Im new to this site but a friend told me it's very helpful. I haven't been to WDW in over 7 years, which was with my family (parents, siblings, cousins ranging from all ages.) My boyfriend and I are planning our first Vacation together the third week of May (17-22). It has been over 15 years since my boyfriend has been to WDW. We are in our late 20s and early 30s. We are staying at the Port Orleans. We have a 6 day hopper pass and the Dining plan 1 TB 1 QS 2 snacks. Any tips or suggestions for our first adult trip to Disney? How are the crowds the third week in may? Thank you!!!

I would start by reading on the Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies board, particularly the FastPass+ FAQ located here:

https://www.disboards.com/threads/fastpass-frequently-asked-questions.3491680/

This is very helpful. Also, I like the crowd calendars from EasyWDW, though he hasn't been doing them very far out. They can help you decide which park on which day.

Other than that, just ask questions, particular on the TPAS board. We love to answer. Have fun!

The most important advise I can give is to not try to plan every minute of every day and expect to get everything done. Both are impossible and you will set yourself up for disappointment. Make sure you spend some time just looking at the place and enjoying the details, every park and resort have oodles of details and so many people are rushing around trying to get on every ride they miss them. Even though you are on the dining plan, you can be spontaneous with your meals, it's not necessary to plan out every one. You have hoppers so that will make it easy to hop onto MDE and see what's available and if it's not in a park you are in, no problem, hop on over.

If you can get up early take advantage of the early extra magic hour you get as a Disney resort guest.

Use your table service meal for dinner; it costs the most to eat at that time. You can make advanced reservations for TS 180 days ahead of time.

You can make fastpass plus reservations at the 60 day mark.

Try not to backtrack in the parks or at least keep it at a minimum. To conserve energy alternate ride with shows; so, you can get a rest that way.

You can use your snack credits for breakfast including getting a side of eggs. Don't waste your quick service meal or table service meal on breakfast. Maximize your dining plan by ordering more expensive entrees. You aren't paying extra for it.

I think you should not get worried and just go and enjoy. All of the suggestions mentioned by the forums members are really helpful. Such relax and enjoy your trip.

My one major suggestion:
Go to the parks for two days, take a day off, go the parks for two days, take a day off. This way you do not need a vacation from your vacation upon returning home.

Depending upon what you are into, some of the things to do out the parks:
sports: golf, mini-golf, fishing, marathon, bowling, ESPN Club, WWS/ESPN Zone, etc
shopping: DTD, area outlet malls, large scale malls
drinking: Jellyrolls, Raglan Road, monorail tour of resorts, walking tour of resorts in the Boardwalk area
movies: DTD 24 screen theater some with meals served by waiters
night clubbing: Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, Raglan Road, Citywalk
resort tours: monorail tour of resorts, Boardwalk around the lake tour of resorts, horse drawn tour of FWC, AKL/AKV
offsite: Gaylord Palms Resort, Citywalk, swamp tour
eating: Formal GF 5* Chef's Table @ V&As
