Cook’s was kinda crazy and we wanted some peace and quiet. Which always reminds me of the episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8 when Alexis adorably tells Kate about how much she likes peace and quiet. I love those kids.

Here’s a picture of my turkey club and the heavenly chips that taste like the most delicious thing you could ever possibly imagine.
402.jpg

Here’s Mom’s pizza…
403.jpg

After eating, I curled up in bed and took a nap. I definitely needed one after
the early morning and the Toy Story hysteria. Plus, my arm was still sore from the stupid pull-strings. I have zero arm strength. I should probably try to work on that.

UP NEXT: Our evening at MGM, including my first ever meal at Sci-Fi! :yay:

1. Starring Rolls is SO EPIC. One day I want to buy every cupcake they make and completely ruin my digestive system while, simultaneously, gaining the most weight a person ever has in one sitting. Here I come, Guinness Book of World Records!

2. I didn't notice that banner until recently, too! I was all excited about it. Anytime my obsessed self can notice something new-to-me, it's so fun.

3. I love that you still kicked butt wearing the wonky glasses!! You go girl!!

4. The American Idol Experience sounds like a nightmare.

5. I actually like Miley now that she is smoking Salvia and wearing shorter and shorter shorts. I never really liked her songs (though when Hannah Montana first debuted on the Disney Channel, I was AT Disney World and so I was in that fun Disney mood and was like I LOVE THIS SHOW OMG) until Can't Be Tamed came out which I LOVE. Anytime me and my one friend do anything that's even slightly out there, one of us yells "Can't be TAMED!!!!!!!" It's sad, really.

6. SHANIA TWAIN!!! I would so try out with that song.

7. Oh my God, I am super cool and work on film/tv sets so I can tell you all us cool show business people call that thing Mickey is holding a CLAPPER. *bows*

8. I can't even tell you what my problem is but I am obsessed with buying useless Toy Story things now. Everything I see with Toy Story on it, I'm like I NEED THIS. I even have a Toy Story rubix cube like thing and it's FABULOUS.

9. THE FULL HOUSE DISNEY WORLD EPISODE IS SO AMAAAAAAAZINGGGGG!!!!! My mom taped it for me during it's first airing and I still watch the tape often. I believe we discussed this before but IF ONLY John Stamos would play me a song in the middle of the Grand Floridian.....sigh....

10. Your Jiminy picture is so great! I may have many fab talents, but drawing is not one of them. I can't even tell you how much people who can draw fascinate me. I am DEFINITELY taking this class next time we go to WDW because I want to see if I can make something that even slightly resembles what they're teaching.

11. I'm still angry at Lotso so I don't think I'm emotionally ready to be photographed with him but I commend you. And yes those drawings are so cute!

12. I LOVE that teacup! And when I have my own place my kitchen and bathroom is going to be PLANET DISNEY. I hope whoever I live with likes pixie dust. Not that I will have to worry about that b/c of the Forever Alone thing but if I can actually con someone into marrying me, he is going to need to like pixie dust.

13. Your pics of MGM and the Poly are sooo putting me IN THE MOOD right now. Oh man. DISNEY!!! AND YOU ARE RIGHT, THAT SHIRT IS AMAZING.
14. Oh man. Oh man. I COULD REEEALLy go for a Grilled Cheese and chips from Captain Cook's. Someone put me out of my misery!!!

15. SO EXCITED FOR SCI FI WOOOO HOO!!!
Whew. That was long. And I didn't even comment on everything I wanted to. hahaha, we are just twins. Period. The day we are at Disney together will be glorious, for real.

I am SO enjoying your updates. Amazing score on TSM :worship: Must have been the glasses :3dglasses

I never tried those chips before. Sounds like I'm missing out! I love Captain Cooks, especially for a late night Dole Whip.

I don't know why I never commented on your TSM update, but loved it! :thumbsup2 I'm so glad I finally know what the hype is all about now that I finally got to ride it in November!

Love the most recent update too! I can't remember everything I wanted to comment on, there's too much!

I have never bothered with the AI show, I'm not a huge fan of the show so I don't really feel like watching people on their vacations pretend to be on AI. And I hate Rihanna. I do, however, like Miley, how can you not? If I could sing even a little, I'd probably annoy everyone and try out singing "The Climb" since "Party in the USA" isn't available. :rotfl:

And I cannot believe Steven Tyler is a judge on that show. Really? Ughhhhh...:confused3

I can't believe I have never seen the TS3 Ken and Barbie! They're so cute!

