Is it weird that we're basing our wedding plans around WDW? I'm kinda hoping not, but here we are!

We've not set our wedding date yet as we're not sure what we want to do about the honeymoon. We're thinking of maybe doing 6 weeks (3 at Disney, 2 a US roadtrip + 1 week Hawaii) from late December through to early/mid February.

When would be best for planning to be at WDW? I know Christmas is manic, to say the least. Is there a quiet period over those months? We did August/September last time, and I realise the weather will be drastically different, but will it still be warm?

Excited to be jumping back on the bandwagon with you all, I've missed you! <3

wow sounds like you have an amazing trip planned. I have no idea about the crowds at that time of year as I have never been then but if you are spending 3 weeks there even if it is busy I'm sure you will still see most of the things you want. (although there are still rides I have never done :confused3)

I look forward to hearing about your plans.

December/January/February can be mixed for weather. You can get everything from warm days to frosts!

We have been in the winter months 5 times and we know it will not be pool weather for us even on the hottest days. People do but we don't find it pleasant.

Crowd wise it picks up mid December to after Marathon weekend in January. Then quietens down a bit but Presidents Day in February.

I can't help with your disney plans, we've also only been in september, but I just wanted to say how jealous I am of your trip over to Hawaii! DH and I spent two weeks on Oahu for our honeymoon last September and it was incredible! You'll also be over there when there should be there when there is an incredible swell coming in so you might get to see some of the big wave surfers in action. Have an incredible wedding and honeymoon!!

Welcome back.

Wow super plans to be made I'm afraid also only done July-sept visits so can't help with dates.where u thinking for road trip destinations ?? The Florida keys r lovely if you can squeeze a visit x

Thank you guys! It's so good to be back :) I'm not going to lie... I've had HUGE disney blues since coming back, I've been too jealous to even come here!

Marathon weekend is usually the first weekend of January isn't it? We were playing with the idea of arriving around the 7th/8th as my 30th will be on the 9th and I'd like to be at WDW for it since it's such a huge birthday! Hoping it would be a quieter after that?

The weather does worry me a little. Mind you, I am the sort to go to the beach in March/April and go in the sea, so I'm hoping I won't mind. There's always the hot tubs at the resorts! Do you ever get to break out a pair of shorts? Or is it more jeans weather?

I'm not sure to be honest! Our adopted daughter will be studying in the US in Denton, TX that year - from August to July, so she will be there when we go. That's one of the main motivations for us going over Christmas, so she won't be alone. I'm not sure though in terms of a plan - we know we want to do NYC and Washington, so might start there before Christmas and then fly from Washington to Texas. Spend Christmas in Texas with Daisy, then head east and hit Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia before ending up in Florida. Doing two to three weeks in Disney, then drive down to Miami and the keys for a few days, and across to Hawaii... that's my rough plan anyway!

Will it be December next year you are looking at booking, we had decided to fly to new York then drive all the way down east coat in to Florida this year but then the super cheap Miami flight popped up and was too good to miss.

The rough plan sounds fabulous .

We've been at Christmas for the last seven years and absolutely love it. During our first trip we wore jeans, big coats an gloves as it was one of the coldest Decembers on record. Since then it's been rare to have worn more than a light jacket in the evening!! Last year we were in shorts/T shirts in MK at midnight.

It is busy but I actually prefer Christmas to our summer and Easter trip as the parks/resorts are so magical.

Mostly shorts but you will get jeans/jumpers/coats days.

Marathon weekend will the first or second weekend depending on how it falls.