LOL, I almost forgot about that whole thing on the Disney Full House episode with Joey and the animation...I have to watch that soon, I have it on my DVR and I never watch it! I was always so jealous of them, staying at the Grand Floridian.

I love the little area they have Lotso in, and how it looks like Sunnyside! I hated him so much in that movie, but I love him at MGM, he's so cute! I didn't get to meet him, the line was too long, but I just stood there and watched him meeting people for awhile, like some creepy Lotso stalker. :)

I LOVE the architecture at MGM! I love everything about MGM...I remember discussing this with you on your PTR and my first TR! :rotfl: But I love it! You got some great pictures! :thumbsup2

I'll shut up now, since I just wrote you a book, practically! :rotfl:

1. I've never actually eaten any of the Starring Rolls cupcakes. I need to though. The White Chocolate cupcake looks like heaven. :cloud9:

4. The thing about the American Idol Experience is that it can go either way. It can be a nightmare, or you could wind up being lucky and seeing some really talented people perform. This particular show was kind of a dud, but two summers ago, I got to see this one girl (who was our age) perform who legitimately could have a career in the music industry. She was REALLY good. My whole family was impressed. And it takes a lot to impress my dad. LOL. So I don't know. Like, it's fun for the snark-factor and then once in a while you actually end up seeing someone legitimately talented perform. Plus, I have quite the soft spot for Idol. I've watched every season of that 5-months-of-my-life-wasting suckfest. I really need to stop watching, but I. Just. Can't.

...Although, this season it's going to be on at the same time as the Vampire Diaries, so peace, Idol. It's been real. Kinda.

6. Shania Twain is the best. My friends and I watched Crossroads on New Year's Day, and ever since the scene where the girls sing "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" in the car, I haven't been able to get it out of my head. God, that movie is amazing.

7. Thank you, my dear showbiz friend! :thumbsup2

10. Thanks! It would have been even better IF I WAS ALLOWED TO USE AN ERASER. I'm such a perfectionist, so I hate that. I love drawing and well, art in general. My mom initially went to college to major in art (before she switched to law) so she's passed her love (and talent ;)) down to me over the years.

13. Last night, I had a dream that I lived right next door to the Polynesian, so I walked over there to study all the time. Then, I woke up this morning and was like, "Hey! I think I'll walk over to the Poly to write this paper today...Oh..." It was so depressing. WHY DO I NOT LIVE AT WDW?

15. I'm so excited to write about Sci-Fi! My roommates and I were watching Grease last night and during the drive-in scene, I couldn't stop babbling about how amazing Sci-Fi is. Like, they could care less, but I just kept going and going about how IT FEELS LIKE A REAL DRIVE-IN! IT'S ALL DARK AND THERE ARE STARS AND MILKSHAKES AND WAITERS ON ROLLERSKATES AND THE CARS HAVE LICENSE PLATES AND WE SAT IN A PINK CAR AND OMG.

I have a problem. LOL.

I am SO enjoying your updates. Amazing score on TSM :worship: Must have been the glasses :3dglasses

I never tried those chips before. Sounds like I'm missing out! I love Captain Cooks, especially for a late night Dole Whip.
Thanks, girl!

OMG. YOU NEED TO TRY THE CHIPS. NEED TO. ASAP. THEY ARE DELICIOUS.

:rotfl:
Girl, I feel terrible that I haven't checked out your new TR yet. I need to get on that! I'm really glad you FINALLY got to ride Toy Story Mania. :thumbsup2

Yeah, the whole Steven Tyler is an AI judge is weird to me too. I LOVE Aerosmith, so I'm sad that kids today are going to see him as Idol Judge Steven Tyler not Aerosmith Frontman Steven Tyler.

I need to record the Disney Full House episode the next time it airs so that I can watch it whenever I want. Even though I've seen it so many times that I can pretty much go through the entire thing in my head without having to watch it, I still need to watch it again. I love that episode.

HAHAHA Now I have the image of you hiding behind poles/walls/etc stalking Lotso in my head.

I remember our "Everything about MGM is awesome" conversation too. I love that there's someone who appreciates the MGM architecture as much as I do!

Keep on writing books, girl! I love long comments! :upsidedow

Great update Kara! I have GOT to take that animation class! That has been on my to do list for a few trips now but we never seem to be spending enough time in MGM for that! BTW, love the hipster! I have the exact same one but I was worried it would clash with my colorful Old Navy tanks so I bought another one a little less loud, Imperial Tole, that I wore on my trip. Those bags are the best for WDW, right?

I loved the Sunnyside area too! So cute! I hugged Lotso for our picture too! BTW, his head is NOT soft! I learned that the hard way...haha, "hard" way...get it.

I can't get enough of your MGM updates! Aww your picture with Lotso is so cute! I'd totally hug him too even though I didn't like him in the movie.

Seeing palm trees and people in shorts just makes me *sigh* It's been freezing here. I wouldn't mind being at the Poly beach right now sipping a lapu lapu! :)

Definitely take the animation class...It's a lot of fun!

Hipsters are totally the best bags for WDW. They're the perfect size and they aren't, like, flimsy so you don't have to worry about ruining them.

I laughed at your "hard" way joke. I'm easy like that. :rotfl:

Oh my gosh, I know! It's freezing here too. What I wouldn't give to be wearing a pair of shorts and flip flops right now...Why didn't I go to a college down south? I had my chance to escape Midwest winters and I didn't take advantage of it. Stupid me.

Oh, Idol. I watched Season 1 and LOVED IT, and then I completely lost interest until the God-like being Adam Lambert shimmied his way onto my TV, leaving trails of glitter along the way. But I know we have discussed this and the epic love that is Kradam, so I digress. I tried watching last year b/c I love Ellen but I couldn't go on. I will try watching again this year b/c of my undying love for Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, but I imagine I will still have a hard time. And no way in hell will I miss Vampire Diaries for that ish either. I can't imagine missing Vampire Diaries for anything though, including my own funeral or wedding.

CROSSROADS IS AMAZING. djslfds. I still remember going to see it opening day and bowing down to The Legendary Miss Britney Spears. I mean I don't think it's the best movie ever, but it's a good girly teen movie, like Bring It On or something. That's a bad comparison, but you know what I mean. And speaking of Brit, I assume you have Hold It Against Me on repeat? I CAN NOT GET ENOUGH. Well actually I can, I mean it's no SLAVE or anything. But I love it.

Another weird thing we have in common... my mom ALSO is an awesome artist. She can draw ANYTHING. I can't draw a straight line. Sigh.

I hate when you have a flawless dream and then you wake up in your VERY FLAWED life and you're just like, kill me now.

Ahhh omg Sci Fi DOES feel so real, that is why I love it so much. It's not like you have to stretch your imagination to feel like you're really there. It so reminds me of Grease, especially when they have the snack bar cartoons on..sigh. Please God get me there this April!! I can't wait to read about your experience there. (:

I too think an artist dumbed himself down and drew the little kid Toy Story Mania pictures. Somehow they are perfectly imperfect. If a kid were to draw them, the picture might be imperfectly imperfect. Does that makes sense? Oh well. It does to me!

Okay girl, I am finally back to get caught up!! :yay:

Looks like you had such a good day at MGM. Yes, I will always be MGM for me too. :goodvibes

Wow, I don't think I've ever noticed that banner outside the GMR either! I'll have to look for it next time. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes, the AIE! I could do this all day. I wish they would just let me sit in the theater all day..maybe I'll hide in the back so I don't have to go out and get back in line.

Okay great, now I have "The Climb" in my head. :upsidedow I admit, I am a bit of a Miley fan. Shhhhhhh!

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can meet Lotso..that creepy smile when I know he's really mean!

I love that tea cup! I wish I would have seen that last time I was at Hollywood Studios. I'm totally jealous! I also really like the Mickey on Main St. tshirt so I'm extra jealous. I have to add Captain Cook's to my list of things to do next time because those chips look amazing.

Ok Kara, get ready for a SUPER LONG reply. I've waited a while to be able to do this with the school's internet. Ok, HERE GOES!

I really liked calling it MGM. I've only been to WDW twice, so I got them both! It was MGM back in 2006. It changed in 2007, right?

I really loved the Disney buses too! Of course, as a student, you take the bus a lot anyways. But the Disney buses had more comfy seats and more stuff to hold onto and just more space overall.

Woooah, what a story! And it totally sucks that the driver didn't even do anything to make sure you guys were all right! What a terrible driver!!!

Owww......it sucks you weren't even able to eat anything. It's too bad you didn't speak up at least a little about it. I know what you mean about people that complain about the littlest thing and expect compensation. My mom is one of those people actually.....when we go buy things and she sees the slightest little thread coming from a shirt, she'll ask for a discount at the cashier.....It's very embarassing.

I know what you mean about the shared experience! We had some interesting experiences of our own on the buses.....I just love seeing all those kids so excited early in the morning, or the ones talking about their day when we come back from the parks, hugging their new plush.

Yes, I totally agree with you about the blue dye. We should take a chemistry kit into the parks and do experiments.

TSM was down on my last so I didn't get to experience that rush. I'm pretty sure it's the same rush at Soarin' though.

What are bambinos?

Hahaha, I can't believe people actually said that stuff! Must have been CRAZY.

Wooooooooooow, I can't wait to go on TSM! Heck, I think I want to see the queue more than I want to play the game! I suck at games like that. Give me a mouse and ASWD on a keyboard and I can really take down some zombies. But using shooters like that, I suck.

Man, I can't believe people can be so inconsiderate at a theme park like that. Sure, they must be stressed cause people are yelling at them, but they can easily move to the machine that is designated for them. It's not like they can't get any more FPs if they switch machines.

Wow, a 30 min entrance even after the mad rush and the FPs! Awesome!

90's music was awesome. They defined our childhood. S Club 7, BSB, Spice Girls, N'SYNC. Ahhh, the era of the North American bands. They should totally bring them back. Justin Beiber proves that having only ONE boy to crush over can lead to devastating effects.

Of course they put that K there just for you! It is YOUR trip after all!

Um....your foot is pointed at a map they have on the wall, right? I've never seen it so I really have no idea what you're talking about.

Damn, if those pictures were done by children, then they can do so much better than I can!

Part two

Mmmm, Starring Rolls. I love their sandwiches. All nice and cool on a hot summer day.

Oh, that's such a nice banner they have up!

Aw man....I can't even relate to the music you hear.....

I know what you mean about bad smells. When it comes to watching Disney movies, I always watch them on the day they come out, or at least the weekend of. For some reason, every time I'm at a first showing, I'm ALWAYS seated next to the guy that hasn't showered for a month. Or in front of, or right behind. What is up with that???? What's worst is that the smell is always mixed in with the popcorn smell......*gag*

3D glasses were the reason I started to wear contacts! I'm so tired of the way they DON'T fit over regular glasses. It's been years since they came out with these things, you would've thought they would already have designed 3D glasses for EVERYONE by now!

Darn it. Before I read the part about seeing a "teeanger", I was so ready to get on AIE and choose a song that isn't one of those and dedicate it to you. But still, one day, I wanna try out for this thing. See how far I can go.

OH great, The Climb is stuck in my head now. I've never heard "See you again" though.

Humming isn't something you need your lips for. I learned in singing class that you hum with your throat. I can hum with my mouth open and my lips never touching. Yes, it's weird to watch, but it's possible!

And omg yes I WATCH HSM TOO! I love Ashley Tisdale. I have posters of her in my room.

Haha, I've asked Andrew to do the same thing for me as what Ken did! I can't remember where we were or why I asked him.....Unfortunately, he declined.

I really wanted to go to AA on my last trip but was just unable to. I thought they asked the class for suggestions all the time. And they just vote on the suggestions given.

I love your signature!

Hahaha, that's not an awkward photo of you at all!!!

You have a Disney bookcase????? I'm green with envy over here.

I actually want a Lotso bear, just because he smells like strawberries. And he's so huggable!!

That teacup is adorable! And that shirt is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice. LOVE it.

I thought they only gave leis to people getting off a bus or have luggage with them. Still very sweet though. I have fake leis in my room.

MMM, those chips look so yummy.

Hey guys! Sorry it took so long for me to respond to your comments. I was busy with school and then I caught some sort of cold/flu/illness. It's not fun. I had a fever, ridiculous chills, and I slept A LOT. But I'm starting to feel better, minus the barking cough I've developed. It hurts to cough and it sucks! I hate being sick!

Oh, Idol. I watched Season 1 and LOVED IT, and then I completely lost interest until the God-like being Adam Lambert shimmied his way onto my TV, leaving trails of glitter along the way. Crossroads is a fabulous movie. I had actually never seen it, but it was on one of the movie channels not too long ago and I was like OMG. NEED TO RECORD. I love fun, cheesy, girlie movies. Especially one that includes music from my favorite Britney era. Her "Britney" album is the best. You already mentioned the greatest Britney song - I'm a Slave 4 U - and then there's Overprotected, Boys, Cinderella, and her cover of I Love Rock 'n' Roll...it's just the best. And, of course, I had Hold it Against Me on repeat for a good day or so. It's a great song.

Of course
your mom is an awesome artist. We have the most random things in common. It's almost ridiculous. LOL.

I'm so excited to sit down and write about Sci-Fi. I think I'm gonna do that right now. It'll be nice to pretend I'm back at Sci-Fi drinking delicious milkshakes and watching cheesy movies instead of sitting here coughing every 3 seconds.
I too think an artist dumbed himself down and drew the little kid Toy Story Mania pictures. Somehow they are perfectly imperfect. If a kid were to draw them, the picture might be imperfectly imperfect. Does that makes sense? Oh well. It does to me!

I love that there's a whole group of us that are never going to stop calling it MGM. Our kids are going to be so confused someday.

You should totally just hide in the back. If someone says something, just be like "Oh, I was looking for my contact." LOL.

I know, Lotso is really evil, but I just couldn't not meet him. He's pink and he smells like strawberries. I'm a sucker for things that are pink and smell like strawberries.
I love that tea cup! I wish I would have seen that last time I was at Hollywood Studios. I'm totally jealous! I also really like the Mickey on Main St. tshirt so I'm extra jealous. I have to add Captain Cook's to my list of things to do next time because those chips look amazing.
Definitely stop by Captain Cook's. It's wonderful!

Hooray for long posts! :thumbsup2

I actually can't remember when the name changed. I've just kept on calling it MGM. LOL.

I've never done the early morning Soarin' rush (we always ride Test Track first) but I feel like the TSM rush is even more intense than that. Like, the horror stories you hear from people about kids being shoved to the side and grandmas being knocked over...it's insane. It's just a ride people! It's not like NSYNC is reuniting and you need to knock everyone over to get tickets. Because if that was the case, I would do my dirtiest.

90s/early 00s pop music is the best. Honestly. Apparently there's a rumor going around that O-Town is reuniting. I love that 2011 is pretty much turning into the year of the boybands. But OF FREAKING COURSE I'd be a fan of the band that has the "serious" actor in it, so they'll never reunite. You suck, Timberlake! You suck!

HAHA Yeah, my foot is pointed at part of a map of the US that's painted on the wall in the queue.

You absolutely must try out for the American Idol Experience and dedicate a song to me. ABSOLUTELY MUST.

I think they ask for suggestions most of the time, but I've also done a class where the animator had already picked out what we were going to draw. So I don't know. I just hate that we wasted so much of our precious class time sitting there awkwardly while she listed off a bunch of different characters. It was like JUST PICK ONE ALREADY. GOSH.

I don't know why, but this trip there was seriously someone in the GCH with an arm full of leis every single time we walked through there. They were giving them to everyone. Maybe they ordered too many and were trying to get rid of them or something. :confused3

Bump bump bump.

Earth to Kara... COME IN KARA!!!!!!!!!!! We miss you. You need to post an update because Paul Wesley is starting to really get on my nerves. You may know him from the hit show, The Vampire Diaries (don't know if you've heard of it!). Anyway, he won't stop calling me and asking me why you haven't updated this thing in almost a month. He really needs to get a life, even more than I do, and that is really saying something.

I'M HERE! I'M HERE! With a new - very long - update too! So you can tell Mr. Wesley to stop bothering you and start bothering me, if you know what I mean.

That was lame. I'm sorry. But YAY for new TVD in just a few hours!! Is it just me, or do Thursdays always take forever? Why can't it be 8:00 RIGHT NOW? I need my weekly dose of attractive people of the vampire/werewolf/vampire slayer/human with magic protecto ring variety.

Anyway, BRB with an update! :upsidedow
